    • OK. I have looked up Whateley Academy a dozen times on Google. All that comes up are the site, and the wikia wiki. Why the hell is this site so obscure??? I mean, it's good writing, and it has potential. Goddamm, I'm beginning to sound like Phase. *Ahem*. Why doesn't someone on this site (someone who happens not to be *ahem* "banned rather unfairly" from writing on Wikipedia *ahem (definitely not me)*) attempt to write a wikipedia page? It would squeeze a few more readers for the site, and keep the people streaming into the abattoir...omygodwhatamIsayingthisisstupidshitimgoingtoshutupnowbeforeisaysomethingstupidthankyouforbotheringtounscramblethisillbehereallweek.

    • Well, it probably won't pass the Wikipedia criteria for "notability." Fictionmania, which is older, much larger and better known, is tagged as "may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline." So a Whateley WP page is likely to be taken down by an admin pretty quickly.

    Also, spamming other sites is of doubtful value. A while ago, some people started posting Whateley entries in TVtropes, and there was a lot of complaints in the TVT forums -- despite TVT explicitly *not* having a notability criteria.

    • ^ The problem with the TVTropes spamming wasn't about notability.

    It was that the entries were bad, or something, and I "think" there was something about not having a page for the work.

    I'm not really sure. Anyone really curious can find out for themselves, and here's the link to the Whateleyverse thread on TVTropes.

    ... Back to Wikipedia: If Global Guardians PBEM Universe has a Wikipedia entry, then we might be able to make a case. But it doesn't.

    • TVtropes didn't have an actual Whateley page at the time, so all the links went nowhere. Once that was fixed, it still caused problems cause a lot of people just didn't want to touch it or something, believing the whole fanbase was as bad as the infamous linker on TVtropes... I guess? That's what I remember anyways.

    Though I myself found Whateley through the TV tropes page.

    • As Forger said. Our only problems with TVTropes is that the fans who went nuts adding whateley references everywhere didn't set up the core whateley page first, so all the references they added were just footnotes without any reference point back to an explanation of what whateley was. so now tvtropes uses us as their anecdote for the trope of overly zealous fandom who go crazy on tvtropes. :P
