It's partially dependent upon length of the stories. If there are vignettes, then there will be three. If there are just long stories or chapters then there will just be two. Hopefully writer production won't drop and it go back to one story a week.

  • Hi MadTech,

The number of stories posted is dependant on how many stories the authors have in the queue.

With the start of Gen 1 Year 2 there was a glut of stories for all the new characters all waiting for us to get to that milestone, so we amped up the delivery schedule so as to get them out to you sooner. Now that the glut has passed we've settled down into a more normal posting schedule again.

Stories from Joe Gunnarson, Elrod, and Morpheus; not to mention some of the works from other still active first generation authors!

My word I hit the site on Monday and Friday Multiple times looking for my fix here.

If you want more Whateley, you can always go through the non-canon stories, some of the writers are pretty good, and have unique characters... and then there is me.

  • Yep, if you've worked your way through the 12 or so million words of the Whateley canon.. there's probably at least another 5 or 6 million words in community written non-canon work. There's also, if you just want more by the authors you've been reading, a Library section that has some of the stuff we've written that it just unique fantasy/sci-fi, or is fan fic to some other universe.

The Forum-released stories don't generally get the exposure that canon stories do - which is good for when folks want to try out ideas that end up longer than a one- or two- scene romp, but don't want to put them through formal proofing, editing, etc.

Considering that the Rose Bunny has two multi-part stories going (Eire, and The Call of the Waters), each averaging 100 views per instalment, those works are likely to be a safe bet for someone jumping into reading the independent stories. How many NaNoWriMo authors have had that many people read their work more than once?

With regard to unique characters, I don't think anyone was expecting The Spanish Inquisition, um, Tapeworm.

    Forum-posted ideas are freely adoptable.
