  • Hello. I am known in various sites as "Bobbie C" and other permutations of Bobbie C (such as Bobbie, Bobbi, Bobbie-C, et cetera). Please try not to forget the "IE" at the end, or just "I" if you prefer, and not use a "Y" - not a big deal, really: it's just a gender thing, but I'll probably gently point out the near-miss in the spelling if you do make the mistake. lol.

I've been writing off-and-on for some years now, and I like to think I write passably well, If you're at all interested to check, I have most of my non-Whateley chicken-scratchings organized in the Big Closet site, or BCTS, which I know many of you are familiar with: look for the entries under the author name, "Roberta J. Cabot," or you can take a look at my author page: bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book/14775/roberta-j-cabot

I have put up about 130 individual stories/poems/chapter posts, contained in about 30 titles, all in that BCTS author page. Please feel free to check it out, and if you want to know more about me, check out my old blogs, too, also in my author page.

I have exactly ONE! (lol) published story, published in 2001, just as I was graduating from college, but it is (thankfully lol) out of print. I came to have that one story printed because I won a writing contest for a new publishing imprint that was launching at the time, and they wanted ten new authors to feature, and they selected them via that contest.

The prize was some cash - not much - and to have my submission published as a book. Thank goodness, too, because that gave me cash to buy my first car and put the first months' rent for my first apartment. This was a big help as I was able to move out of my folks' place, and look for my first job.

As you noticed, I did not mention the title of the book, the author's name I used on that book, and the publishing house's name. lol. That wasn't an accident, as I'm not too proud of that book (I mean, talk about a melodramatic romance story! Cheese for miles! lol), and I only mention it here to show you that I do, indeed, have some writing credentials. lol. And, to paraphrase, the doctor, the assembled hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get them out of me, and believe me, they've tried. lol.

To tell you the truth, I am very new to the Whateley universe, having only read (and enjoyed) isolated stories, but I am, however, very familiar with the large body of work of such authors as Maggie Finson, Morpheus and Elrod, in sites like FM and BCTS. I am, of course, also familiar with the reputation and popularity of Whateley, especially among the members of BCTS and other similar sites.

I am trying to familiarize myself with the universe details, though, since I have ambitions to write some Whateley stories myself, and am starting to read the stories in order, beginning from "Welcome to Poe."

Anyway, that's it. Hope to see you around.

My name is Bobbie, and and it's a pleasure to be here.

That's Bobbie with an "IE," okay? Lol. Also, Bobbie's stuff is at bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book/14775/roberta-j-cabot

  • It's like the Alamo... but it always comes before the E... except when following C... or something like that.

"I before E, except after C - unless it's as 'A' as in NEIGHBOR and WEIGH"
    or something like that.

Unless it's German, in which case it's IE if it's prounounced as "ee" or EI if it's pronounced as "ay"
And other languages have their own rules. Except Klingon....
