  • Curious. How does one become a member? What are their purpose? Harem? Secret body guards?

The original intention... Jobe was creating a formula to turn someone into his ideal mate/sexual partner. He would find someone like Bova who absolutely couldn't survive without the transformation but who would get along with him alright, and then rely on the sec bond to keep them under his thumb. That's is why they bond to the first person they have sex with. Of course, that was the original intent... before Jobe was tricked into taking his own formula. Now?

  • I remember that part from the Jobe stories. I also remember reading other stories that mention them as well. Later on down the road. So i'm guessing fan fic? So many stories they all run together after awhile lol. Was there any intention of them appearing in the G2 storylines at anypoint? Even though Aung was overtly hostile to their creation what would Nikki do,now that Aung is no longer around?

  • In Gen2 there's a run-in with them at the start of AJ's part of The Road to Whateley ... As for Sidhe/Drow relations... nothing's been shown yet on how things are progressing there...

Applications are available at the nearest Karedonian Embassy or Consulate. They can also be downloaded. Remember spelling and grammar count in your essay.

  • Actually, figuring out how to get to Jobe, let alone make a good impression on her, is a major part of the vetting process. Remember, Jobe wants immortal subjects who're sharp, insightful, daring and have initiative. Not just ones who write a good cover letter.

  • After re reading their appearance in the G2 story. I honestly don't think they have much of any of those qualities. At least on the surface anyways. Starting a brawl over Smokey at 7 to 1 odds. Not the smartest idea ever lol. And horribly losing at that. When all they had to do was call over a patrol bot and let it sort it out. But i'm still curious what thier purpose is. Because Jobe can't be bonding to all of them. Or is she? Hmmmmm.

Yo miss the point: that wasn't business for the Drow; that was play. And they're new at it

  • Let's say you are a billionaire. At 80 years old, your doctor is telling you that you have less than a year to live. There might be options that could give you another couple years, but they're going to greatly reduce your quality of living even if they do keep you alive. But there's this option. You can emigrate to Karedonia and buy in to the aristocracy by joining the drow population. There's a low chance of survival, but if you DO survive, you'll be part of the nobility in a powerful young new body... one that supposedly shares the vaunted Sidhe's long life if not actual immortality.

Sure... a lot of people who try it end up dead... but, if you're dead anyway... why not?

I wonder if Jobe knows about that part by 2016, and what her reaction was when she found out... of course, by then I doubt she could have done anything to Nimbus, assuming she could actually have affected him in the first place, but if he was still around she was sure to have tried.

  • The restored youth aspect is quite a draw i'm sure. And i'm sure just about every billionaire would be jumping at the chance to extend their lives by an amazing stretch. But there has to be some kind of price i'm sure beyond the massive amount of money.

  • Well chemical addiction to the first person you had sex with would be a pretty high price. I'm sure by now Jobe has worked out a way to make that addiction tie the drow tightly to each other.

  • Jobe designed the Drow so that the semen of the first person they have sex with is super addictive to them, at the time he was male and they were supposed to get addicted to him ....

  • It's explained in detail in The Second Book of Jobe, part 4:

“There’s one other thing I didn’t tell you about drow girls.”

“Worse than the other stuff? Oh, this’ll be good, then.”

“Hmmm, yeah, that’s about right. It’s about being a virgin.”

“No worries there. Between the twins and the new toys, I’m happy as a clam. Which in this case is perhaps a delightfully appropriate Americanism.”

“Good,” I said. “Because it’s possible that the first time you sleep with a man… he’ll own you.”

“Say again?” Her voice dropped into almost a growl. “You’d better explain that one.”

It was a secret I’d been sitting on (literally) for several days now, but I owed it to her. “Well, see, this was supposed to be my dream girl, right? Naturally, everyone else would be attracted to her, too. I wanted to be able to give her something that no one else could give her. But I don’t believe in mind control.”

“None of your words are comforting me,” Belphoebe warned.

“So I fixed it. I’d just need to sleep with her once, see? Then she couldn’t resist me.”

    “Get to the point!”

“You can trace the sexual nerves for human women. There are two primary concentrations, in the clitoris, and about half-way up the vagina. The so-called ‘Gräfenberg spot.’ Then there are secondary sites – the nipples, areas of the skin. I increased the nerve endings, increasing the sensitivity of all of these regions. You’ve probably noticed that yourself.”

    “What did you DO?”

“Modified nerve cells,” I explained. “Like the scent detectors, in the nose. Only, these aren’t in the nose. They form a tertiary sexual concentration, more powerful than any of the others. They’re sensitized to the chemical structures in semen, and the exposed nerve endings surround the cervix.”

“So,” my daughter ground out, “whenever there’s semen spraying over my cervix, I’ll, what? Come like you wouldn’t believe?”

“Well… yes and no. I mean, we’ll always be able to sense true semen down there, and it’ll definitely bring pleasure, but the chemical detectors will form a special bond with the first type of semen encountered. As you know from bloodhounds and the like, everyone has their own unique scent, and that’s what we—”

“Mother, SHUT UP. Just tell me what this means.”

