If we can make a good list and keep it updated, it might help people that want to loan out or allow their OCs to appear in the non-canon works.
all suggestions are welcome, and if we get this rolling, maybe it can get a pin, for easy access?

Born in the farmlands of Namibia to a German Boer ranch family. However, Max had very little family time before his father and mother were viciously murdered. Sold into slavery along with his sister. While Max does have the ability to warp the properties of an object on impact. If the object comes into contact with anything before Max is able to warp the forces. The object is torn apart by the energy placed inside.
Max’s regeneration is supercharged by his EN trait. Both of his other traits draw from his EN attribute. Which only replenishes when he eats, meaning if he pulls too much energy out of his cells he can starve and die.

Birth Name: Mads Christian Gunnison
Current ID: Mads Christian Møller-Jensen
Code name: Metro
Titles: Count of Rosenborg (and by virtue of being one of the thousands of qualifying descendents of Sophia, Electress of Hanover, British nobility somewhat like Fortinbras of Gen 2, only less likely to bring that up unless prompted.)
Count Shadowsfell. The latter is recognized by at least one of the many Fae Courts off-plane. Unfortunately for some visitors, it may not be much more "Seelie" than he is, raising the question of who really won that hand of cards.
Appearance: He's much taller now, but a younger Thomas Brodie-Sangster would be a good actor to compare to.
Age: 16+, 2007 ID: 14 Apparent age: whatever it needs to be
Ht: 5' 4"
Wt: 120
Eye color: hazel
Hair color: dirty blond
Skin color: very pale, almost livid
Distinguishing features unless changed with illusion magic):
May have small antlers (unless shed), may be charged with bioelectricity
Skin color reflects having purplish-colored blood
Elongated bicuspids (fangs), may also be electrically charged
Cervical and thoracic gills
Pleural "sac"
Reduced lung capacity
Reduced healing rate
Bicardiac
hairless below jaw - skin becomes literally greasy or oily when upset or aroused
"critter spook" - almost all animals react adversely to him, carries over to mutants
with corresponding animal avatars or traits, pheromone based (worse for those with enhanced sense of smell)
"glamour" - reminds people variously of cemeteries, a battlefield after the engagement, gunsmoke
"spirit bane" - some types of insect spirits will preferentially attack him (some might avoid)
allergic to orichalcum
Not allergic to cold iron. Because, reasons.

Personality: ISTP (MBTI) Everyone thinking he's an extrovert are dead wrong. That's almost entirely an act unless he's on a job and forced to take a lead in negotations - at which point he's very much a "cut to the chase" dealer, looking to maximize the outcomes for all parties AT the table.
He'd like to think of himself as being like Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell:Blacklist). Others close to him vote for Indiana Jones (Ever notice how often he ends up running for his life after one stupid risk too many?), or Arya Stark (She does rack up a body count, and the gods themselves can't help you if you attack her family or friends).
Bio:
- Born in Chicago.
- Cover story: London
- There is a known history of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at home until age 12.
- Abducted en route to boarding school for 7th Grade. The kindest thing that can be said is that he was broken
Addicted to "Better Than Life"/personafix chip VR at this time.
His magical ability manifested, starting with astral perception, while the implants were still in.
- Recovered on second attempt by the corporation that owned him / his contracts, after 8 months
- Roughly a year of extensive surgical and psychological rehabilitation. (Some would say the reprogramming worked too well, others would say they were lucky to get as close to functional as they did)
- A period of several months during which he lived in the worst part of the Detroit "Barrens"
- Started running with the least professional crew of "independent contractors" ever, a couple of months into 9th grade. This quickly evolved into an undercover job while the crew dabbled in smuggling, drug trafficking, and a wide variety of black operations, eventually becoming used as a high-threat response team with NO connections to the unit that Mads was also training and working for off-plane for a year.
It was an interesting two + one years. Yes he DOES have stills and experiences the average incoming freshman doesn't.
- Then one day: Tada! Welcome to Whateley.
Notes: Mads arrives at Whateley Academy August 1, 2007.
Seriously thinking of introducing Koehnes to the Wild Hunt.

Personality: INTP (MBTI) in spades. A) because the author is,

Thomas is aware of all the details of the late Cpl. T. H. Jensen's life, having eaten the man's heart after all. However, he hasn't lived that life. He also has his own memories of being a spirit, but since Mads is primarily an evoker it's unknown how much of that is really him, or information contaminating the local mana from which he was called forth, Mads' own subconscious imprint on the spirit, or a combination of all of the above.
He does NOT enjoy swimming, fishing, etc. unless Mads is close by. He'd also rather not let anyone anywhere know that. On the other hand, a panicking air spirit is NOT AT ALL what you want in the pool with you (electricity and water don't play well together)

Name: Kristian Emil Holm,
A.k.a: "Kris", "Rors"

Age: 14 (and he really is the age he is)

Skin color: Northern European, but tanned
Distinguishing features: Meh.
Powers: Exemplar-2, Empath-2, Esper-2 (Clairvoyant, Danger Sense, Precog, Luck sense)
Kris is better than most at recognizing a Bad Idea when he sees it (including the entire category of "Things That Mads Comes Up With When Bored") Much like Marvel's Layla Miller, at times he just "knows things".
He has a another esper ability or two, but hasn't been in a position to notice.
Equipment: tbd, body armor
*Note that Denmark has strict regulations on firearm ownership.
Limitations/Weaknesses: Weak vs. magic, small arms fire
Affiliations: Royal Danish Navy, JROTC, Euro-Promotional League
Location/Residence: Whateley - Emerson Cottage
Personality overview: ESFJ (MBTI). In the coming zombie apocalypse, "they will be eaten by a zombie, because they are protecting someone they love (who is clearly being stupid and not paying attention)". Think: Molly Weasley or Bilbo Baggins.
Fiercely loyal, but (or as a result?) he does tend to be a bit of an emotional "steerer". Falls a bit into the stereotype of the "My Girl Back Home" hero, the sort of guy who makes a sacrifice in sweat, tears, and blood because gosh, golly, some things are the right thing to do! Yes, he does expect his loyalty and generosity to be reciprocated, any thing less is deeply offensive. (Famous ESFJs include Fix-it Felix, Bilbo Baggins)
Didn't mind the gender change, because Emilie was a bit of a tomboy, favoring sailing and maybe other male-dominated sports to sleepovers. Not that she'd filled out much yet. Also, their father is a skilled psychotherapist. Frida, at least, still hasn't slowed down in her campaign to Help Emilie/Kristian Get A Life.
May have developed a small, but clearly ill-fated, crush on fellow-countryman Mads Møller-Jensen.
Very community, team oriented.
Bio: Kristian was born Emilie Kirsten Holm, to Arvid and Solveig Holm. They have two siblings, an older sister (Clara), and a younger sister (Frida). Home is Aalborg, Denmark.
Solveig's practice specializes in International Law. Arvid's psychotherapy practice pays well enough for him to devote time to his family.
Notes: His roommate, very much the self-consciously hawt exemplar, financially comfortable, gated-community secure, and "more socially aware than thou" progressive drives Kris straight up the wall. The worst part is that he can see how easily he or his charge could have gone the same way. Nonetheless, he's still "White", Danish Lutheran, (not exclusively) heterosexual, and male.
Will be going home for the Christmas Break.
Doesn't entirely approve of Fenrir Lokisson (They're both a bit territorial).

