If any story can lay claim to being as vividly terrifying as even lovecraft's least tame works, then this story takes the cake. And the buffet. And the party. And the punch. Oh, and the presents. It steals them, and turns them into things vaguely resembling a tentacle-covered conker. Except with more psychic screaming and more teeth.

I've tried reading other things to stop myself SEEING the bloody images that story gave me. But they don't get those bloody (Well, not bloody as in, well, blood. But I think you know what I mean) images out of my f**king head.
If I were a priest (or even vaguely religious in the slightest), I'd be trying to burn that text as a heretical and unholy monstrosity. If it was in print, it would look like that monster book from harry potter, except with more tentacles and legs.

This stuff would give H.R. FREAKING GIGER nightmares, and he's the genius who had me pissing myself in abject TERROR the first time I watched Alien when I was 13. I mean, it would give FRAKKING SLANEESH Nightmares, and she's the chaos god of f**king sex and overindulgence!!!

This is possibly the best horror story I have ever read, because right now??? I'm f**king terrified. I've definately failed my SAN checks, and I'm definitely losing some points for that.

Are you SURE none of you haven't just, y'know, SEEN the face of Cthulu, and thus been driven completely insane?? I'm f**king Crazy Minh, and I've seen things you would not believe!!!!!! Things that would abjectly terrify any six year old who walked into his parent's room at night to use the bathroom due to the other bathroom being broken, and finding his parents...you know, I'm not going to dredge up old memories. Let's just leave that thought nicely tucked up in the proverbial brain attic, shall we??? Where it can only cause trauma whenever you briefly attend parties and hear the thumping. The horrifically loud and rhythmic thumping that couldn't ever be called music....

...Well, about to go to bed in, like, 20 minutes or so. If I don't deliberately stay up and keep tinkering with the circuit board I've been practicing my soldering on. I screwed up the connections yesterday before I gave up, and I've already got so many broken components for this circuit that I've built a small model castle out of them. No, seriously. A small castle. I'm using it as a paperweight. Looks pretty good, although what I call 'looking good' is what I also call my 'best' artwork. I'm f**king terrible at art. My only good piece of work is a charcoal sketch of Hugh Jackman I did in High School art class. It looks like he has a limp sausage on his lip, and it is currently glaring at me. Strangely, it was one of the only things that survived the fire. Now, I've got it on the floor in my parents living room, and it is currently glaring at me. Luckily it only got scorched, so at least one childhood memory survived...damm, I just realised that I'm barely out of childhood myself. It was only a decade ago that I became a legal adult, so damm...makes you really wonder how small we are in comparison to time and space...

Shit, I've rambled on long enough. Welp, I'm going to try and watch some Psycho Pass before bed. Hopefully some good-old cyberpunk anime will take my mind off things!!!

I actually enjoyed the story, and its resulting plot-points. I only wish that we could have some continuation to some of the loose threads. Like the little one gestating in Jet's copy that was left behind. Heck, I would like to see more of Jet in general, and how she and Jade get along. Also, who is keeping Jet fed?

I'll have to re-read it at some point because it's been a while and I've forgotten the details, but I don't remember being horrified. There was that one antagonist figure who was kind of unpleasant, but otherwise the bulk of the story felt like an exciting game of Spore.

I thought it was awesome. And it doesn't give me nightmares sorry Mihn your mind is just weak...... we still love you though.
