Question Bladedancer / Chou

From Tea With a Serpent:
She stood up from her bed and turned. This was not the room she had shared with Ayla. She was no longer in her best friend’s room. There was no threat of Brass Monkey to get her up and out of bed early. No threat of Ayla phasing down and spooning against her naked. But there was no chance she would have late night talks with the one person in this damn hallway who understood that despite acclimatizing she still wanted to be a boy, that she still dreamed about it occasionally.
Does she still feel some gender dysphoria at the current time (~Summer 2007), I wonder?
... Well, we haven't got her POV, all I can do is guess, I guess...

Probably. I suspect that as long as her father is trapped by the demon, Chou cannot move forward in life. Hopefully she is training with Kayda these days so we will get a glimpse of Chou dealing with the tangled tapestry and her father's kidnapping.Malady wrote: Does she still feel some gender dysphoria at the current time (~Summer 2007), I wonder?

And as for her spring break trip, it was to all Disney parks. The Immortals dragged her around the world, hitting the Magic Kingdom only. The Monkey King got involved... and yeah... crazy. Honestly it was one of the more positive events of her Freshman year.

Hey - since the 'doping' scandal with Sara's essence, Kayda hasn't 'relaxed' like that!
At least not with anyone but Debra

Bladedancer wrote: And Chou already does some of that with Molly. Summoning Sweeties did go into some detail about that particular method of stress release.
And if that doesn't do the job, it's time to hit the (Hydroflux) showers ...

I think Ayla, Jade, and maybe Billie are the only ones that don't enjoy the showers. Or at least not to their fullest extent.

Kayda sure found the showers quite relaxing (and perhaps a bit addictive)

Well, given how Fey's "prank" affected Ayla, yeah, he can't enjoy those.

Ayla might not 'enjoy' the showers, but he very defiantly enjoys the results of other people enjoying the showers

I can confirm there is another major Chou scene yet to happen in Kayda 10, and Heather has indicated that she'd love to contribute more. We WILL see more Chou.

And there's even MORE rejoicing than when, in the frozen land of Nador, they were forced to eat Robin's minstrels ....

Can't decide if I see her as taking the path of immortality with Molly (I'm sorry, I don't like Chainy) or the two of them just growing old together. I do see them ending up with a bunch of kids by way of either magic or science.

I'm not sure how well she'd do as the public face of the school, though. I feel like the school needs a pillar of upstanding goodness in its upper echelons in order to reassure normal everyday parents that their kids are in absolutely no danger (which is a bald-faced lie, but it's important that they believe it). Carson is that person in G1, and Falcon is in G2. And it seems unlikely to me that Chou will be able to fill that role. But at the same time, they also need a villain to counterbalance the paragon of goodness. Maybe she'll have two assistant heads? That could work.

I'm glad to see more info about Chou. Got an idea I'll have to work with regard to late October for Chou, Molly, and Kayda. Rough idea, but we'll see if it gets any traction.

Well I have a valid but improbable guess, if you are in the water being shot at, what's the bestthing you can do?
Alternatively when did Finding Nemo come out?

I'll happily accept the blame for inspiring Bladedancer to write more Chou, including a bit of behind-the-scenes stuff that we needn't talk about. It was part of my wicked evil plan

Why else do you think I had Chou joint Kayda in training with Mr. Two Knives, or rooming with Kayda in year 2?

I pointed your stories out to a friend who practises/teaches T'ai Chi, and studies/practises Taoist alchemy.
He thoroughly approved of them, and really enjoyed the Five Elements stories.
He said that they gave him ideas for new things to try.
And that the depictions of Sun Wu Kong were very accurate.

I work hard to make the stories as realistic as I can within the limitations of Super Hero fiction mixed with Jiang Hu fiction. It certainly makes for some fun writing.