Hair color: Auburn, highlighted gold
Skin color: Caucasian
Power ratings: Exemplar-3, Avatar-4(1) practically fireproof, Esper-2 (Temperature Sense, Finder/Precog - can assay ore, stock, or scrap almost on sight, also good at determining whether two people are fit to be joined together), Gadgeteer-1
Techniques: Avoid troubles and grifters in the first damned place, Lawyers on retainer, Long list of metalworking techniques, some ceramics experience
Limitations/Weaknesses: Weak vs. sufficiently powerful weapons, magic, psi, cold effects
Affiliations: Dewey, Cheatham & Howe, Attorneys at Law.
Location/Residence: Whateley - Whitman Cottage. (She's more of a Caron lady than a Guerlain woman)
Personality: ENTP (MBTI) tomboy. Maybe a bit of Gred and Forge Weasley.
Grew up a blacksmith's and a potter's daughter, steeped in the mysteries of turning coal and rust into steel, wood and clay into stone and glass. But there's much to learn outside of that before she can pass down family traditions that nearly ended with her parents' deaths. Still, she needs to work on initiative, time management, saying "no" to interesting but ethically questionable trial runs...

The Bully
Character: Brick Bat
name: William Pierce
age: 13
birthdate: 1993, December 25th
class: Freshman
dorm: Twain
height: 7'0”
weight: 400lbs
build: Massive, his biceps are bigger than most peoples waists and he's very proportional.
eyes: Marbled (black and white in a really interesting pattern.
hair: Short brown hair.
face: Square, looks like it's been broken a bit and only come out stronger.
distinguishing features: Holy Sh!t he's big.
place of birth: North Bay, Ontario, Canada
associations:
Bully Busters: Eventually, at first he's the bully, partly joins them to get a good fight.
Underdogs: Eventually, never considers them as anything important at first, too weak.
Various bullies: First friends or sparring partners, then rivals.
Ratings: Energizer: 5 Regenerator: 2
Background:
Will was one of those big kids who wanted to be cool and hung out with people who were more cool then him doing whatever was needed. Since he was big for his age, that usually mean helping out bigger, cooler bullies. He did OK in school, a C and B student with an A in gym, but he didn't push himself or show off, that would have made him a nerd and nerds suck.
When away from the bullies, he never really went out of his way to bother anyone, as long as they didn't get in his way (he doesn't consider shoving a smaller kid into a wall or some lockers for not moving to the side quickly enough bullying). But when with his friends he was one of the most feared kids in school.
In February he manifested, and GSD kicked in and he started to grow into a mass of muscle.
When he became larger than pretty much every adult close to the end of the school term, his school insisted he get tested by the MCO. They actually legally couldn't but Will's parents didn't know better, so they did, when he was confirmed to be a mutant, the school let him finish the term, but again illegally let it be known they didn't want him back the next year.
His parents did some frantic searching and found that a school in the US, would consider having abnormal students on a very limited basis. They applied figuring it was the best they would get, and a month later Will was a student of Whateley for the 2007 Fall term.
After spending the summer showing off to his friends, he packed up and headed for Whateley figuring he'd be the big man on campus.
Psychology:
Will was a bully, not a horrible one, but if he was pointed in someones direction bad things were going to happen. Now that he's the big man, he doesn't want to take orders from others, he wants to get the respect he deserves doing what he wants. He'll be attracting yes men, and sycophants, who see him as muscle they can use for protection or leg breaking. If Don's Alpha's were still a power he'd be a shoe in for them as head of an enforcer squad, at least initially. If he knows someone is using him, he'll lash out, he's no ones bitch.
He's insulting seeing most people as weaker and not as worthy as him. This will change as he meets scrawny kids who can kick his ass.
He will bully people, but he won't bother much with the weakest kids. He did that before and there's no challenge to it. He wants kids with backbones he can break and dominate. Or a worthy fight, which he hasn't had in a couple of years. If he was at a regular high school he'd be the guy to challenge the captain of the football or hockey team.
He's not Kodiak. He'll enjoy a good fight, but he also likes to beat up kids who can only fight back a bit before they crumble and cry at his feet. He'll also use smaller kids for help with homework and doing jobs for him, but as long as they do what he wants, he won't push it. He won't take all their money, make them spend hours a day helping him, or humiliate them as long as they do what he wants. If they piss him off, a cuff or two and a warning not to mess with him again is good enough.
He's pretty pissed that he's not a handsome mutant. Seeing the tough kids who are so handsome while he looks like an ugly boxer who's gotten hit too many times wears at him, and is actually one reason he'll stop being much of a bully later on. Punching the pretty faced bullies is much more satisfying than going after plain looking weaklings.
He's a bit of a romantic, and is looking for a nice girlfriend who will want to spend time with him and likes watching sports movies, sports like boxing and the UFC, and things like that. So he won't usually bully girls, unless they annoy him by acting like he's scum or demanding he do something for them.
Powers:
His energizer power relates to his muscle. He can supercharge his body to the point that he can lift six tons and take a rifle round to the chest, he also speeds up to a low level speedster capable of hitting 60mph, this only lasts for five minute, before he runs out of juice and returns to normal. It takes an hour to recharge.
His power also permeates his muscles and bones, letting him normally lift two tons, and take a pistol to the chest.
He's working out to get even stronger.
Other:
He studied both boxing and wrestling back home, he's looking for people interesting in sparring with him. While he thinks Aikido isn't forceful enough, once he gets over his superiority complex and sees that Ito teaches how to win using everything, he takes a liking to it, trying to combine martial arts into his wrestling and boxing moves. He uses the UFC fighters as a basis for learning.
With his skills he's a dangerous opponent for people who rely on brute force or aren't expecting him to know anything beyond basic martial arts.
When fighting, he doesn't feel much pain. After the fight he'll be aching, but during it most hits don't bother him unless they're really hard.
He speaks fluent French-Canadian.

