  • So I was challenged by Dreamer to write a short story with my daughter.
    I did so.
She came up with the characters and the bad guy plot, I wrote it.
She had recently seen a great uncle preform a magic trick with a coin and thought that being able to slap things out of the air would be cool, and she remembered a scene from Spider-Man where a girl hits the bad guy with a trophy and wanted that to happen in the story, so that was the first hero.
Then she couldn't think of a second hero, and when I pressed her she started laughing, she had pictured a friend of hers having the body of superman while keeping her own head.
The third one was from me but with her help. She was pretending to walk in slow motion as we shopped, and I said what if the third friend could slow things down. She thought that was overpowered, so we made it for five seconds only, and the girl is always affected by her power when in use.

The bad guy was her take on the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. She thought a man eating giant would be cool.

So we had the characters, the problem, and we quickly agreed on setting it in a mall.

    Here are the characters.

Angelica: Can manifest objects up to the size of a bus, usually makes it appear in the air as she slaps, but can also drop them on peoples head.

Carla: Can manifest a superstrong shell that can fly, has superstrength and super endurance. Usually manifests as Superman by accident.

Scarlett: Can slow down or speed up time for one object or person and herself (she can do herself individually, or herself and the one thing) for five seconds.

Fee Fi Fo Fum: A size warper who can grow to fifty feet in height. Likes eating people

  • I quite liked it. The only complaint I have is that you failed to put in a lot of apostrophes. When you show possession (someone's stuff) or give credit (someone's action) you need an apostrophe to denote the fact. Still an easy and fast read that otherwise seemed well done.

  • I was writing it on my iPad so it's not as neat as I usually do it. I'll edit it on Monday, maybe.
Thanks for reading and commenting, now I just need to read it to my daughter to see if she likes it.

  • Nice story!

And the adults get shown up by kids! LOL!

Although, the kids 'are' working in a team, unlike the supers...
