  • At O-dark-early, I report to the hospital pre-op ward to prepare for surgery to repair my shoulder. I'll be out of action for a while. EE will know what's happening. Meanwhile, the usual request stands. (for some reason, I'm nervous about this surgery, which I've never been before. Good thing i'm not a precog.)

  • Elrod's wife informs me that Elrod is out of surgery and doing well. His arm will likely be in a sling for 6 weeks, so it's probably a good thing he is such a fan of DragonDictate, otherwise you lot would go into withdrawal!

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and well wishes!

  • Even though one shoulder is pretty immobilized and I can't type two-handed, and typing one-handed really sucks, I do have a copy of DragonDictate and so I'm able to do quite a bit using that. I got a bunch more done on a story today, and if my family leaves me in peace and quiet while I'm rehabbing, I should get quite a bit more done on at least two more stories – including a couple of fun little surprises.

And if I get a little too loopy on pain meds, the plots might get really kind of mind blowing

  • status update - got to take off sling to shower - mixed blessing. feel clean but almost ANY motion hurts like hell. using dragon dictate - finished up the second part of a 2-parter, and started a new one (it'll be a surprise). typing one-handed sucks, btw.

going to hit the rack now - pain makes me sleepy. by end of holiday weekend, i hope to have 2 new projects done, one of which might be an absolute hoot!

  • Sorry i haven't said anything here, I never know what to say with these things other than that I appreciate the update, the body heals at its own rate, sometimes trying to force it makes it take longer, but doing nothing can slow it down too, when you made the announcement, a small less rational part of me thought about a tragedy that happened to one of the greatest animators ever February 1st of 2015, but living in a suburb of Hospital City (otherwise known as Cleveland, Ohio - the majority of the city not counting homes and apartments or food, restaurants and gas stations probably serves some kind of medical practice, not to mention all the buildings owned by University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic) I know that kind of thing is rare, and getting rarer.

So fun fact, if you guys ever want to base a story in Cleveland, Ohio, we locals jokingly call it the number one place to get sick or hurt, as almost everywhere you are, excluding the bad parts of the city, there's a medical facility down the street,

Any Bad Ideas I have and microscene OC character stories are freely adoptable.
