  • I'm kinda perplexed as to where Carmilla went after the end of her stories. She's not mentioned in the Hank stories so far, and none of the other recent stories I've read have featured her in person. So is she just lingering, or has she gone to be the High Priestess for her Grandmother or whatever???

  • Ok, so... Years ago, around 2012-13, I hit a dry spell. At the same time, a bunch of the old authors left or simply disappeared (in the case of Babs) and Morpheus and Elrod joined up. I was buried so deep in my personal issues that there was no way I was going to be able to write in the short term.

Elrod wrote a Kayda story which put Sara on a bus, it's in the Kayda stories. A kid conspired to murder Heyoka, then kidnapped Sara using a summoning circle provided by Nimbus in order to extract some lust essence from her in order to set up a whole other plot. So, as of the publishing of that Kayda story, Sara's trapped in a 'grey, featureless, extradimensional space' inside a circle inscribed on a piece of plastic folded up and glued to the underside of a desk in a basement classroom in Kane Hall. She's been there since.

And so, for various reasons, I took a five year break from Whateley and writing all together and that's the way things stayed. Now I'm writing Dissonance, even though it's not the story I think people were expecting me to do if I returned.

The statement in my signature is false.

All of which I should reread as they have bearing on what I'm writing so far as Speakeasy's Nightmare. Remembering the basics are Sara is Gothmog's daughter, I posit that since he hasn't been caught by Terrestrial authorities that we know of that he actually fell into the hands of Gothmog who gleaned everything he could about the disappearance of his daughter while holding Speakeasy in what essentially was a sensory deprivation space... Of course Speakeasy had been working with Nimbus and using Mythos magic so his mind is sort of scrambled by that before he fell into the hands of a Mythos creature (if that is what happened) who is now having 'fun' (for certain values of fun) with him. By the way this scenario is rather the best that could happen for Sara, other than having Terrestrial authorities catch up with Speakeasy and Kayda getting to interrogate him in order to have her try to ascertain where exactly Sara and the Tyvec are hidden... Much worse for Sara would be (and very possible to have happened) for Speakeasy to have fallen into the hands of one of her or her father's enemies. Having the Right Reverend Darren Englund or one of his cadre of GOObers catch up with him would have very bad consequences for Sara. I'm sure there are others some who might not be her enemies who would see having her captive that way as an opportunity not to be missed and she may be badly used. So being a sappy sort and liking a somewhat pleasant ending and hoping for something other than someone stumbling over where Sara is hidden utterly by accident, I wrote pieces that would give an excuse for Gothmog to be actively searching for Sara. Nul wrote a piece that has him or a splinter at least, impersonating a cat and in the tunnel system of Whateley. Of course how much of that will be used or even looked at by Dr Bender if she decides to continue the story of Sara is up to her. The pieces I've written are on the micro-scene thread.

I still think she is in an alternate Buffyverse where Soldier Xander was Hijacker for Halloween.

    :toohot:

In the end reality is only consensual! It means that Al Gore is causing "Global Warming" by his rhetoric alone! Fortunately, there are enough Global Warming "Deniers" still about to keep him from boiling the planet.
