  • Kristin, I hope you don't take this wrong, but if you changed the backdrop to white rather than the sort of parchment tone you had before it is very hard on my eyes... If you changed nothing then my computer's gone batty....

  • Welcome to the wonders of working with Joomla. Updates to the software occasionally override the existing style sheets. As a result, I have to go back into the files and restore the style code every time it does. Give me a half hour or so and then do a hard refresh (shift+F5) and it should be back to 'normal'.

  • Ah, thank you! Not you, not my computer, but the underlying software for your site. Well, nothing you can do about that except keep on keeping on. Thank you for all your hard work.

  • Yep. Fortunately, the more I've learned of Joomla, the more I've been able to set things up in ways that don't get overridden as easily or often... and the things that do I'm familiar with enough that I can restore them fairly quickly. In truth, I shouldn't be applying updates directly to the running site version, but setting up and working with alternate 'test versions' involves just as much work as having to restore things this way. Yes, its safer... but I take some shortcuts to keep ahead of things so my amount of work doesn't exceed the hours I have available to get it done in.

  • Maybe it is just me, but the mobile/tablet version of the site has like...no border on the story pages now. The words go edge to edge, which may include the first or last letter of a line being slightly cut off.

  • The "forum rules" at the top of the topic and lt "edited by" bars are showing to me as a light blue on a lighter blue, which is somewhat hard on my eyes, even with my glasses on.

    The rules for the "edited by" bar seem to be set to blue on blue by template.css, bootstrap.min.css:

    .alert-info {
    background-color: #d9edf7;
    border-color: #bce8f1;
    color: #3a87ad;
    }

  • Yes, unfortunately, the 'alert' modes don't alter inline with the LESS or admin side template customization... which means you have to manually code the entire set of them. It isn't just one .alert-info ... there's about forty of them. :) In theory, the 'better' solution would be to use an existing alert mode that matches our palette (because really, they range through the whole color possible color scheme) but 'that' would require change php and not just style sheets. The template customization is surprisingly 'dumb' given how supposedly millions of people use joomla as the basis for sites.

    Can I change just the one until I have a chance to re-implement the more elaborate process of shifting the whole alert styles series into color compatible options? Yes, I suppose I can do that.

  • Not a complaint, because it doesn't bother me, but rather, an observation: for some reason, the styles post-upgrade appear to use a lot more horizontal rulers (or maybe they are more visible, that is, in more contrasting colors than before) than the pre-upgrade.

    Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

  • On the main forums category/thread lists? Ya... they do... not sure why though.

  • There... that should fix the left and right edge issue... and the colors of the basic alerts.
