Is this intentional? If not, do you have any idea why it is so?

Try opening this one [ Click to expand ] [ Click to hide ]Good. Now leave it open!
Now open this one as well [ Click to expand ] [ Click to hide ]See, you had to close the first one before opening this one.

Lets see shall we.

The manner in which they wrote the javascript makes it impossible to have multiple spoiler boxes open at once.Domoviye wrote: Huh, even if it's in a reply, one open spoiler stops the whole page.

That might be a reason but I don't believe so. The individual spoiler SPANs have no unique identifiers. Adding such an identifier and a few other code changes is all it takes. I suspect it's more of a lack of desire to do it differently. No one who works on those forums is bothered by the limitation. Additionally, it might be like to discourage over use of spoiler tags.Kristin Darken wrote: My guess is a security thing.

If you could say that again without using the word "they", I'd much appreciate it. I'm not sure what or who you are referring to.jmhyp wrote: They can't. The javascript and CSS won't allow it.

They is the plural form of it. One spoiler box is an it. Two or more spoiler boxes are theys.Arcanist Lupus wrote:

Spoiler boxes can't. The javascript and CSS won't allow spoiler box.
I'm afraid I still don't understand what you mean.
(And yes, I'm being deliberately obtuse with my quote there, but I truly don't understand what you're trying to say.)

Having read how the site is coded, spoiler boxes cannot embed within one another. There cannot be more than one open at a time. It's a limitation of the software. That limitation cannot be overcome with changes to the code that I assume are not going to happen. What else could I have meant?Arcanist Lupus wrote: So what you said was:

Adding the word "here" would have helped, because the previuos forum allowed nested spoiler boxes, and multiple openings and closings.

Moving the the CMS system allows us to add multiple layers of protection over the whole system and just not in the forums.
Since Kunena is created as an expansion of Joomla, it has to rely on alot of the Joomla back end to work. And Joomla doesn't like the spoiler box system being used by Kunena.
It may change if they do some updates and improvements on Kunena.