The Cheerful One
Character: Marionette
name: Damian Fitzpatrick
age: 13
birthdate: March 12, 1994
class: Junior High
dorm: Twain
height: 5'4”
weight: 100lbs
build: Sickly, very little muscle mass, weak bones
eyes: Brown
hair: Dark brown
face: Long, hollow cheeks, very little flesh on him.
distinguishing features: Other than his sickly and thin appearance, when he moves it seems a little odd, as if he's not in total control of his limbs
place of birth: London, Ontario, Canada
associations:
ratings: TK: 3d-20
Background:
Thanks to a birth defect Damian spent his entire life in bed or a wheelchair thanks to being unable to move anything from his neck down, except a few fingers. His organs work perfectly but his nerves just refused to send or receive signals in his muscles.
He tried his best to not get fat, seeing how hard it was for the nurses and families of other paralyzed people to deal with, so he carefully limited his diet, and has a sickly appearance initially.
He is a smart kid, and since he couldn't focus on his body put all his effort into learning as much as he could.
He lived at home, and while he was home schooled and took teleconferencing classes, his parents and caretakers took him out a lot, so he wasn't badly isolated.
Around Christmas of 2006, he manifested, lifting a glass of water to his lips when he was very thirsty. He practised in secret for a while, enjoying his newfound sense of control. In February he called his parents into the room, told them to stay calm and sat up, followed by standing up and 'walking' over to give them a hug.
His parents were thrilled after the initial panic wore off.
He continued to practice, having some accidents, like fracturing his Dad's arm when they were testing his strength, and breaking a hole through a wall with his body when he tried to jump. His parents contacted different mutant experts and in late April one of them asked if they wanted their son to go to school. They said they were interested but didn't think it would be a good idea. A week later, Whateley sent them an application package.
While Damian doesn't have perfect control of his TK, and he looks odd when walking and moving, he's thrilled with just being able to leave his room and do stuff. Even if he still uses a wheelchair when in public, he can now move it himself, only using a joystick for show, and he uses his hands and arms as much as he can.
Psychology:
Damian went from looking and interacting with the world through a computer, and helpers, to being able to 'walk' around, feed himself, and do pretty much anything he wants, he's thrilled. Probably one of the happiest guys in Twain.
Now that he can exercise, he is eating more, enjoying sweet foods he'd only ever licked once or twice for the flavour without actually eating any of it. And that's just the start, he's trying to do everything he can, catching up on 13 years of as he puts it, 'not living'. People will start to think he's a bit of a hedonist.
He doesn't know the meaning of giving up. He's doing the impossible, so he just has to keep pushing and he'll eventually succeed.
Powers:
His TK is how he moves around. He doesn't have a field around himself, he grabs his joints with his mind and makes them move. This doesn't look very natural, which is why he still uses a wheelchair to get around off campus and in public. He has better control of his hands and arms, having spent more time practising with them, but it still doesn't look right.
He can't fly, he says its like lifting yourself up by your arm. But he can hold himself up and move just an inch or two above the ground. When climbing stairs, his TK lifts his knee, puts it down focuses on that foot and lifts the other leg up, he prefers elevators, even slow ones.
He can lift up to 800 pounds from 20 meters away, but controlling his body and other things is really hard. So when he has to control other things he typically just holds himself steady whipping himself around as needed, and focuses primarily on the object. This make him look very odd in a fight.
He can feel somethings with his TK, but its like wearing woolen mittens. Despite that he has fine control of his TK, and has taken up calligraphy, using only his mind to control the pen.
If stunned, knocked unconscious, or asleep, his TK stops working and he's completely paralyzed.
Other:
Because he can't feel his body, bruises, burns, and cuts won't slow him down initially. Blood loss, and internal trauma are his biggest concern, but snapping his arm, dislocating his shoulder, popping his knee cap, he won't even notice. This can make him cocky in a fight, and extensive healing is frequently needed to keep him from getting deadly infections and helping his body recover.
Because he can't feel things physically except below the neck, and his TK offers only limited sensation, he has a habit of rubbing things against his face and lips to know what they feel like. This looks odd to most people.
He's seen what happened to some students using bio-devises to fix themselves, that's something he plans on avoiding unless he's 100% sure its safe. Finding a gadget that will get his nerves working properly would be better overall.

