  • How do you pronounce Jobe?

    Like "Jaw-buh" or "Joe-b"?

I think its the latter, which is like Biblical Job ? But I'm not sure...

  • I always thought it was Job with a long o sound rhyming with robe.

Although I have contemplated that Jobe is a clone of his "father" Joe and there is a Josie, Jody, Joseph, etc waiting to replace him.

  • I've always pronounced it like the biblical name Job.

  • Let's be incredibly geeky and work out the IPA for my pronounciation: d͡ʒoʊb

    I don't read IPA, I've drank a few though.

Is it bad that it takes 60+ characters to spell things phonetically? And why isn't that spelled fonetikalee?

  • Has anyone here read Ella Minnow Pea ? I heartily recommend it.

(The basic plot is that there's this island where they revere the creator of the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog", and when letters start falling off of the statue in the town square, the elders decide that this means that people should stop using those letters.)
