Question Generation 2 Conjecture

So first who thinks Carson will still be Headmistress?
Since this is suppose to be fairly separate from Gen 1, doubt they'll be brining in big characters from the original, so I'm going to say no. I'm thinking they'll use a teacher we know about, but hasn't had much face time, like the Indian shop teacher in A Single Fold.
Will Poe be a secret still, an open secret, or really truly for the students who need the extra mental support?
I've got no clue here.
Will rocket packs and hover boards finally be open for the mass public?
They'd better be, I want my jetpack.
We know H1 is still around, how powerful do you think it is? And will Evolution Rocks, finally be something more than a casual mention and easily ignored?

So... guesses that include things like characters X, Y, and Z from Gen 1 2006-2007 being teachers in Gen 2 2016-2017... not only break the basic premise of preventing this from being an alternate universe... they don't even make sense from a 'how education works' perspective. For instance: a Gen 1 freshman in '06-'07 graduates from high school in May 2010. They begin a college degree program for an Education degree in their specialization field (Math, Science, Social Studies, or English) in the Fall 2010... and most likely, they will graduate with the basic Bachelor's of Science in Education in 2014. At that point of time, their only classroom experience is student teaching... which is generally not much more than a several weeks in front of the classroom and several more as a teacher's assistant observing classroom technique. A grad student TA often gets more experience in one semester than that... but rarely has any of the preparatory training (or especially not the developmental learning/ed psych side of things). And neither one of these has any outside life experience... and in the case of Whateley teachers, being able to handle the "being a mutant" side with "being a teacher, or student" side is somewhat critical.
In other words, you won't find many 'new' teachers on the Whateley rosters. Not in the traditional sense. You're far more likely to find a hero getting out of the 'game' or a villain trying to build a new life who went back and got a teaching degree, filling those 'newbie' teacher contracts instead of a 23-25 year old. And you're definitely not going to be able to go down through the Gen 2 faculty/staff listings and read it like a who's who from the Gen 1 PoV character lists.
We're better than that.

Fate guard you and grant you a Light to brighten your Way.

No she didn't teach high schoolers. In fact she stated that many schools 'frown' upon hiring women or men her age due to the complications that could result with only about 6-7 years apart. During her time in school she was assigned to a elementary school none to far from the college itself as with several other students. She complained bitterly about how after doing this while in her Junior year she was acting more in the role of the 'teacher' then the teacher themselves. She was evaluated on lesson plans, curriculum and so forth. The major complaint was how 'little' the school supplied the necessary material to educate the students themselves. After graduating she ended up (and this was even before she graduated) with several job offers to work at many of the local schools.
She ended up teaching in a kindergarten class whereas she wished to have been working with 5th - 6th graders. She worked there for several years and only left after one of the students 'threatened' her bodily harm. Mind you this is from a kindergarten student.
So it would in essence be possible, but not highly probable to teach. So one of the major factors is age. No school will intentionally hire someone with so close of proximity of age of the students. This would cause unwanted problems.
So while I have my 'fun' with guessing who may still be teaching at Whateley my expectations are nowhere willing to guess that any of the previous students would be around as a teacher.
And as the critic in Ratatouille said at the end of the movie when asked what he wanted for his meal, I look forward to the 'surprise' of what awaits when it is served.
And I do so hope that 'if' any of the previous students do show up in some shape or form, I do hope so its done more for a sense of purpose than for gratification reasons.

All that being said, I wouldn't expect an exclusive school like Whateley to do something like that, unless the student had a very specific set of skills or knowledge. Even this would have to be to bring Chaka in to teach another Ki master, or something similar where there is virtually no other person that could be called in.
I would only consider two current "students" to possible teachers in Whateley Gen 2. Caitlin, back as Range Nazi, and Sara teaching Religion classes. (Also Silo and Bronco working as building repairs, as Carson threatened to do.)

Wilson might be still there, in a more senior position. Caitlin might still be there, because frankly she would have a hard time finding a place outside Whateley. And Everheart is likely to still be there.
My money is on Everheart to be heading all the military-style parts of campus, including the JROTC. She hits all the necessary boxes. Caitlin might be working on the Ranges. Delarose might be still there but thinking of retirement himself.
IIF Imp is still a teacher, Chickenhawk might have retired from the hero business to marry her, and taken a teaching position himself. But that would be a sort of big spoiler for Morpheus' stories, so I think... no.
Circe should be there. And the more research-interested teachers, if not retired, should also be still there, since Whateley offers quite unique research opportunities.
Ito probably retired from full-time teaching. He IS pretty old, after all. He might be still around, consulting and privately tutoring a few of the more interesting pupils. Or he might have gone back to Japan. Maybe Journeyman was convinced to take a permanent teaching role, replacing one of the retiring Martial Arts teachers (not necessarily Ito).

I have a personal guess that status of Generation one characters will be for the most part kept out of the stories to avoid spoilers for those stories that are still in progress or on hiatus.