Codename: Shell

Height: 5'5" / Usually appears 6'0” (Still growing)
Weight: 165 lbs.
Age: 14
Hair: Light brown hair, short / Blonde, shoulder length
Eyes: Brown/ Dazzling blue
Face: Square/ Oval
Appearance: sickly white skin at this point / beautiful Nordic look.
Build: Muscular look, like a boxer/ Strong, extremely lithe, makes people think of a hunting cat.
Gender: Male, appears female.
PoB/Residence: Small town in Northern Michigan.
Affiliation: Poe
- Power
Man: 3
Richard can create an ectoplasmic body. It has to be human, and cannot be smaller than his real body. He can be up to 8 feet tall, extremely muscular, fat, svelt, or anything else within the human norm. He can lift up to one ton, snap trees in half, put enough padding around his real body to stop most commonly available firearms, and increase his speed by lengthening and strengthening his legs.
Psychology
Richard is a mass murderer.
When he was thirteen, his best friend was killed in front of him by several men from town, because the boy was a mutant. Richard almost died with him, and saw his father shoot first.
He held a grudge ever since, learning to box and actually beating his father rather badly in what was suppose to be a fun sparring match.
After manifesting while punching a tree, he practised with his power for over a month seeing how long it would last, how to change it, what it could do, when he was certain of it's capabilities, he enacted his revenge. Richard drugged his father and killed his mother who had supported his father in the killing of his friend, and screamed for help when he told her he was a mutant. Then taking his fathers appearance, he went through town killing most of the people who had killed his friend, as well as the sheriff who hadn't pressed charges against the men. He smeared the blood on his father and escaped while deputies stormed the house.
His father was charged with the murder.
Two weeks later, while living with an aunt, he 'manifested' appearing as a beautiful woman. The Windy City Guardians tested him, said he had MATD which made him appear to be a woman, and sent him to Whateley.
He is very protective of his friends, and has proven more than willing to kill in self defence or revenge. He isn't psychotic and would be quite happy to never kill again, but he will always consider it an option if he can get away with it.
The Fool
Codename: Foxy
Name: Richard Mather; now Rachael Mather
Height: 4'10"
Weight: 80 lbs.
Age: 13
Hair: Red fur
Eyes: Brilliant brown fox eyes
Face: Fox face
Build: A skinny, humanoid fox, with four breasts, the lower ones are very small but noticeable in tight shirts or when naked.
Gender: (Gen 1: MtF) (Gen 2: Female)
PoB/Residence: Charleston, South Carolina
Affiliation: Gen 2: Poe, Gen 1 Whitman
-Powers
Avatar 2
Rachael and her spirit aren't very powerful, but like Anna they really clicked so they work very closely together for the same goals.
She is very agile, can jump ten feet from a standing position, has claws, a sensitive nose, can see in the dark, and her thick fur makes her a bit more resistant to damage than most people would expect from her looks. She's a very good runner. Her bite is also very nasty, but she really doesn't like to bite people because it's yucky.
Psychology:
Richard always loved nature, visiting the city parks almost everyday. So when he manifested as an avatar, it only made sense for him to gain a nature spirit. He wasn't expecting a vixen to choose him, but he isn't very upset about it. In fact he's quite happy.
He wasn't transgender, but his gender didn't mean very much to him, so he's just excited to have such a cool spirit that lets him get closer to nature and do a lot of really cool stuff he never even dreamed of.
Her mother is a speech therapist and when Rachael grew a muzzle making her unable to talk properly, her mother spent several weeks teaching her how to speak. Now she still slurs her words, but she is understandable.
She's a pretty happy go lucky kid, although if pushed far enough she'll push back twice as hard and she is not above pulling pranks, which thanks to her vixen spirit can be on the destructive side.
Rachael used to be a near vegetarian only eating a bit of fish and chicken occasionally, and a small serving of eggs every two or three day, so now that she's eating rare meat and loving it, she's kind of weirded out, but is just going with it.
In Whateley she'd be showing off the lighter side of life, without worrying about angst or other things, just having fun and protecting her friends. Which can drag her into confrontations with bullies, things man was not meant to know and supervillains.
She is the Fool on the journey of self discovery and has a long way to go.
(If not MtF she has much the same attitude)

The Gambler
Codename: Probably
Name: Michelle Owens
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 105 lbs.
Age: 14
Hair: Shoulder length bone white hair. Done up in waves and spikes, looks messy but planned that way.
Eyes: Left eye sky blue, Right eye emerald green
Face: Heart-shaped face
Build: Slim, looks to be all angles, even her breasts look pointy (this is natural, her BIT just makes her bony not unnaturally pointy.)
Gender: Female; bisexual. Decides what she likes in the morning by flipping a coin and doesn't hide anything. Didn't tell the school that, as she didn't care.
PoB/Residence: Sudbury, Ontario
Affiliation: Melville, with all the probability warpers, it was seen as the safest place as there is two years between her and the other Melville probability warper, Hazard.
Power:
Warper – 3, ESP-2, Exemplar-2
She's a probability warper.
Her ESP gives her odds constantly in the form of percentages. it takes quite a bit of work for her to focus it, when she does it only works for maybe twenty seconds. This means she has trouble distinguishing what's important from what isn't because of this, so has some quirks to deal with it.
Example:
She wants to know the odds of being able to beat up a big guy who's giving her trouble at a nightclub, but her power is letting her know the guy at the bar is only 20% likely to hook up with the girl he's talking to, there's a 56% chance a person will walk through the front door in the next five minutes, 87% chance that a girl will be bumped and spill her drink as she tries to get to her table, and so on. Her mind can't focus on the most important thing, and it's all a jumbled mess.
Her warping is fairly powerful, but works best through aids such as cards, dice, coins and other items of chance. If she tries to push the odds too much, say going from 5% chance to 45%, it causes her headaches, weakness, and it feels like her fingers are burning for a few minutes as she rolls the dice or shuffles the cards in ever fancier ways. When she really pushes it her fingers will actually get blisters and she'll have a migraine, putting her effectively out of commission.
Psychology
Even Odds, is a little crazy. For the last several months she's been dealing with seeing and knowing the odds of her every action and anything that catches her attention. At first she didn't know what was happening, then she did and she became almost catatonic from being unable to make any choices.
After some time in a psychiatric ward, she learned to focus her attention on only certain things. This took the form of cards, dice and coins, she's not Two Face and only capable of making a decision through flipping a coin, they're merely a focusing device allowing her to function when things around her get a bit too hectic. She also wears very dark sunglasses when in a crowded place to help limit what she sees.
The focusing method seems to have affected her power, acting as a crutch, as when she's doing something with any of the three she's able to use her powers more effectively. For really pushing the odds, she can only do it through her cards, shuffling them with the speed and complexity of a professional sleight of hand magician.
She's taken to letting the cards, coins and dice decide some things for her to add randomness to her life. For clothes she'll roll dice to decide between six different shirts, and then four different pants and skirts and wear whatever comes up. In the morning she'll flip a coin, to decide if she'll be straight or gay, or roll a four sided die when she's feeling adventurous on if she'll be straight, gay, bi, or asexual for the day. (Like I said she has some issues)
When flipping coins she'll usually close her eyes or has someone else do it. Sometimes getting a passerby to do it for her so that it's truly random.
She always has a deck of cards, a bag of dice and several coins from different countries to play with, her fingers are almost always busy shuffling cards, flipping coins, or doing coin tricks. It's extremely rare to see her motionless.
Her biggest goal is to learn how to shut off her ESP. Permanently is fine with her, temporally would be ok.
Her warping power seems to push her into dangerous and exciting situations, particularly when she's bored. It's one reason she refused to do anything after a few bad incidences that had her end up in the middle of crimes. She's learning to just go with it.

