× Feel free to discuss any typical forums accepted topic here, Whateley or otherwise. Let's avoid the usual suspects: politics, religion, and so forth that tend to result in flame wars and angered forums readers. Other topics will be considered fair game unless they prove to be too volatile, at which point we'll use Devisor created anti-flame chemicals on the subject.

Question An aside, for crass commerce in June.

  • Alright, fair warning, if you don't like posts that talk about the money side of writing in any way, look away.

If you're still here, hi. If you're a fan of mine you might already know this, but I'm a bit on the poor side. So when my internet service provider raised my rates randomly this month... I realized I wouldn't be able to pay it.

So I have about two weeks before my internet gets shut off. So, I asked for and received permission to advertise.

I know many of you that come to this site don't really know me or what I do all that well yet, but I'm hoping enough of you like what I do and how I do it to check out the non-Whateley stuff I do (since I can't post anything Whateley for pay, let me be clear on that) and if you like them, support my ability to continue writing them with your couch cushion change.

That's all I ask and thank you for your time.

Unless I screwed up somewhere, the link will be in my profile. I'll post it here also, just in case:

  • Considering there is a small little knot of us over there, I don't mind bumping my pledge up a bit.

Nagrij writes a lot more than you'd expect, just saying. ;)

  • Oh, that's you! Hi. I do appreciate it.

I might write more than people suspect - I'm not sure how much they suspect I write. 20k words a month minimum is the pace, and I often exceed it.

  • Wish I had money, so I could give some...

Like... Maybe link to your BigCloset, from your Patreon or something? I was wondering what Memoirs of a Magical Girl was, and had to look it up.

  • Just in case you may have wondered how I knew about the non-Whateley works...

  • Oh hey, there's Mitffh and SidheElf... And VeryZenn, presumably. *shrugs*

But enough about that... Maybe also advertise with a plug to your Patreon at the end of your BigCloset stories... Then again, BC has its own tip jar thing... So, *shrugs*

  • Well linking the Patreon to BCTS is the next step, provided the powers at be there have no issue with it.

  • 'Most' of the Whateley authors can be found on the BCTS author list somewhere, if not necessarily under their obvious WA pseudonyms. A couple of the Gen 2 authors might not have published anything there... but almost everyone else has. At some point. And a number of authors also do a late posting of their WA stuff over on BCTS a month or two after they release it here, for those readers who are fans but for some reason choose not to visit us as a separate site.

  • It's more that it is unusual for them to be right next to each other in the author list.

  • I've been a fan of 'A Room In Hell' for awhile, so sure! Angels, demons, yep I'm interested so I signed up! :)

Hope it helps get you to your goal!

  • Thanks. And you can also read them on the Patreon, where all my chapters now go up first.

  • First you read Tia stories here, then you read Dim Prisons and Drakes stories here...then you find more of those on BC. Then you start reading Room in Hell stories...and find out that the Patreon is a few chapters ahead.

    Well played...

  •

I try to strike a reasonable balance between accessibility and 'I'm trying to do this for a living.'

But yeah, the first hit is free. :woohoo:
