  • How to deal with Martial Arts students with problematic powers?

Like, what if you need to destroy your surroundings every time, to use your powers?

Or, if your powers, while their activation is under your control, once activated, they will try to kill someone / everyone, or reveal secrets like a sieve?

Edit: The latter situation is basically gonna be an automatically summoned defense demon or something...

  • Same way they are dealing with Tennyo, by teaching her to counter others powers without having to use hers.

Ito is a baseline who stands up to powers students all the time, if you can teach that to them, they won't need to use their powers.

  • The Power Testing dept. would have a field day with this sort of student.

Ito's BMA would help with MA without using powers.

Dennon's Brick class would help with providing opponents who are tough enough to withstand AoE/AreaDestruction powers.

The Psychic Arts Dept. would help with teaching internal-psychic-shielding to prevent personal leakage of thoughts/secrets.

Ito would help the student gain a measure of control, as that is part of the Martial Arts School that he is creating, and helping someone master their powers is be a part of that.

If a power was uncontrolled, or problematic, then Winter Term classes would cover some of this, and it would be possible that the Admin, along with the Powers Testing, the Martial Arts, and the other appropriate, departments, would develop a curriculum specifically for this student, as it would be another case study for them, as well as the opportunity to create a template for future students with similar issues.

  • some martial arts can be used to train in focus and concentration. T'ai Chi is a great way to learn relaxation and control.

  • Also, someone with that little control is either isolated in Hawthorn or isolated in ARC. You don't take classes with everyone else if you have that little control.

  • "Like, what if you need to destroy your surroundings every time, to use your powers?"

This second case might be a power with an unacceptably high activation energy, if the destruction is needed to kick it off. (On a par with theoretically being able to simulate the gravity well of a neutron star or black hole: potentially useful as a last resort, but not so much fun to practice indoors.)

Power comes on and then everything is destroyed: that could be a control issue best addressed from Hawthorne, ARC, or a nearby galaxy ("Sorry Mr. and Mrs. Grey, but your daughter's ... feeding habits ... have become a bit troublesome.")

I mean, like, you tear up your surroundings as literal ammo. Making some ChunkyUpdraft and hurling it at your enemies. ... And I thought of a solution. Get around the *rip up the ground* limitation by getting her a Mobius Bag and storing ammo in it, like Phase.