Powers
Wiz- 3, PK- 2
She's a wizard, Harry. She has a focus on rituals of transfiguration (despite the high essence cost), and has a talent for making magic circles.
Her PK is focused on ink. With ink (any colour) she has fine control up to twelve feet away and doesn't have to touch it. She uses this to help with creating magic circles, and drawing runes onto flesh for spells, She can also draw very good pictures with her mind, being able to picture things with great detail. She can control up to 10 litres of ink at a time, sending it flying through the air or crawling across a surface. She can solidify it for up to one day , and it is about as strong as an equal thickness of a cedar plank. If it's been made into a solid, she can forget it about it, focusing her powers on something else, which makes it effective for masks, weapons and armour. She can use dried ink as well, turning back into a liquid, which makes her particularly dangerous in libraries.
She uses this defensively and offensively, covering her face in a 3D mask rather than worrying about an actual costume, making spears, shields and breast plates. She will also send it into the face, eyes, nose and mouth of her opponents.
Something that she is slowly learning, is to use ink on her own skin turning her effectively into a living spell strip. She's found that this comes easily to her, allowing her to cause subtle shifts in her anatomy, thicker skin, stronger muscles, etc, without quite as high an essence cost as it would usually take.
Psychology
She grew up as a nerd (not surprising considering her parents are both gamers, hence her name), with her nose in a book because her small town was boring with more interest in drinking and going out in the woods than reading and learning. When she turned twelve, her uncle who had moved to Africa, died and left a collection of old books to her family. She got them and started reading. There weren't any horrific secrets or even really rare books in the collection, but the tomes talked about magic and the secret history of the world. She took to them like a fish to water.
Foolishly she went online to find some real spells. When she was fourteen, she tried to cast a spell to summon a tree spirit in the woods at midnight of the summer solstice. There was a roar that woke the town and when people went looking for the cause they found her unconscious, surrounded by tree's that had broken at the base, their trunks turned to flesh.
She was in a coma for a year.
In the fourth month her body changed, growing taller, her skin changing to look like ancient parchment, her body hair falling out and the hair on her head began to look like ink. In the eighth month, doctors were amazed to find medical charts in her room changing, calling for help, saying that she was lost and scared. Several experts were brought in but couldn't help, her soul was gone.
A year to the very minute of the roar, she woke up. Her body was weak, but not as weak as it should have been, and there was no need to relearn any skills, she could do everything just as well as before.
When asked where she'd been, she couldn't answer, there's a hole in her memory.
A psychic who tried to probe her mind and found only a blank spot recommended she go to Whateley to learn about her powers and to safely learn magic.
She wants to find out what happened to her, the hole in her mind is like a missing tooth she can't ignore. Her reading interest will have her looking at every tome she's allowed to see, and trying to figure out how to gain access to the forbidden ones. She's persistent and smart enough to get what she wants, but so rash that what she wants is often extremely dangerous.
She carries around a large canteen full of ink that is easy to open as a holdout, along with an ornate fountain pen and a smaller container of ink, that has five different colours of ink in their own section. She has a far away look in her eye, but is usually friendly if shy with people. However if she's researching and someone doesn't take the hint to go away or is purposefully slowing her down she can become very nasty, throwing a drop or two of ink into their nose, making it look like they wet themselves, or covering their head in ink and hardening it for ten or twenty seconds before letting them breathe.

