Question 2 Characters.

One has the ability to change a persons appearance by using another persons DNA such as hair, fingernails and possibly a swab test. I'll not go the other route.
The other is where the person is able to change their vocals to exactly match the voice of another person. This one has limited flying as with, (I'm guessing here) a level 1 shielding.
It's been awhile since I've last asked and I'm slightly nervous of doing this as I've given my idea's only to find them being used by others.

Then again, you could make one the nemesis of the other, maybe.

Yes, I had some feedback on the first, but I'm also not against reusing another character. Why? Because even if they have the same ability, they are different individuals. An I've already thought along who their backgrounds, but get muddled with other details.

The second one sounds like Reverb , but also most any other Siren. I found that out when I wanted to make an Echo (NSFW? Nude Painting) character that was also a Power Mimic...
*Wonders if Reverb is a Siren...*
Lol! I got Ninja'd! ... Ugh. It's ~hour to midnight... Gotta sleep.

The 'good' Doctor Emil Hammond employed the services of a mutant with codenamed "Mask" to alter his appearance.

But honestly I'm not sure if I want her to mimic others. I've kinda leaned along the lines of past people, cartoon characters and such.

So Character A can change Person B to look like Person C using C's DNA?
In canon stories, many of the changes associated with a manifestation (imposition of a BIT or developing MATD, changes caused by a spirit to its host, etc.) aren't coded in the DNA. Some are. But for the vast majority of people on the planet, that's not really an issue.
The potential uses/abuses of a power like that range from inspiring to gut-wrenching.

Available technology can handle voice masking, flight, and shielding if you want a different kind of "power-suit jockey" than we've seen (I don't recall any that have that particular set of abilities)
Sirens might have only the voice emulation, but some "package deal psychic" or a "PK superman" should be able to use PK/TK for the siren power, plus flight and a PK shield.
Via magic? Oh yeah. A little research, a bit of planning, and your own mother would turn you in as the "clone" or "impostor" (One of my OCs has the illusion spell to pull it off; evoking a fire spirit allows an option of flight and gives him a measure of hardened armor as a side effect)

IIRC, some independent writers use their signature block to notify people whether their ideas can be freely used or not. But sometimes two people can and will arrive at disturbingly similar ideas independently.

Yes, but I've imposed a limitation, but to me the ability is great in some respects. I'm not looking at a superman type person but someone that can only use the ability on shall we say certain people.

Very True

To be honest, I'm looking at the siren as an after effect. And as I plot out more of the story (which I honestly have in my head) it will be further explained.

That's true, only the story's came out after I talked to them about it. So yeah, I didn't try to make a big deal out of it. It's not like I was going to get compensation.
So for here, these code names, I'd like to claim as mine until I relinquish them.

into another.
Trust me, I've thought of that.

Lets just say, it doesn't bode well.

Sure it would be awesome, but you know, I think that would be the least of their problems.
My other problem is which route to go. I've never done a first person perspective. This will be a place for me to really cut my teeth as with getting (hopefully) some much needed input on writing.

I'll have to search through my horded messages on what someone sent me back over a few years ago (literally). I won't mention names as I'm sure she forgot about it.
Not all teens have traumas - unlike certain others who can't seem to leave them behind - you know who you are beef cakes.

Except for race, those are usually the last things I fill out on a character sheet.

A friend of mine in our RPG group firmly believes in getting disadvantages/negative traits/qualities down first, and then going for broke running with them. The results have been some very memorable characters.
I like to start from some concept that catches my eye, building outward from there, and fitting the setting as best as I can.
