Last chance to weigh in.

If you are a Fan Fiction Author, please take a little time to check out the thread about upcoming decisions to be made regarding the fan fiction process and visibility. I'm going to give the discussion another week for people to weigh in and then I'm going to post some votes. If you aren't already a fan fiction author and you are interested in doing some writing in the Whateley Universe at some point in the future, canon or otherwise... it might benefit you to get informed. The initial discussions and voting are restricted to people currently registered and promoted to fan fic author status... the followups based on those decisions will be open to all registered members.
And, of course, if you aren't registered and part of the community; your voice won't be heard.
In other news, our latest code update resulted in some CSS loss; so I had to make some template changes. Most things should be back to where they were, but it is also possible that I'm exploring new font and layout options. The most recent changes have been based on clearing up navigation... making buttons more visible, tightening up the front end of the site, and so forth. Please let me know if one of these re-do's misses something that makes the site work for your screen... or for that matter, if something changes that is more useful than normal. That's how I'll narrow down things that stay in the long term design over things that I try and revert.
For today's content release, we're going to stay in the G2 timeline but step outside the core plotline for a bit more character development. This time, it's for one of our Japanese protagonists: Mageohki's Hikaru in "Glimpses of the Sun." Enjoy!

Having followed the new site from it's inception, it is my humble opinion that this reborn Crystal Hall (by any other name) has been getting easier to use and enjoy, little by little, month after month.
I would certainly welcome more fan fiction but I understand the challenges having seen the wonderful old site go down in flames. Keep up the good work.
Go to the MAIN Menu (upper right corner of the site). Click COMMUNITY.
On the COMMUNITY Menu (center just above the banner ad), click FORUM.
On the FORUM Menu (below the center banner ad), click INDEX.
Scroll down. There are three public (non-author/staff) sections of the forum.
The first is the Crystal Hall section - Public announcements, greetings for new arrivals, an Open OOC section, and a site feedback/suggestions area.
Below that is the Story response/feedback sections. These are divided up between Story/Arc, Character, and Concept discussions... and also include a section for Non-canon stories (library and featured fan fic).
The THIRD group of forum sections is all about Fan Fiction and writing. There's a writing workshop area for posts on writing tools and writing learning process. There's a general OOC for people to talk about fan fic. There's a private section that is ONLY visible to fan fic authors and canon/staff, so fan fic authors can ask and get feedback from the canon authors on things that no one wants to spoiler for readers. Then there are the fan fic stories section and the feedback section for those stories.
None of this should be all that hard to find (and its all clearly labeled). If you're having a hard time navigating the forums, my best guess is that you are NOT looking at the Index. Or that you have somehow changed your settings in your profile to display the forums in something other than their default layout.
I work outside all day and sometimes my brain doesn't want to engage for a few hours after I get off.
Whatif's into this universe!..
There is plenty of room here and, its just begging for more
stories.
Just about all of my favorite authors are here though, I do wish a canon author would rejoin and another favorite of mine could at least visit with one of her characters from her universe over to Whately..They arer kindred spirits.
