MageOhki has something a bit off the beaten trail to share with you all this evening.

This is a bit of sci-fi goodness, rattling around in the very large and versatile world of Battletech in which humans have spread into a vast star empire and then dwindled somewhat due to greed, corruption, and the common problem of getting too big to properly fit our britches. In the aftermath, a system of noble clans hold onto what territory they can by force of economic and military strength. Some still aspire to the highest levels of technology reached by humanity, others struggle to keep their technology functioning and hold onto their ability to travel the stars by the barest fingertips. Where it comes to military might, there is the Mech... a complex giant man shaped war machine, piloted by one man or woman, equipped with everything from machine guns to lasers, missle racks to particle cannons. For those who can't field a lance of Mechs of their own, there are mercenary companies, noble clan or private free companies, to hire and send after your enemies... and hope that they honor their contract.

Chapter One of "With the right lever, I can move the world" can be found in the Newest Non-Canon Stories... or more specifically under the Unique Sci-Fi section of the Library stories. Enjoy!
