Question I'm Back.

Hi there, finally made it onto the new site and a bit to talk about but I'll keep it short.

So, I'm coming out as transgendered to my friends and fans online which means I needed to come and let you all know. It's been a long time coming and I couldn't feel better about it.

Please call me Branwen.

Glad to have you back. No doubt this has been a huge distraction for you; glad you're happy with the decision. Post when you want to comment on something, or if you want to let us know how your journey is going, or for anything else that pops to mind. And if / when your muse (also TG perhaps? and hopefully as happy as you?) puts you in the mood to write and IF it happens to be a certain characer, let me know and I'll help someone find a certain piece of Tyvek hidden in the labs.

It is good to see your return. Will this include the resurrection of your missing library stories as well?

For all who are giving me a look for immediately asking about the story I was pining for months ago this time I'm asking out of curiosity. This time, given my appetite for reading and rereading I can not guarantee that I won't be doing that next time.

It is but strangely (for me) it wasn't so intentional. It meant something that I enjoyed and my girlfriend loved it because it can be spelt 'Miyu' in Japanese. As in the vampire princess anime... ^.^j

"Branwen" can be spelt "Miyu"? Man, Japanese spelling is weird...

I'll have to get Ann to come in and explain it. As I recall it's because characters have multiple translations/meanings.

That makes sense. Chinese characters can mean two or three different things depending on the words around them, there placement in a sentence and other things.
Since Japanese writing originally came from China they have the same idiosyncracies.

Pleased to meet you Branwen, I'm glad things are working out for you. Long time fan of your work, no pressure but I'd love to see you take up the word processor again. I've missed Sara and your Shadowrun story set down under. Come to think of it, you've just been missed with or without stories. Cheers.

Hey, Doc... on a different matter... I was just looking at your page at the Wiki, and I noticed that one of your non-Whateley workds (Lucifer's Daughter, set in Maggie's Heaven & Hell universe) apparently was only ever published on the old Whateley forums... which are no longer available.
Would you have any objections to that story being migrated to the "Library" section at this site?

Good to see you back, Branwen. Depending on how things go, you may get to meet an Alice somewhere down the line, though that will depend on quite a few IRL factors that are still in quantum superposition for the moment.

1. Sir Lee: I would absolutely LOVE for Lucifer's Daughter to be in the Library. Permission enthusiastically granted. And indeed, if there are other stories that people would like to migrate, I'd definitely glad to look at them and give my blessing. If you need original word files of any of my work, I can rustle them up.

2. What happened to me? Ok, so, I went to the dentist two weeks ago and they had to pull a molar. Why? Apparently I'm under so much stress I literally split the tooth in half by clenching/grinding/biting too hard. So, yeah, somewhere between job and house hunting and transition and trying to write again I need to learn the art of relaxation. Yayyyy!

If you have any stories you had up in the old forums that I haven't already migrated, and you don't feel like entering them yourself into the system, I'm happy to do it for you.

I'd offer you some of my relaxation techniques, but the last time I tried them the police came. There was a lot of talk about excessive noise, causing a public disturbance, crimes against humanity and so on. So probably not the best method in the world.

Would this be an awkward time to congratulate you on how you're getting your life on track?

Wow, great to seE you back and congratulations on the transition. Also awesome to see Lucifers Daughter up in the library, going to have to reread that one.

As for other stories I think the only one of yours that's not been ported over or availible on another site is No Time for Second Chances. Would be great to see that get ported over if your happy with it.

I really want to be surprised about this, but I am not.

Rubberjohn sent me a copy of "No Time for Second Chances", so its been migrated too (awaiting Kristin).

If there are any other stories from the old Author forums people have that need to be migrated, please pass me the copies.

It's rough, not going to lie. I don't know when I'll be able to get more done for Whateley, I'm having enough trouble with other projects, moving out with my girlfriend, losing weight and coping with transition. Losing the weight has been very successful though, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

The good news is that, generally speaking, losing excess weight improves your general disposition to do other things. Although in some cases the "other things" consist in thinking constantly about food...

Oh yes, I'm combatting that part with what I've mentally dubbed 'hunger management'. Eating less more often for a start but I've found that balancing my diet, making sure I'm having enough of all the different nutrients (salt, fat, protein, carbs, sugar, vitamins, calcium), helps with that tremendously.

I've been very successful at it too - last year I lost 30kg, I'm already down 8 this year. I'm currently on a plateau around 92kg which I hope to break this week.

Oh and it is legally Renae too, all paperwork done and just trying to figure out the actual getting it paid for and doing it. I am so very happy for you! I had to hit the utter rock meet floor side of things myself, and well, Here I am OUT IRL etc.
