Okay, doesn't look like there's a post about this character, and I'm not certain that this is the right spot but it looks like it so...

I'm near certain that this character, or at least someone with their history and power, that being 'Making a wish on a magical object, with the wish granted in a problematic but accurate fashion' and gaining a power that basically is 'I can do anything I want as long as it's possible, there are people around and I look cool doing it' was something from a fanfic story. I'm also really interested in finding out which fanfic that was again. Because I've forgotten, and I am really interested in re-reading it...

Pat met the Barneses at the end of his story (like, literally the final scene). Someday I'll get around to writing the final third of the Barnes saga that elaborates on how they ended up as one big, mostly happy, largely functional family unit.