“Well…” I gulped. “The first man… the first semen… that will sensitize you. Permanently.”

“I thought you didn’t LIKE mind control!”

    “I don’t! This isn’t mind control! It’s just… a little extra. A special gift.”

    “That does WHAT?”

“Uh… the first man who, um, has his semen on your cervix, I can’t be sure, I haven’t tested it, but… you’ll come.”

    “Yes? And?”

“I think it should be pretty mind blowing,” I admitted.

    “That’s it?”

“Yes. But I don’t think you get it,” I said. “I mean, really mind-blowing. When he’s inside you, when he comes, you’ll taste it. You’ll feel it. It will feel like it’s going right to all your most sensitive spots at once. Whenever he comes inside you, you’ll instantly come so powerfully that you won’t believe it. But only for him. Your first man. You’ll lock onto his scent, and then he’ll be the only one that ever does that for you, for the rest of your life.”

    “Oh, that’s just fucking lovely.”

“But, on the good side,” I pleaded, “think about it! Every time your man gets off, you do, too! Simultaneous orgasm, every single time. Not only will you be happy, but you’ll make him feel really good, too. Men like to believe that they’re keeping their women happy, and he will be, won’t he? Heck, by my calculations, you’ll be spasming so hard that it will be like a first-class workout, just by having sex.”

“But only for the stupid wanker that fucks me first.”

“Yeah. So… pick someone that will stick around. And be a good father. And someone who will live a long time. And,” I realized that I was whispering this last part, “someone who will love you forever.”

    “Fucking wonderful.”

“Because even if you come to hate him,” I realized, “I mean, hate him as much as I hate your father, you won’t be able to stay away from him. You’ll always want him back there inside you…”

“Great. Stay a virgin for the rest of your life. Your first boyfriend better be The One. No pressure, it’s just eternity.”

    “What have I done…?” I asked myself.

  • Also, the "taste" of the drow girls appears to be mildly addictive to everyone, drow or otherwise. And smells faintly of almonds. It's been a while since I read the story, but I think I recall that that feature wasn't entirely intentional.

  • Well, she was sorta-attempting to be bonded to Thunderbird in the later parts of The Second Book of Jobe... but Scott is rather oblivious, while Chaka (and the rest of the Thunderbird "harem")... aren't stupid. I think that by now Jobette must have figured out some way to tone down her libido so she won't bond herself stupidly.
One possible way I suggested in the old forums: create an artificial semen-like substance that she can produce at will in the lab... and deliberately bond to it. That is, she would have amazing orgasms only from dildos filled with her special formula. Maybe she can even figure out a way to temporarily induce the production of the same scent markers by any male...

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

Have we seen the Drow Serum work on an Exemplar? And the answer to the last is No.

  • The entire point of that post was that you cannot evaluate Sidhe using mutant power trait science. Just as you cannot evaluate a baseline human with a power gem by mutant power trait science. Sidhe cannot be Exemplar. They cannot have a BIT. Not because Sidhe don't have evolved physical capabilities or powers, etc... but because they ARE NOT MUTANT HUMANS. Once a human manifests and undergoes transformation into a Sidhe, they are no longer human. Mutant or otherwise.

Does that prevent humans in the labs from evaluating those Sidhe and saying... hey, you have Olympic level physical abilities, heightened Essence accumulation and Empathy and oh, hey, you can throw plasma balls... so we're going to rate you Exemplar 2, Wiz 2, Empathy 2, and Energizer 3.

It's not TRUE... but it gives them and the school a reference point by which they can build a program of study.

Produced in labs? Delivered by dildos? How barbarian. Civilized Drow may simply equip themselves or their partner with a Mr. Prickles for fresh, local production with that personal touch.

  • has it been discussed if Jobe's serum gives a person near immortality?

as IMO Jobe might not have that? As his change ended up with her not gaining any magic? So it looks like a change in body only based on a slight Fey template?

But then Belphoebe might have that long life because she gained some magic? and is a closer clone of Fey with small tweaks to the DNA

    just wondering?

Immortality? enh, it's not so much that they Drow can't die as they age very slowly, and as regens, their ability to handle wounds and pathogens is off the charts. Their presumptive aging rates is so slow that on a human scale their for all practical reasons immortal. Jobe's gonna be carrying on that feud with Sara for a LONG time.

As for Jobe not having magic, it's not so much that she can't do magic, as it is that her personal paradigm doesn't allow for it. That might change in a thousand or so years, who knows?

  • Well of course! What's the point of having a vicious vendetta, if it doesn't stretch across millennia, encompassing generations, involving convoluted obscure and baffling points of victory, subtly laying waste to entire dynasties, crushing nations between its grinding wheels, building up mighty empires for the sole purpose of bringing them down?

When you live that long, you've got to think in the long run. Otherwise, you find yourself binge-watching reruns of Seinfeld, and that's just lame.
