    • Since people from SOL (stories on line) www.storiesonline.net are helping me with the editing and proofing of Nowhereville, (I really need a better title) would the admin here be opposed to me posting the final version at SOL as well as here? I do intend to make it my debut work at bigcloset... Anyway, your input is sought respectfully.

    • There has never been a requirement that WhatIF stories be published here at all, we merely provide the WhatIF process as a means of collecting both the Official as well as the Unofficial stories in one place.

    Feel free to post your own work wherever you please. If you like, add a link back to this site so anyone that’s interested can read other like stories.

    • Oh a link back here is going to have to be a given for any where except BCTS. Too much assumed knowledge! And I don't want to spend hours and hours documenting the Universe for a novella!

    • There is technically a requirement to include the "this is a fan fic" blurb that we've updated to a "this is a WhatIF" blurb... that was a requirement set by the original writers. But as long as you include that language, there is no limitation on where you post ... as long as no one is paying for the story (like any derivative work, basically).

    • I'm not sure if your What IF logo will translate, but I will be sure to put a notice that what I post is Whateley Independent Fiction, and a link (may not be active) back to this site. Not sure how Laz handles something like that. I'll have to look at Brandy De Winter's stuff from Morphs. Since some of it is posted at SOL. And I'm pretty sure I was able to get to her page telling about Morphs from SOL... Though I may have had to copy and paste the address. But most browsers will offer to search for anything you highlight in a separate tab, so... Meh it will be worked around.

    • doesn't have to be the actual graphic logo/mouseover bit. That's for convenience... if you CAN use it, it means that if we change the language or site address or anything similar, that it will update automatically because we just have to change the source image on our server and anyone who is using it updates automatically. All you 'have' to have is the wording that its a WhatIF as opposed to canon and that the canon and WhatIF's are home based here. Exact text?

    "Whateley Independent Fiction (WhatIF): is a body of non-canon stories set in the Whateley Academy Universe. IF may include canon characters and events but does not itself appear in the canon plotline or have any impact on the canon Universe. IF can range from simple fan fiction to fully realized, high quality works... researched to be as near to canon as possible or so far fetched that there is little to recognize of the original WU.
