Looks like I'm the new kid and be damned if I know what to say but suppose "Hi" is as good a start as any.
You might say I have zero familiarity with chat rooms - the correct manners to employ are not known, so pardon my inexperience. My life so far has been bound to the brick and mortar world, but an imagination is a terrible thing to waste.

As a fellow newcommer, i welcome you in this hospitable domain.
Well, i don't think we have "rules" per se regarding introductions but personally i would be interested in knowing how you came across the Whateley universe, or even what you have read so far.

Good to see a new face!
In regards to your inexperience, I guess we'll teach you? And hopefully we'll teach you well?
So, you want to be a WhatIF Author ? ... Then again, that's not the only creative avenue. There was art before, and there will be art again?

Fortunately for you, there is no chat room here. The closest thing we've got is the Shout Box, And most people don't bother using that because its just as simple/quick to carry on a conversation with forums posts.
Nonetheless... welcome

Which begs the question, "What on earth were you searching for?"

Ideally something not on the earth, my true love is science fiction and in my quest for entertainment I had read Robert Heinlien's Stranger in a Strange Land, many moons past.
The idea of gender reversal has stayed as an interest.
Hence a search for transgendered stories brought me to your shores.
I might put forward escapism too, so as to be occupied beyond the daily grind, nothing finer than a good story to make you laugh or cry and give you something to chew on.

Ah, Stanger in a Strange Land, I think that was my first book with sex-change themes too.

Looks like I'm a bit late on this, but welcome to the community, Camospam. It's always good to have more people around here.

Welcome here, Camospam.
With that said...
uhhh... WHAT? There's a lot of interesting stuff in "Stranger in a Strange Land", and there's a bit of alternate sexualities, but the only mentions I can remember of sex change in that book were pretty marginal (Martians being female during their nymph life-stage and male during the adult stage, and on the "Afterlife" scenes there might be a mention about it being possible to reincarnate in a different gender... but that's about it).
Heinlein books with deal more explicitly with gender changes would be "I Will Fear No Evil," "The Number of the Beast" and the short story "All You Zombies." "Time Enough for Love" slightly touches on the issue, but does not explore it.

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

I think The Moon is a Harsh Mistress was mine, a computer that had both a male and a female personality. Then again I did like name of the main character in Stranger better.
Welcome, the consistency of story quality, here, is better than most sites. Watch out for some of the fanfic characters, they will try to drive insaner.
Don't Drick and Drive.
