Question Boku no Hero Academia. Or, "My Hero Academy"

Did I mess up? I thought I submitted this, but no sign of it.
A new, to me, Manga featuring a Super Hero school that seems to have a lot of parallels to the Whateley universe, and a lot of dissimilarities.
But if you're a fan of Whateley I think you'll enjoy it.

The Anime has previewed. Has a lot of hype and expectations. Here are the early reviews.

The main character has been taken under the wing of the Champion of this universe, and there are similarities. His particular Quirk/Power, which is very secret is, "All For One" It means the bearer can pass on his ability and power to a new person, and with each bearer of the power it becomes greater and greater.
One aspect of this anime I enjoy, and that reminds me of some of my favorite Whateley stories is that while there are some characters with ridiculously huge powers, the majority of them have abilities that are not really all that significant on the surface. they must be clever and learn how to get the most out of what they have, and to use brains instead of brawn in most cases.
Many of the characters would fit right in at the underdog table.

Well, if it gets picked up as the next big Shonen show, replacing the soon to be gone Naruto, then you can wait a couple of months and binge on a dozen episodes at a time. ^_^

I don't if I'm just incredibly picky but yeah alot of shows out there are...hmm crap? Seems to insult crap but...
Another good one that I've found is Psycho-Pass, I don't know if you already seen it, but if not I give it big thumbs up.
Many people hear voices when no-one is there.
Some are called 'mad' and shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day.
Others are called 'writers' and they do pretty much the same thing.

For example... everything on the CW .... every show on that channel is the same romance novel structured plot line, with an impossible love triangle, but with a slightly different setting - one's for superheroes, one's pseudo-period Scotland, one's contemporary fairytale, etc. The specific stories don't necessarily happen in the same order, but you can make up the entire show list of episodes from the same deck of plot cards.
And those tend to be some of the better shows... because at least they've got good plots. They have to, they've been refining those episodes for ten years of shows now.

Now I will admit to liking the Netflix 'Daredevil' and 'Jessica Jones' stuff. Funny yes at the right times, but oh so dark. David Tennent as 'Kilgrave' was awesome!!
'Arrow' was good at the start then they made him do that 'no kill' stuff and a 'symbol for hope'.
'Flash' is goofy, but a good goofy and enjoy seeing the twists they do to old characters, but lord the technobabel is worse than Star Trek.
'Limitless' again goofy but has it's serious moments and seems to be proud of its tongue cheek style and 4th wall breaks.
Trying to think of good shows is hard, which is a bad sign.

I'm not sure if I like the art style as much, though All Might's aggressively American Hero stylings are worth a laugh. Probably would have gotten a few more volumes if the entire shelf hadn't been rented out today.
It just got an order for a second anime season.
In the Manga they reference the fact that he looks like a Golden Age hero more than once, in a joking way.

Or rather, sports day.
They even say in the run up to it that broadcasts of their school's sports day draws better ratings than the olympics.
And then their is a gadgeteer chick who is in the Support stream, who sees this as a chance to display her 'babies' to all the corporate types in the audience,
And then the students from the marketing stream/agents, who are discussing how this or that student's performance will affect his potential earnings.

Midoria is slowly figuring this stuff out.
Manga is even more awesome! Such a beautiful example of a society that has long since passed the point in time this universe remains in, where powers are a minority instead of a majority.

Not to mention the obvious reference to Whateley. >>
Though in this case, it might be more placed at a point in the future of Whateley, since it's repeated many times that 80% of the population has a quirk, and it seems mostly accepted.
The one thing I would ding it on, is that it's early on predictable. If you know your tropes and got experience in those styles of stories, odds are you will have a good guess where things are headed, and your guess will land in a good ballpark area. All the way down to "You're a wizard, Harry."
Midoriya is one I consider a typical shonen main character, but he's established very well. He's hopeful, dreaming of great things and does want to be a hero. He's brought down real early as an underdog, with his dreams almost crushed to bits, and it's with a little luck, but thanks to his character that hes given a chance, and he takes it to heart. It's why you cheer him on, and it feels great to see him succeed. He doesn't just overpower things either. The odds are constantly stacked against him, and he often finds clever ways to progress forward, often turning a situation on it's head. You even see scenes where he has to evaluate the situation, listing down every facts that are useful, decide on a plan of action, not directly explaining the plan to the readers to leave tension, and seeing the plan unfold. Sometimes it works, sometimes... Well, I won't spoil too much.
I'm more curious about All Might's character though. For once, we get to see the character of the struggling teacher, someone trying to pass the torch, knowing things aren't looking good for him, but he must keep on inspiring others for the sake of society. It's incredible pressure on one's shoulders, and he has to do it without flinching, even if he's not used to some parts of it. He's still learning some parts of being a teacher.
As mentioned by others, there's a LOT of characters around, each one deeper than the usual types, so I can't go through everyone. I am curious on the rival Bakugo though. They've clearly spent time developing his character and his background, the whole thought process of why he thinks he's the best and hates the idea of being challenged. You might say his personality is as explosive as his power, but there's more to that. At first, it even felt like his whole personality was more fitting for a villain, but even Midoriya admits that he's changing. I do want to see where they're going with this one.
What I am also happy to see is evolution of the characters as we progress. Nothing made it more apparent than at the sports festival, when the 0 robots showed up, and we got a picture of Midoriya's reaction back at the entrance exam and how he stared down at the contest. I could feel my chest swell with pride.
The last arc of the first season was real good for action too. Lots of danger, lots of action, tension, and the situation kept on changing into new threats at every acts. It was a bit ridiculous, but I was cheering on.
So yes, I do recommend watching it, even more so to younger readers who might not know these tropes. I'm betting it would blow their minds to see them executed this way. There's grounds I can predicts, and directions I can see coming, but I find myself cheering none the less.

In the end reality is only consensual! It means that Al Gore is causing "Global Warming" by his rhetoric alone! Fortunately, there are enough Global Warming "Deniers" still about to keep him from boiling the planet.
