  • Hey!

I first discovered Whateley Academy about a year ago thanks to Jade's entry on TVTropes' Mundane Utility page. (She's since become my favourite Kimbette.) I held off on creating an account mostly due to the request for a real name and also because this isn't something I'd want my parents to know about. I decided to finally create an account due to a few fan-fic ideas I've had. That said, I've never done any creative writing outside of high school/elementary school English classes. (Note: I never had middle school, my school district jumps straight from Grade 7 in elementary school to Grade 8 in high school. On that note, the terms freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior were never used outside of junior and senior sports teams. I figure it could be interesting having a student arrive not knowing what those words mean.)

I wasn't expecting the waiting to be approved part, but it makes sense that you wouldn't want to be spammed. The few days waiting for approval was very suspenseful and felt more like a week than 3 days.

Insanity: for when normal just isn't interesting enough.

  • Welcome!

It's not necessary but we DO have a special forum for WhatIf (fanfic) writers... just let Kristin know if you're interested in looking into that.

and, yeah... we'd like to be more easy to join but we, like most websites out there nowadays, are constantly under attack by spammers, bots and such so we need people to wait a bit while we can verify they're real.

If and when I post something, I'll just be starting in the workshop. As I said, I have 0 experience with writing, so I'd like to start small.

  • Welcome.

You can write some Micro-Scenes to test the water if you want to begin with something small.

The request for real names is just part of the stock Joomla registration. We don't actually care if you have a real name there... many of the authors come from a TG Fiction background, but the Whateley Academy stories (while clearly still heavily transformation/TG oriented) do have plenty of mainstream appeal. So we understand the need for feeling you need to keep your reading habits hidden from family/friends who aren't understanding. Especially in the current political climate.

The only thing we DO care about is that you don't use a throw away email that closes in a day or two because system errors and password changes and that sort of thing DO require a functional email, otherwise they bounce and that hurts our mailing system rep (which means that email software is more likely to treat us as junk mail). Also, enough bounces and such and we could lose our free mailing... which is not a trivial factor. :)

Ah... sorry, Warren usually gets those much faster but... uh... I accidentally locked him out of the admin side of the site while dealing with the recent patch problems. So, totally my fault there.

Whateley was pretty much my introduction to TG fiction and I've started reading several transformation webcomics like El Goonish Shive and The Wotch because of it. It has certainly been an adventure and has made me question my own identity, though even before reading I wouldn't have considered myself very masculine anyways.

Don't worry. I used my main email. I'd like to respond to replies without constantly checking the thread.

Lol, oops. It wasn't too bad and got resolved quickly enough.

  • Welcome to the forum. Your straitjacket is on the counter, and the nice men in white coats are here to help you. The rooms are nice, rather posh! padded and everything!

Don't tell Kristin I got out of my room though, or she'll send the guys with the tazers. That's just not fun for anyone.

  • Here, use my invisibility cloak, I don't really need it, the tazers don't work on me anyways.

But but. I thought you liked the tasers. You always seemed to be having fun with them. Though you really should stop stuffing them down your pants. No one wants to touch hem after that. And they are so hard to get clean.

Oh, great. Another insane asylum. How am I supposed to juggle my time between both this one and /r/RWBY?

  • When thinking about my potential WhatIF, I'm realizing my in universe posts might be more sane than the posts I make as myself.

Huh? I don't stuff Taser's down my pants. That just don't bother me. Too much insulation. Stop trying to shift blame for making the tasers too disgusting to touch to other people.

Which is almost as terrifying to opponents as the name Taserface!

  • If you put a working taser down the back of your pants, arent you likely to get an unexpected ignition?

I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

If you are doing it right how can it be unexpected.
