  • I'm still working on my DeVille stories, but more and more as I'm working on them I'm just not happy with setting them towards the end of the Kimba's time at Whateley [2008-2009], and am thinking editing things to a slightly different time frame.

    I'm thinking of
A: sliding DeVille to before the Kimba's arrive by a few years
B: to just after they're out of there, but I'm not gonna run into Gen2 [2012 ish],
C: slide them into the G2 setting which presents it's own issues.
D: should I just tough it out and keep my stories set where I started them?

    Thoughts?

  • De Ville is a different continent. Timing it to match Whateley would therefore be about when the characters interact with each other.

    When is this happening?

    Why is it happening?

How would the timeframe of Whateley effect this?

Currently I have things writen so Kara is in, or about the same grade level as Sanjay, mostly cause I had the idea that the two of them are rivals, and she was highly amused by his screw up and the fall out from the events of Evil Little Christmas. Namely that Dr Dad and maybe other effected parties turn Sanjay into either a mobile, or immobile, living replica of the Venus. still flip flopping on if Sanjay gets to move into the girls dorm and has a slim chance of graduating or is posted in the lobby of the school with a sign, put there by Kara, saying "Please fondle" and will "live" there for a very very long time..

Why is the interaction happening; ... Ah... crap now that I'm thinking, and revising, I'm asking myself "Ok Why did you wanna move them to Whateley again? To spy on the Spy kids and some nebulous other reasons?" And countering with "Why not keep the concept of Kara's a low level mutant, Shi's working to cyberize herself, and Boris [Really need to come up with a better name] gets himself cursed into a lovely young lady on a training job, and just keep them all at DeVille and the first two are trying to hide things from the teachers, and Boris is working to get changed back to the blue side?"

How the time frame would effect the story is mostly what fun toys/events both fictional and real life I can include n things. With the TK+2/3 years I have all the G1 stuff as a frame work. G2 got a bit less framework, but Oh the toys! Kara is begging me for a VI named Tach. TKGrad+1 means I have the toys being developed as the story goes along for 'upgrades'.

-rubs chin- Ok, more and more I'm leaning towards keeping them at DeVille, and maybe having them do a Ninja style raid on Whateley instead o infiltrating the school as agents. Have to think about this some more.

  • After reading the latest Gen2 chapter, I'm leaning more and more towards sliding Kara to Gen2 setting, just cause the stuff i was plotting for her and her class mates fit better with the stuff happening in the gen2 setting.

  • There would be a nice thread of Cold-War stories from the 1970's, looking at real events from our planet's history, and giving them a nice spin in the Whateley-verse.

The Deville Academy would make a great setting for some of the European-theatre stories of what really took place in the background....

    Does anyone remember "Condorman"?

I can thankfully say No I do not, it came out before I was born.