Wannabe Femme Fatale
Character: Mary (This is what Mary was originally going to be, she's changed a lot so it really doesn't matter anymore)
name: Melody Hannigan (Formerly Beatrice Tracy Hannigan)
age: 14
birthdate: October 31st, 1993
class: Freshman
dorm: Whitman
height: 5'7”
weight: 108lbs.
build: Skinny, not sickly, but definitely runway model thin.
eyes: Blood red iris'.
hair: Straight black hair, down to the middle of her back, seems to suck in the light.
face: High, prominent cheekbones, very regal appearance,
distinguishing features: Pale, not quite albino, sharp incisors, long tongue.
place of birth: Buffalo, New York
associations:
Ratings: Exemplar 2, Wiz 4
Background: Beatrice Tracy Hannigan was a pretty ordinary girl living in the suburbs of Buffalo. She had a bit too much of a fascination with vampires and horror movies, the gorier the better, (she has several reprints of old vampire comics before the Comic Code stopped them, that show lots of blood and gore), but otherwise not much to talk about.
Then she found herself losing weight, burning more easily in the sun, and her hair changing colour. Her parents brought her to the doctor thinking she had cancer or something similar, only to have her declared as healthy as an ox. Her eyes changed colour during a second round of tests. An expert was contacted and Beatrice was declared a mutant, probably an Exemplar. However there were complications, she couldn't eat much food without getting sick, no more than 17 or so ounces, and she was constantly hungry. She survived on protein drinks and IV drips, and was virtually skin and bones as doctors tried to solve the problem.
After a lot more tests, Whateley contacted her parents in June, offering her a place at the school. Whateley also asked a specialist to look her over and it was discovered her BIT was turning her into a vampire.
Her parents were a bit freaked, as was Beatrice, they are trying to be supportive, but they're becoming increasingly distant.
For her part, Beatrice tried to make a complete break with her old self, convincing her parents to legally change her name to have no resemblance to her old one which she hated (this was helped by Grandmother Beatrice being totally against having a mutant in the family), and jumping into the role of being a vampire girl with barely a look back (she's not happy about it, but doesn't see much of a choice).
She was put into Whitman which she thinks is kind of lame, since she's more than pretty enough to be in Dickinson and if you ignore the fangs she can pass as a supermodel. Still she tries not to let it get her down.
Psychology:
Melody tries to act above it all, and better than everyone, befitting the role of a vampire femme fatale. She can easily be knocked out of this when caught by surprise or by someone who pulls it off better but she's learning.
She doesn't talk much about her past, focusing on the here and now.
She tends to wear black, dark reds, deep purples, and dark blues. These generally cover most of her skin, with many of her shirts covering her hands in lace, fringes, or large cuffs to keep her from burning. Matching broad brimmed hats complete the ensemble. She has a surprising number of dresses that were salvaged from thrift stores.
She's not ready to date boys yet, she's still trying to get a handle on her new body and life, but isn't totally against it. If asked she just says no and acts like the boy is beneath her, although if the boy just wants to be friends, she's happy to talk about video games and horror movies.
Powers:
Exemplar 2: She's strong despite her frail appearance, but the biggest thing about her Exemplar status is the changes caused by her BIT.
She gained an enhanced sense of smell, especially related to blood and meat, she can tell when a girl down the hall is having her period, just by taking a big sniff in the morning as she wakes up.
Her BIT has given her two very sharp and durable fangs, that can puncture raw hide. This makes her smile with her lips closed unless she wants to freak someone out.
She also has excellent low light vision, her eyes seem to glow in the dark much like cat eyes, but pitch blackness will leave her blind.
Wiz 4: Give her some blood and she can work wonders. She almost instinctively understands spells that let her hide and track people. She's found that the best spell scripts use a drop of her own blood in the ink, and if she has someone elses blood she can scry on them extremely easily.
Her hobgoblins tend to look like bloody blobs, and disgusting slimy goblins.
Other: She can only eat a bit of real food each day, no more than 500 grams (about 17 ounces), she gets almost all of her sustenance from blood. She's never drank human blood, but she licks her lips when she someone cuts themselves. Since food doesn't make her fat, she has become a bit of a gourmand, trying the best food she can afford, which isn't actually that much, she's continually broke thanks to her parents not sending much money for an allowance.
The Unwilling Monster
Character: Carapace
name: Sandy Haws (Formerly Emory Haws)
age: 14
birthdate: July 1993
class: Freshman
dorm: Hawthorne
height: 5'10” (and growing)
weight: 164 lbs.
build: lithe, muscular
eyes: Brown
hair: Brown, done up in a pixie cut
face: Heart shape, very sharp features and severe chin and cheekbones.
distinguishing features: She's covered in dark blue chitin except for her face, and even that looks inhuman.
place of birth: Small town. Ohio
associations:
Outcast Corner: As a non-Poe changeling, they have offered to help her.
ratings: Exemplar 4, Warping 1
Background:
Emory was, despite his name, a well adjusted young teenager in Ohio who lived with his well off veterinarian parents. Then all hell broke loose and he started changing.
First he simply became stronger, faster, more agile, but he just thought it was because he was working out. Then he began getting pain in his chest, legs, waist and hips, as well as suffering from nausea and rapid mood swings.
At that point he went to the doctor. Nothing was found, so he was sent to a bigger hospital and he amazed everyone with his insane hormone imbalance. It took three months of examinations, the development of female breasts and hips and the shrinking of his testicles and penis for his parents to admit he was turning into a girl.
But that bit of news was the least of his problems. His skin started developing a hard shell much like a bug, having parts of joints becoming barbed and sharp as a knife didn't help matters.
His parents were freaked, but tried to help him. Unfortunately the mood swings kept coming, as did the changes. He was outed as a mutant, and H1 paid a visit as they were going to the doctors one day. They hit his parents car, knocking Emory unconscious. As they moved in to finish the job, a feral creature of knives and claws cut through them like they were butter.
Emory came to with his fingers deep in his fathers stomach, his mother grabbing him from behind screaming in his ear to stop. Paramedics were able to save his father, and four of the seven H1 attackers who didn't run like hell. Emory wasn't arrested because it was self defence, but the police let his family know they weren't happy.
Further testing showed that when asleep, stunned or badly surprised, a protective animal like instinct takes over, making Emory dangerous to everyone around him. Whateley hearing of the situation sent a representative offering to help school Emory and help him learn to handle his 'instincts'.
By the time he entered Whateley a little over a month later, he was completely androgynous, and most of his skin had become a super strong chitin. Rather than dealing with people knowing she was a boy until recently, she became Sandy and pretends she was always a girl.
Psychology:
Always more of a bookish kid, Sandy has spent the last few months becoming even shyer, nervous and most of all guilty over what she did to her father. She's worried about losing control again, and is happy to be in Hawthorn where she has her own room and isn't as big a risk to others. But she gets lonely being all alone in her room at night, and wishes she could learn to control herself when asleep so she could get a roommate like Teri who she looks up to for being so brave despite everything.
She's not sure where she falls in the sexual spectrum. Considering her appearance, she hasn't spent much time trying to figure it out, seeing little point in getting her hopes up. She is depressed and shy about her appearance, and hides herself as best she can in baggy clothes and deep hoods. Only her face looks remotely human and with the dark skin, bits of light shiny chitin on the cheekbones, forehead, neck and chin she still looks freakish.
As time goes on she may learn to be more assertive thanks to friends dragging it out of her kicking and screaming. But she's never going to be really outgoing.
Powers:
Her Exemplar 4 makes her tough, but the BIT has really screwed her up.
Her chitin is strong enough to handle heavy machine gun fire as long as its spread out over her body, and her claws and barbs can cut through stainless steel. The barbs are on the forearm, knees, elbows and back of the ankles. The forearms are more like razor blades, while the others are like spurs or spikes. (This forces her to wear loose clothes like dresses and wide sleeve shirts.)
She can feel things almost normally with her chitin but she's noticed that nothing feels quite the same or as intense. So she'll often rub things against her face to get the full effect.
Warping 1: She can stick to any surface that supports her weight. If she moves quickly enough and spreads out her weight she can climb up wall that are fairly weak, and run across calm water, but that is really hard for her. This stickiness only affects her.
Other: She doesn't have many friends, but she is very loyal to the small group she's developed, seeing them as the one normal thing in her life that makes her feel human.

