Of course not, that's not safe for Miri, what about having three ragers and dealing with some heavy duty shit? Not to mention that unless Cait has learned shielding she can't keep her out o her head, which can be a privacy issue for Cait and a safety one for Miri, Cait's mind is a minefield after all. At least until Miri gets her telepathy under control.JG wrote: Hate to break it to you, but Miranda Mahren isn't slated as an add for Outcast Corner in any planned publishing.
However, I'm willing to bet that that any bully targeting her will need to have a new anus cloned due to how hard it has been torn, not that the Outcasts will be the only ones taking offense for a such behaviour, whoever goes after a ten years old gilr is bound to be quite unpopular (BTW, she's manifesting at the age of 10? She's going to be a powerhouse).

Also, I seem to recall that someone (Kristin?) said that the theory that 'early manifestation == probably high power level' is wrong. I think it was hinted that it wasn't entirely wrong, but that the correlation didn't mean was what it seemed to.

Or a nine year old gadgeteer 4+.
Or Ember and Diz.
All of which are a very real danger to self and others.

I wouldn't say so. 10 years is pushing it, but perfectly doable with the proper training and the right recommendations.

And how many telepathic Mahrens are there in the world?
Although I think the timeline is closer to 8 years from the microscene to Rises the Sun.

2: Contrary to what most believe, you don't have to be an college graduate to be an officer. Yes, it's far more uncommon now but if you had the skills to be an officer, or a critically needed skill? Officer you went if you didn't reject the offer. Getting a degree is easy, more or less.
So, you'd think that the Army wouldn't leap for joy at having a PDP! of high level trained for 6-7+ at WHATELEY? Dude, don't know what planet you're on, but they'd offer, no they'd INSIST that she takes bars, and that they'll get her the degree during her service.

Lets not forget the grunts might take offense if a relative of Mahren get's picked on. The Gunts would likely have a of respect from them. As would much of the security staff and teachers.

Group A: Bullies who couldn't get guns.
Group B: Allies who could get guns... but would be to disciplined to use them. Because Mahren taught them better.
Well that's an interesting conflict.

- The Bully-busters, by default, of course.
- The Outcasts, since they know Caitlin is Mahren, and therefore Miranda is "family"
- The Grunts, out of a sense of duty
- The Hooligans, since they were the students who had seen Mahren's more fun-loving side and actually LIKED him.
Not that Caitlin actually needs any help to make a bully regret being born... but she can't be everywhere.

Let's face it, any person stupid enough to give someone from Hawthorne grief is basically an organ donor in waiting, the students in Hawthorne aren't there because of the mildness of their powers, nor how in control of them they are.

Even without JROTC, a four-year degree and age between 19 and 32 are the big hurdles for OCS.
College ROTC programs cannot officially sign up cadets/midshipment that aren't at least 17, but that still gives two years to finish up a degree and still be a 19-y.o. butterbar.

I think you are missing my point. AFAIK, no one - even JG - has said Miranda (or at least the version of Miranda in the micro) is going to be brought into canon at all. Perhaps I missed an announcement about her or something? I know some of the CC (TINCC) have used the micros as teasers, JG among them, but that doesn't mean that a micro from JG is going to be a teaser.
In fact, this would be just about the perfect time to hit us with a red herring, just to keep us guessing.

A Little R&R pt 2:
Once Alyss was gone, Mrs. Cantrel led me to the dayroom, which already had a few students there. What caught my attention immediately, was that there were a couple little girls, who appeared to be about the same age as Alyss.
“These little ones are Miranda, Ember, and Revekah,” Mrs. Cantrel told me with a faint smile. “The fourth member in this little band of troublemakers is Morgan, and who knows where he is at the moment…”
...
was about halfway finished when I suddenly found myself surrounded by four girls, who all appeared to be the same age as me. However, unlike with me, I was pretty sure that these kids were the real deal.
“Hi,” a dark haired girl exclaimed with a broad grin as she sat down at my table, not waiting for any invitation. “I’m Ember…”
“You’re Amy’s friend, aren’t you?” another girl asked, and before I could answer, she added, “She’s nice…”
The first girl pointed to the one who’d just spoken, and said, “This is Miranda… And that’s Morgan and Revekah.”
“Hi,” I responded with a chuckle. “I’m Ribbon. Or Alyss…”
“That’s a really pretty dress,” Miranda said, pausing to give me a strange look.
Miranda already is on campus, has already been featured, and is in Hawthorne because she can throw cars around. We didn't notice because JG posted the microscene afterwards.

She may not be if she is in the Junior High Program, and not rooming on the floor with the Freshman. Then again Hawthorne has different rooming rules.

The amusement was more specifically that we had this thread (and others) discussing the micro-scene, and the possible gen 2 cameo, but never mentioning that she had already shown up in gen 1 stories fairly clearly. Particularly given how quickly the forums generally notice any tiny continuity error or subtle hint that gets slipped in.

Miranda "Hijacker" Mahren and it works with her power-set, well what she has displayed of it so far.

Since Gen Oginski references Hijacker I, there already is probably a Hijacker II,
General Oginski waited until the door was closed, and extracted a ball. “This one works, ma’am.” He turned it on and settled into the seat she waved at. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Oginski nodded. “Ma’am? All this is code word, not to be disseminated to anyone but Admiral Everhart, and your security chief only.” He waited for her nod.
“A bit mysterious, but I understand and accept.” Mrs. Carson tilted her head in understanding and waited for the general to continue.
“Right.” The man thought about what he was going to say for a minute, then shrugged. “I have no doubt you remember what happened to Hijacker I.” Carson’s eyes narrowed at that reminder, but before she could respond, the General continued on. “It’s not the first ah… student you had of that nature, nor the last, though I will admit in her case, it was a knee jerk reaction.” The General shot a mild look at the Headmistress who impassively gazed back. “But, it was understandable and well, it ended well.”
and Prison Bitch refers to Miranda.
“It’s a baby Hijacker.”

She's never referred to as Hijacker or Hijacker II. At least not that I could find.