There is a common trope in Manga with the old as dirt Master martial artist that the hero can hunt up and who puts him through ridiculous training to power up. Of course a lot of those mystic martial arts masters are huge perverts, so maybe no.
Look up Master Leap from Golddigger who only trains females who are already skilled fighters, and makes them dress in Mini-skirt training outfit.

So imagine one poor team entering the sims, only to find out (the hard way) that their simulated opponents, far from being easy walkovers with their pastel attire and childish animal motifs, were second only to the Dragonslayers scenario. "Prepare the Wandākawaii scenario!"
Or facing one simulated opponent whose costume colouration is set randomly on generation with an algorithm purposely designed to find the most violent combinations possible (and another algorithm that renders it in monochrome on the viewing screens to preserve the sanity of spectators).

Got me thinking about what about those who are about as young as her, but arrive in later years? There'd be a group of students that have been going to school at Whateley for a large majority of their education, not to mention for more than a decade... No, wait, only those who arrive at least almost as young as Ember, who's in Grade Three, a.k.a 7-8 years old, would be at Whateley for a decade.
... Have we seen Grimesy in G2 yet? Maybe she left, and someone else is handling the Junior High program...

BUT... is she necessarily at Whateley... if she's learned control of her powers then she wouldn't necessarily have reason to stay... but, if she had she would have graduated in Spring.

Edit2; This is all AU/Fanfic ideas, or course. Not speculation at all, unless those bits above were Trolling Creators... But I don't think so?
Well, you could delay Ember's graduation by burnout or something? How that'd happen, when she's a Thornie, I'd say luck manipulator shenannigans, have one have detention in Hawthorne, or meet her outside, or perhaps some fire spirits or something are attracted to the strongest pyrokinetic in the school, which would also make her the strongest one in the world? ... No, her power's just out of control? But lower age correlates with more power... And a fire mage might want to use her as a fire essence battery or something... "Ember, for all your firey needs." ... Seraphim shooting an angel into her might make holy fire?? Englund uses her as extermination tool, and some accident happens?
Edit:
With a name like Angellina Cromwell ... I have to wonder...
And she could stay on, like Fubar did, and perhaps she's the assistant for the Junior High program, also brought back in as the pyrokinetics instructor, or something?
For burnout-things, perhaps a fire spirit escapes from the summoning labs and somehow manages to get into Hawthrone? [Hawthorne...] or meets her outside, and needs more essence or fire or something, and tries to possess Ember? Or something... ... Weird if Ember is part of Ayla's, personal fanon here, Firebitch curse, and circumstances contrive to have every flaring of her powers damage him/his clothing in some way...

And we'll do some of that. It just didn't seem like a good idea to make every single G2 thing have to be continuity checked by G1 authors to make sure nothing is contradictory to events in the earlier time line... especially given that many of those things haven't even happened yet.

Let me see... Chaka's brother Matt was 9 in 2006, so in 2016 he would be... 19? Too old, I think. If he manifested, he would probably be a recent graduate.
Jericho's brother Zach is 13, so no for Gen2. But he might manifest in time for Gen1.
Same for Fey's brother. Tennyo's brother has already manifested but was not sent to Whateley. And... Phase's brother is likely to become the subject of Nimbus' next meddling. If he (or maybe she) survives, Whateley is a possibility.
But...
Razorback's little brother Adam was 6 on Christmas 2006, so smack dab in the Whateley age range in 2016. If he manifests, and there isn't an option closer to Australia, that is.
Can't remember any other little siblings right now...

Jay Declan's old enough for Gen 1. (I tried to write a fan-fic scene with Hank's family meeting Mads' on Family Day. No bueno. Lars would be, *ahem*, less than impressed by Jay's attitude.)
Tessa Vitesse (mentioned by Valentine) is "nine or ten years younger than Adalie" (from Wiki) Spot on for Gen 2.
Sara's children would likely be Gen 3: There's Gary (WhatIF appearance), and Donna's child (conceived September 2006). As would be Kayda's and Danny's youngest sibling(s?), and Charge's half-sib(s).

First, i will acknowledge that Kayda's youngest sibling is a girl named Brenda, as someone suggested with a WhatIF or micro-scene. That does NOT make that piece of speculative fiction canon.

It's no less amusing for not being canon!
For that matter, I figure until otherwise noted that there's always the possibility of twins or triplets. (IIRC, there's a curse attributed to the Irish: "May you have triplets: Twenty-four hours apart.")

His nod of respect was actually genuine. For a long time Nicholas had not been sure if Freya was all rep and was just fantastically lucky, or if there was something more serious going on under that blonde head. To finally know there was, in fact, more to her than luck was worth the price of admission. And the champagne was top notch. Freya always knew how to party. “Alright, Why don't you show me around this little empire you've built? And the Army I'll command. In your name, of course.”
Freya smiled, a deadly spider smiling at another fly caught in her web. “Of course.”
“You realize, to do what you're talking about properly, to be fully prepared, will take years?”
“Certainly. What do you think? Ten or so?”
Is time up? Is an assault on Whateley imminent? A full on occupation? Can anyone among the POV characters other than Tanya withstand Freya's powers?