Ahh...I'll post it anyway, though the format is different.
Birthday in February
Codename: Beautician (she had a previous one that she doesn't like to talk about, running gag)
Darcy Gleason's identity is formed around three core ideas, which all other things about her are derived from:
1) She wants to be a hairdresser more than anything, and has since early childhood.
2) She wants to marry a firefighter (don't ask).
3) She does not swear. Ever. She doesn't correct those that do, but she will never swear, under any circumstances. Sometimes she may blush around people who swear frequently.
Appearance: Described as pretty for a non-exemplar, with waist-length black hair (originally a silky blond) that she meticulously cares for, as one with waist-length hair would expect. Approximately 5'4". Eye color, gray-blue. Small B-cup, developing to a full B-cup, smaller than her mother. Fit for the most part, and she runs and does light weightlifting to maintain it.
Powers: Extremely sharp PK claws that only cut against themselves (think scissors), extending two to three inches from each finger. That's it. She's an underdog.
Classes: Survival, Chemistry (which to others' surprise, she is very good at, better than some science-track students who aren't that interested in it. This is due to her hairdresser goal, and how she meets the devisors and gadgeteers that trade her stuff for services)
Friends: Sophomores Maggie "Cabochon" and Fran, Maggie's roommate.
Basics: Described by others as cheerfully oblivious, but she isn't an airhead. She's focused in classes that relate to her two goals. Darcy gets in trouble for practicing cosmetology without a license. A lot. Darcy doesn't mind GSD at all because it goes against her core belief of making girls beautiful and making men look neat and attractive, but she does need something to work with (hair or nails). Darcy wants to be a hairdresser, but is willing to do manicures because she's usually not legally allowed to work on hair. Darcy doesn't do feet. After Christmas 2016, Darcy can be found occasionally reading Nancy Drew novels. Darcy always notices and describes a person's hair in detail when it is her POV.
Dickenson cottage. Her roommate Viola hates her and steals from her constantly.
Background: Run out of a town around Waynesboro, VA in April of 2016 when she manifested, her hair turned black at the roots. It went unnoticed for a week or two, and Darcy did dye her hair to match when she realized. The county sheriff and MCO are after her, especially because her powers are not very strong. Her parents still love her, but they shipped her to her mother's sister in Westport, CT for her safety, and eventually to Whateley to start in September 2016. Other students have tried to get her into yoga or pilates, but she finds them boring due to her energetic nature.
Equipment: Various random castoff gadgets and devices as payment for hairdressing and nail art. Range bag full of beauty supplies, by November, spelled so that only Darcy can open it. Hair chopsticks that deflect bullets proportional to their velocity.
Notes: CT does not require a license for manicures. NH does, VA does. All three states require a license to cut hair. This is why Darcy is perpetually in detention.
Family: Carolyn Gleason (mother, glare of death!), Jason Gleason (father), unnamed brother, Emily Perez (aunt on mother's side), Esteban Perez (uncle, hedge fund manager, puerto rican), Carter Perez (cousin, Emily's eldest, 20), unnamed male cousin (Emily's, 17), Valeria Perez (cousin, Emily's youngest, 13), Carson Gleason (cousin, 16, many pet snakes), presumably other cousins on father's side, estranged grandparents on mother's side.

