Tia and Tanya are probably the most devout of the POV characters.Standing to the side of [the door], in full regalia, was the priest. He was small, under average height and thin. His brown hair was beginning to both gray at the sides and run away from top of his head, and his body seemed gnarled like a stunted oak. A broad smile lit up his face, however.
"Ah, another new face, good morning, and how do you do?"
Tia recognized that accent, faint as it was. The good father was Italian.
"Good morning, Father, I'm well. I'm Tia Del Bosque, How are you?" She managed to stifle the embarrassing yawn, but only just.
The Father grinned anyway. "Father Verraco, pleased to meet you, Miss Del Bosque. The early hour claims another victim, eh? Wouldn't do to have you fall asleep during Mass, though heavens know you might be joining the crowd of your peers there."

1. His age finally caught up with him and he had to retire.
2. He fucked up one time too many and became Persona Non Grata at Whateley.
3. His luck ran out, and he died facing some Eldritch Abomination. Maybe he made an Heroic Sacrifice(tm) in the final battle against Nimbus and the Bastard.

Fixed that.
He was born in 1920, and didn't seem to have slowed aging of a high level regen or exemplar.
Don't Drick and Drive.

I'd even wager that it won't be Eldritch, Nimbus, or the Bastard that ends him.

From The Kodiak Conspiracy (Chapter 1) :
“You will not approach or recruit Nikki Reiley into this, Wyatt Cody. Moreover you will do everything in your power to see that she neither learns of it nor takes any part of it. If I hear of so much as an idle whisper of imagination of her becoming a part of this, I will undo you and every one of your followers!” he thundered...
...“I will not debate this with you, Spirit, and I will not live through another Vessel of Aunghadhail's death! The price of my compliance is Nikki Reiley will have no part of this and it is final.”
It could be simple foreshadowing, as he's by no means a spring chicken, but rash words nonetheless for a man with many enemies.

Personally, I'd be more worried about Kerry instead. She's "part" of the catholic church now, at least in their eyes. The connection isn't broken as far as we know, even if she's gained some independence.

Well if you're going there, what about Paige Donner's twin sister!? Or is it Paige who is acting as a messenger between planes above and planes below? One or the other has been co-opted by some Catholic organization, if I recall the stories correctly.Katssun wrote: Personally, I'd be more worried about Kerry instead. Petra is allied to the Vatican, and is one of their warriors, but they are kinda both in that unfortunate limbo of " where is my writer?"...Anne wrote:
