  • So, I've been rereading the Loose Cannons (if they ever arrive to Whateley, they need to have this as a team name. And their story could inspire some simulations too.) story recently, and I also noticed they don't have a thread here, so I'm creating this one (I'm sure the next part of their story, in Vegas, will be really entertaining).

So, any thought about them, favorites, expectations, death flags, or how they would get along at Whateley? I know if they get there, it would be likely for te end of Year 2, or Year 3 if anything, but still... Without speaking about other possible people they could find in other labs on their way to Chicago.

  • By the way, didn't Bek say a while ago that she was working in the Vegas story?

Don't call me "Shirley." You will surely make me surly.

Well, yes. That's part of the reason I created this thread. On a speculation front... Any shipping idea? For now, I'm seeing Evan/Roxanne, and maybe Mack/Marly.

  • BTW: Who goes in what cottage, and if Ramsey's a Odds Mangler, then how's that handled?

  • I have to wonder if they are forced to flee by car and they have Evan drive if they end up in Utah on the Salt Flats and near a certain building...

In the end reality is only consensual! It means that Al Gore is causing "Global Warming" by his rhetoric alone! Fortunately, there are enough Global Warming "Deniers" still about to keep him from boiling the planet.

  • Are the original Loose Cannon stories even cannon? Do we really have a cannon sequel to a story that isn't cannon? :roflmao:

They don't even feature field artillery, but they are canon for the "Original Timeline". Check the midsummer 2012 releases.

    Why wouldn't they be canon?

Not really sure about where Ramsey goes, but since with Rox and Rae they're in position where their gender can change quickly (every time they use their poowers), I'd guess they would end up in an arrangement similar to the one used by Reach.

  • There's never been a time when canon stories (or cannon ones) were only posted to the forums because we couldn't get them posted on our main hosting location. Well, except for that time when Sapphire was taking months to post submitted stories. Or that other time when our hosts wouldn't give anyone login access to the server the site was on. Or that other time when everything was hacked...

Ok... I guess there have been a couple cases where that might apply...

  • Going back to this thread to come back on a point of the Cannons' story afert a recent reread... I think Bland was actually telling the truth or at least in the same street when he said they were targeted for being mutants, (or if 'same street', for having the MMC).

Yes, detecting mutatns is supposed to be Big Deal and not judged possible, but... Goodkinds are able to screen for MMC for their recruitment policies for the higher levels of the hierarchy according to Trevor, and that means without using Gadgeteer or Devisor methods. Heck, I remember a story where HOne goons complain they cannot create mutant detecting devices... And bringing up the fact some prototypes detect high numbers of mutants in some trains of the New Hampshire being seen a sign of them clearly not working.

But the other reason I think it's true comes to logistic. Let's face it, abducting twelve kids at the same time from the same highschool is dangerously high profile, even with phony MCO outfits to feed the illusion, and bringing up that much attention on your activities should be a big no-no for an illegal weird science outfit (heck, Snwofish showed a way to snatch more captives without drawing suspiscions, even if it was for a different type of targets), especially when you have about one week for things to go wrong, be it between the test subjects or the pubic hunt. The only reason to do that would be both if they were pressed for time and if the Cannons actually had a distinctive feature justifying using the as test subjects en masse like they did.
