    Polk Kitsune
    EnemyofFun
    ShadowedSin
    FiddlerFox

as probationary Canon Authors… We’ve been impressed by what they’ve shown us and know that you will be as well. As we continue to evaluate authors, in this ongoing process, we expect more to be added from time to time and we’ll be making more announcements in the future.

Today’s release is a New Gen 1 story by ShadowedSin called Scald Crow 1: The Rocky Road to Whateley (Part 1).

I'm sorry to annouce that there is nothing available in the pipeline ready for release. It isn't the first time in our 15 years of producing stories for the community, but it is the first time in a while... maybe the first time since we moved to the new site?

We are working to prevent this being a long term problem, in part by recruiting several candidates for our author team. Some very good people have stepped up to audition and we expect their work to be very welcome, though their first work will be delayed/slowed as they also learn more about the universe behind the scenes.

In the meantime, if you missed it.. E.E. added one of his older stories "Belle of the Ball" to the Whateley library section. pre-Whateley super-powers. Worth a reread, even, if like me you havent seen it for more than 15 years.

The craziness of September continues... this time not work, but other fun and excitement. The past couple days have resulted in a bit of extra work for my new tablet because my main desktop system had its monitor fail. Which is a first for me. As if that weren't fun enough, I got word that my landlord is going to finish renovations on the building... which means I'm moving out. Fortunately, I have 60 days... but I'll still be looking for somewhere new for the first time in twelve years.

Our pipeline is a bit bare this week.. so I've dug out the first part of something I've been working on to share with all of you. It's something that takes place in Elrod's MAU universe that I'm calling "Noblesse Oblige." I hope you enjoy this first part of it. It can be found down in the Newest Non-Canon Stories list... or back in the Library collection under Miscellaneous stories.

One of the down sides of living where I do is the lack of the traditional four seasons. We have a two month period which is either 'amazing' (clear blue skies, temps between 90-100 with little humidity) weather or so-damn-hot-the-world-is-on-fire (105-110, moderate humidity), we have another eight months in which the weather is really quite lovely...(70-85, blue skies, little humidity), and then a month or so there the temperature drops down and its overcast about half the time and we get some rain (55-70, mixed levels of cloud, rain 3-4 days a week). One of the nice parts of our regular cycle is that nights follow a desert / dry climate principle... a 95-100 degree afternoon will drop below 80 by 10 pm and will hit 58-60 degrees at 4 or 5 in the morning before sunrise starts to push the temperature back up. During the rainy part of the year, those nights might push as low as 40... but its rare to get much closer to freezing than that.

For many people, this is pretty close to paradise for these reasons. But it does mean that I miss out on two things I've always loved. One of those is the Thunderstorm. Growing up in PA, we had some great storms... but where I really got my taste for them was the times I've spent in Florida (in the 80's at NTC Orlando, which no longer exists... and post-grad school about fifteen years ago, in Sarasota). Very little I enjoy more than sitting out on a sun porch in a storm with lightning flying around like mad, an ocean dropping out of the sky, and wind blasting through every screen window.

But I DO have a childhood full of years of growing up in Western PA where the seasons include a snow covered winter and transitory seasons of spring and fall between the extremes. And Fall in western PA is pretty spectacular. If you've ever been in the Appalachian's (or anywhere with a huge number of deciduous trees - oak, maple, aspen, etc), you know what I'm talking about. Add in the ability to dress in rugged outdoorsy clothing without it being too hot for comfort... the potential for fog and frost... and it really is my favorite season.... if I could just have Fall + thunderstorms on alternating days with Sacramento summer days any time I want to visit the pool/beach... but that's probably only likely to happen in one location as a result of climate craziness... so many I shouldn't push for it. :P

Ok... weather talk set aside. For this week's content release, we're going to go back to Wasaman and the Gen 2 storyline. The story is "Dorms of Our Lives, Season 5" and this is Part 4. Enjoy!  And don't forget to comment or write feedback in the forums.

Remember that while we welcome use Discord for community discussion, the recommended way to thank the authors is always going to be through comments and feedback threads, so they can look back and see history/discussions

    *snicker*

Yes, its World of Warcraft day. Specifically, its the day when the original 'vanilla' version of World of Warcraft in all its painful glory without any expansions, added races or classes and many of the features players have claimed 'destroyed the game' releases. Who will play? Who will throw themselves painfully against the wall of 40 man raiding? Who will overcome the doom of a 30 quest keying system to get access to UBRS?

Ok, ok... helping me laugh at young streamers who never experienced the game when it released (because they were 5 years old at the time) aside...

Today, we have some fun and exciting Gen 2 story telling for you all. It's "Dorms of Our Lives, Season 5" and this is Part 2. Be sure to let Wasaman know you're reading and loving it, with a comment and some forum feedback.

Also, don't forget we're coming up on Crystal Con 2019. Check out the announcement below and drop in on discord to get involved in the action.

    Enjoy!

    Crystal Con 2019

The time is coming up soon for the second Crystal Convention. A weekend where fans can gather, chat with some of the authors, and have some fun. There will be presentations, Q&A sessions and a few fun contests for those interested. The convention will begin at August 30th until September 1st.

It will be held at our fan-made Discord channel, which can be accessed through this link: discord.gg/bMGfsNk

For those not familiar with the program the link will take you to a web-based version of Discord if you don’t want to install it on your device. Please do read the rules on the channel, most of these will be similar to those on the forum.

For any authors who want to have a Q&A or presentation session, the auditorium channel will be for that purpose, and I have a schedulle page you can use to reserve the place. Just notify me, and I can provide you a link you can gain access with.
