Question Summoning Info?

    • What do we know about summoning?

    We get a few things from Sara's Summoning in Kayda4.4

    And Gateway's Summoning Series

    And those other summonings that have occurred...

    But, what are things that you can't order a summoned being to do? 'Cause the list of what can be asked is basically infinite...

    And, possible requests also differ based on the type of being summoned, gods that Ascended vs. some other kinds of gods..

    Speculation is open if there is no Canon answer after some time...

    • Gateway uses two separate ways to summon things. She can open her portal and have things come through it, or she can use the standard summoning circles that she is learning about in class. I believe that she has more control over what she summons via a circle, control is part of the spell, but what limits there are I don't know.

    When she uses her portals, she has less control (maybe none), but the beings seem to be friendlier and more inclined to be helpful based upon their nature.

    • That's generally not how it works. If you're bringing multiple extra-dimensional beings into the world at the same time, its via a gateway... not a summons. A summons is far more complex and target specific... and includes protections for both sides. And almost always involves a name, thus one being. having 'two' names involved... would either weaken the pull on either target or confuse 'targeting' and end up landing on a single being that wasn't either of the desired targets.

    often though, you don't even summon a specific being... but rather ask for a representative from a specific class of beings.
