  • Hello Crystal Hall,

I am Wyverntamer, a novice writer and experienced roleplayer. I like writing about a lot of stuff, but my main character is the supervillain/Grim Reaper of the Multiverse, Jerion Kràl. His nickname is Wyverntamer, and contrary to what you might believe now, he is named after my account, instead of the other way around. I have one writing 'library' on the terraria forums, which is also where I am the most active, both RP wise and writing wise.

Two things you need to know about me:
    One, I'm not my characters, no matter how much I may sometimes act like them;
Two, I really like watching thunderstorms from inside the house, reading, gaming and sleeping.

  • Or indeed little girls with big shirts and Hello Kitty guns...

I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

  • Just beware, play it safe don't limit yourself, even paranoid people can have enemies, and yeah 'Hello Kitty' huge red flag. ;)

    Seriously welcome.

Many people hear voices when no-one is there.
Some are called 'mad' and shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day.
Others are called 'writers' and they do pretty much the same thing.

For my part, welcome to the forums. It looks like you've got your own little cosmic mythology brewing there, so I'm interested to see what you might try to do with the Whateley setting. I assume you'll try your hand and writing some fanfiction?

  • Yeah, I'll try to write some fanfiction, though it'll probably take a long long while, since I have to get a job and all that due to my parents interfering with my normal life. (Would hesitate to call it social;)) But yeah, and there'll probably be some inconsistencies, since I don't really know what is going on at Whateley, but there'll probably just be a new character who is introduced.

  • We find that by the time most people get through the back log of reading material, that they are fairly solid on understanding the universe. There's a few things that are slanted due to the perspective of most of the stories (they're written from teenager at a special boarding school perspective, after all... that DOES impact their understanding of the rest of the world)... but mostly, people who actually want to write as close to canon as possible, can. We still have some people who try to shoehorn stuff that is clearly not WU standard into the 'verse just for purposes of fanficcing... but there's a surprising amount of GOOD fan fiction here.

    And welcome! :)

Welcome, and beware of guns that turn you into Hello Kitties with Big shirts on.

I wish you luck, the best kind as you worm your way through the mountain of backlog you now face. Take your time as it won't diminish unless you're a speed reader and have the memory of a computer that never turns off and an index feature that allows you to bring it all together.

Also don't be afraid of trying your hand at fanfic, noodling or whatever you wish to craft your skill at.

In other words, be involved with the forum. That's what its here for. Nothing worse than being a member with nothing to say. Not that I'm advocating that you comment on everything. Far from it. Its a great community and for some a way to get feedback.

Also be afraid of little girls running around screaming, "Run away little girl, run away!!!" You may find that your the little girl running away with a big shirt on saying "Hello Kitty"

What is - was. What was - is.

  • A small question that I was hoping you could answer, what would someone who doesn't die be classified as? I have her backstory as follows: She crosses a railroad for a bet but gets hit by a train, being... not entirely together anymore, she finds that she doesn't die, but instead green almost liquidlike tentacles come out of the cut-off limbs and pull her together, the wounds stay however.

  • I think I'd go with a straight up Regen, with a GSD problem. An injury triggered regen as opposed to a sort of 'always on' version... where the important thing to the regen is functional anatomy and it will use any available organic compounds as replacement material for tissue but will ideally reconnect its own prior . The resulting physical form is an organic humanoid mass that displaces all critical functions of a normal human body throughout its whole, so if you got chopped up in cubes, each cube would still be able to sustain itself and reconnect to the whole. Below a certain size, though, memory becomes a dicey thing, because there's only so far you can distribute nervous system and brain functions before you lose something. But until such time as injuries became so severe as to replace the whole body... this would do exactly what you suggest.

  • Smaller question than before, where do I sign up to be a fan fiction author? And has anything fundamentally changed since 'The Transfer Students'?

P.S. For those of you wondering, I'm Dutch, an avid reader and have read about two hours worth of time.

You'll most likely be waiting on Kristin to give you access to creating posts in the relevant section, unless some of the other authors have the ability to do so.

As for how much has changed, a reasonable amount. But more than that, the intervening time sheds light on a considerable amount of context. Ranging from how the Whateley school year operates through particulars of some classes. Filling out the faculty and student roster, to defining interactions between all the characters, not to mention the characters themselves. And that's just the school itself. It's a wider world out there, and one that's far from disconnected.

By all means, formulate plots and ideas, but I'd recommend not getting too set on any particular course until you're more up-to-date. That is of course assuming you intend to adhere somewhat to the setting itself? Else you might be better off working on something more your own, and merely drawing inspiration from around here.

Regardless, welcome and enjoy your stay! Always good to see new faces on the forums, and I hope to see you around in the coming months.

Seriously, thank you for your time and effort. It is appreciated.

  • Oh boy, quite a bit happened since "The Transfer Students." Without being spoilerish, let me see...

Halloween happened. Well, I'm not quite sure if TTS came out before the official Halloween stories were published, but it chronologically takes place before Halloween, so... yeah. And Halloween was a big deal.

Then, end of the Fall term. Lots of stuff happened, not only at the school itself but nearby too, with some of our favorite students involved.

And the Christmas/New Year break. Most of the Kimbas had notable adventures, but also some of the other students.

Meanwhile, there was all that brouhaha in Hell's Kitchen, New York... and other parallel events going on in Cincinnati, OH and around Sacramento, CA...

Coming back in January... well, let me just say that there were some big changes to the social structure at the school. And Ayla's birthday, which, being a Goodkind, NO WAY would be an quiet affair with only half a dozen close friends.

And then ElrodW and Morpheus came onboard -- and the Elrod/Nalley team started shaking up things in a big way...

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

The Wiki Page on the Academy itself has some location data. Wait a minute and I'll edit it in. Here.

But now it is even longer than that.

Welcome to the community by the way. As one of the recluses on the forum I don't get to say that often.
