    ***

What was that Latin book they were reading?

Propitius, ego sum valde infigo ut vos went ut totus perturbo of reddo is.

    ...

Quare es vos non procul prandium, vel lascivio, amo bonus parum puella.

They seem to be valid sentences, but they don't seem to be part of anything... RedHerring? Or Chekov's Gun? ... Hmm...

“Good work, Clover!” Pally said. “Have a cookie!”

Note: Even the narration calls Palantir, 'Pally' ... Wow.

  • I think it's dog latin for "Goodness, I'm surprised you put so much effort into reading this." and "Why are you not eating, or playing, or loving a fine woman?"

Well, of course, I'm presuming that you're right, and it's an BilingualBonus and not to be treated as valid in-universe information... Or if it is valid in-universe information, that might mean that Palantir's Palantir isn't a perfect translator or something...

And, given my history, I'd bet that this thread has been paid attention to. If not Subscribed, then at least glanced at every time there's a post... ... I don't think that I, even as the OP, have access to its subscriber list... Unless I've missed it...

But yes, an actual post would be nice. ... But, in absence of that, sneaking in a BilingualBonus confirmation when Palantir uses her orb to translate would be a confirmation as well. And I'd wait for that, in absence of anything...?

  • Heh. In my case, I plugged it into Google Translate, which came out pretty literal with a few untranslated words that looked similar to English ones. Could also be that I'm doing that classic human thing of seeing patterns where there are none.

  • Hmm... What's "Fur Duty"? It's a detention, or punishment detail or something... But, what is it, precisely?

The three little witches sat at dinner again and compared battle scars. “Dishpan hands!” Palantir fussed, “I have DISHPAN HANDS!”

“I have ‘Fur Duty’ all week,” Abra groused.

“I’m gonna be pullin’ weeds forever!” Clover moaned. “I hate pullin’ weeds! They make my hands all sticky!”

If I had to think of something on par with what the other girls got and involving fur I would imagine it to be cleaning the fur from the drains of the showers in the cottages...

  • Is Clover saying that she feels "Buttercuppy" when she's wearing her yellow dress, a reference to Buttercup? The all-yellow girl of Heyoka3: Survival Class??

Just wondering. I feel like such a necro. *sigh*

  • Clearly she was referring to Buttercup the Bumboat Woman from HMS Pinafore. Because that's a reference middle school girls are familiar with. :D

Honestly, she probably just meant the flower.
