  • What is the consensus on the Brave Browser?
    Positives?
    Negatives?

  • So they are going to replace other people's ads with their ads, and apart from that you just get Chromium. And it logs your browsing activity and sends it back to Brave Software. The prospect of earning a few cents in exchange for being monitored does not seem appealing to me.

If they gain enough market share to matter, I'd expect them to get buried in lawsuits. Heck, what they are doing might even be illegal in the EU right out of the gate. Finally, they are not the first company to try the pay to surf business model, and so far no one has managed to make this idea viable for any length of time.

All in all, I don't think I'll be switching to the Brave Browser any time soon.