Character: Monster
name: Jennifer Brown
age: 14
birthdate: October 31st, 1993
class: Freshman
dorm: Whitman
height: 5'4”
weight: 114lbs.
build: Fairly normal build for a baseline teen girl.
eyes: Black
hair: Straight black hair, down to the middle of her back, sometimes seems to move unnaturally.
face: Heart shaped.
distinguishing features: Pale, almost sickly.
place of birth: No idea
Associations:
Ratings: Shifter 3
Background:
Make it up.
Psychology:
Not happy about her powers, sees herself as a monster and hates being forced to shift.
Ratings: Shifter 3
Power: She normally looks like a regular if pale girl, but when she chooses she can change into one of three forms. These forms rip her skin apart leaving a disgusting mess, but doesn't hurt her in anyway. To return to human form takes three or more hours depending on how much damage she took, that's how long it takes for her skin to regrow.
First form: Harpy
This form is about half the size she is, and built for speed. She rips her way out of her skin to take this form.
Large demon wings come out of her back around the shoulder blades. The tips are razor sharp and capable of inflicting razor like cuts. Her legs and arms are extra long, each limb tipped with dexterous fingers and toes, tipped with catlike claws. Her skin is covered in black feathers, and her face looks like a beaked demon.
She has good coordination and extremely good eyesight in this form. She can talk in a screeching voice that hurts the ears to listen to.
She is about as strong as a muscular adult man, and can take about as much damage.
When she runs she can reach and maintain 40mph for about thirty minutes, and can keep a steady pace of 25mph until her skin regrows.
Flying lets her achieve speeds of 60mph, with a good tailwind it can be 80mph. This can be maintained until her skin regrows.
Second Form: Meat Shield
This is a particularly disturbing transformation as she seems to erupt out of her skin into a hulking monster.
A physical monster, in this form she weighs 800 pounds and looks like a bony, meaty mountain with fists the size of boulders. Standing an impressive 9ft tall she is capable of exerting over a tonne of force in a punch, and taking a hit about as well as Lancer.
However, she is slow, her running speed being a fast walk for most people. Anyone light on their feet will be able to run circles around her easily. She is also impossible to hide without something huge to cover her up.
She can talk, but it sounds like rocks grinding together, and any fine motor skills are virtually impossible.
Third Form: Burn
This form is for killing.
Teeth is a little larger than her normal shape, with long arms that seem made to reach out and grab someone. She's covered in pitch black leathery skin that is very hard to pierce. Her eyes are buglike and brilliant blue, covered in armour giving her great peripheral vision.
Her fingers are about twice as long as normal, with long claws like fish hooks allowing her to snag victims and drag them in close. When the victim is close she can then use her clawed feet to gut him or bit them with her oversized mouth and teeth. More importantly her hands and claws burn, she can melt metal by holding it and concentrating. So she can grab something in her claws and burn them inside and out as she eviscerates them.
She is extremely agile in this form, double jointed and capable of bending in two to surprise opponents.
She is a high end Exemplar three in terms of strength and durability, although she's harder to hurt with blades due to her skin.
She can't talk, has trouble manipulating things due to her claws, and anyone who doesn't know her is going to panic when they see her. She looks like she will kill everything around her.
Next up the schizophrenic manifestor. I actually like the idea a lot but she would be hard to write as a main character, and she'd overpower the story as an important secondary character. As a tertiary character she could work here.
Character: Just Me
name: Ellie Blair
age: 14
birthdate: August 21st, 1993
class: Freshman
dorm: Hawthorne
height: 5'3”
weight: 108lbs.
build: Normal build for a teenage girl of her age, still has lots of room to develop.
eyes: Kaleidoscope of colours
hair: Extra short black hair,
face: Round
distinguishing features: Pale skin, several scars, especially on her back, lower arms and legs. The ones that had been on her face and lower arms were healed by magic before the start of the school term began.
place of birth: Somewhere in the Northern US.
Associations:
Ratings: Manifestor 4
Background:
Ellie came from a fairly normal family, her parents, an older brother who annoyed her but she loved anyways and her.
Then her brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia shortly after he turned fifteen. For a year the family struggled with it, but in the end he hung himself in the backyard.
Ellie became terrified that she could become like her brother.
She manifested in the summer just two months before her birthday, and it caused a chemical imbalance that sent her into the throes of mental illness.
The first few weeks were terrifying for her and her family. Her mutation makes it so that no medicine can her schizophrenia, and her mutation is directly related to her mental illness. The destructive manifestations had her considering ending it all many times until Whateley was notified of her condition by a doctor that had worked with mutants before. She was sent to Whateley within a matter of days.
Psychology:
Ellie can generally pass as normal thanks to very careful use of her powers. She is shy, but enjoys watching romcoms, jogging and biking, and drawing with friends. Sometimes her emotions are flat, she becomes very quiet, and speak in nonsensical ways when asked questions, but that's the worst of it and generally passes within a few hours or a day or two.
However when stressed or pushed beyond her comfort zone she begins complaining about people watching her. If asked who is watching her she goes on a long and detailed explanation that her life is a reality tv show and if she doesn't entertain the people they'll make it interesting by making it a horror show again. She isn't scared or angry, just annoyed and complains that it's really tiring.
When she gets like that, teachers and those in the know typically try to get her somewhere calm and peaceful where she can be guarded by security who will us deadly force to keep the monsters away, until the episode is over.
Ratings: Manifestor 4
Power:
Ellie manifests clones of herself, up to a maximum of five of them.
The first clone looks almost exactly like her except it's face is twisted with anger. It hates Ellie, it will try to get her into trouble, attacking her friends and family verbally, telling lies about her, committing crimes, etc. The only time it shows joy is when Ellie is suffering.
The second clone also looks like Ellie but it has a deformity or marking that makes her scary to look at. It's more destructive than the first and if lies and verbal attacks don't work, will physically attack people and things, trying to destroy anything Ellie cares about.
The third one is more deformed, it has claws or fangs, or barbed elbows and knees. It physically attacks Ellie and her family, it doesn't try to kill Ellie, but it wants her to hurt. It's as strong as an upper edge exemplar 2. The police in her home town had to deal with this type several times and learned after the first time to shoot to kill.
The fourth is as strong as an exemplar 3, it is clearly inhuman. It is the cleverest of the bunch and takes great joy in hurting Ellie through traps and mental torture. It focuses most of it's attention on her ignoring all else. Ellie's parents took to wearing pistols around the house to deal with this one fortunately it only appeared three times before she came to Whateley.
The fifth has only appeared once, just after Ellie went to Whateley and was going through one of her worst episodes. It is a monstrous mockery of her, Exemplar 4 strength and durability, claws, teeth, spikes and a beast like personality that wants to destroy the world.
The manifestations last one day and cannot be willed away before the time is up, they can only be destroyed.
Ellie doesn't want to let any of the manifestations out, but it has been discovered that letting out the first one or two will lessen her symptoms significantly. So each morning she goes to Kane and releases the first stage manifestation in a cell, where it can't do any damage, and goes on with her day.
On really bad days she'll release two of them into the cell as security stands by with guns at the ready to ensure they don't try to escape. Then Ellie will get a computer and do her homework in Kane or Hawthorne while being watched, with an auxiliary or several regular security officers ready to move in and put down a third or fourth manifestation if they pop out.
Something interesting that was found out at Whateley shortly before the start of the school year is that if Ellie is threatened her manifestations will protect her. They seem to understand that if she dies they won't be around anymore, or it may simply be that no one can attack her but them, the various manifestations enjoy lying when asked questions and never give the same answer twice.
When a UV student began attacking her, the panic made her manifest a second, third and fourth clone unwillingly. Rather than attacking Ellie they immediately jumped on the UV student and tried to kill him.
She was given a UV band by the end of the day.

OH... Ramping up the threat level slowly, and starting small, keeps the clones from being an instant death sentence! ... And also the "They don't really try to ''kill'' her" bit.
And the 4th Wall Sight is always funny / cool!
What if a clone was forced to exist permanent-like, like Pern, or if they're frozen in ARC?? Would they still alleviate her symptoms?

And your idea is a no. At the end of 24 hours the manifestations evaporate into the ether. Magic might hold them, but it would require specialized spells and a whole host of unknown risks.
The "fourth wall sight" you're talking about the probability warper Probably? I liked the idea to. She has the potential to be extremely powerful, but that power comes with a huge enough drawback that she avoids being a Mary Sue and has enough problems to stay interesting.

I think by "4th Wall Sight", Malady was referring to the hallucinations that she would have of being on a reality TV show.
I do think that it would mean that she should be looking for another director.
Watch out for her following you...

My tired brain hadn't even thought of that, with the original write up I hadn't given a specific focus for her mental illness, and I wanted to avoid the traditional movie symptoms while keeping it grounded on actual experiences schizophrenics have with the disease. It seemed the most interesting.Mister D wrote:

And if I was writing her, she could rest easy in that this would be about the worst thing that would happen to her. And frankly what I plan for other MC's and secondary characters is far worse, at least in the short term.
