...with the possible exception of more Imp. I mean, posting two chapters in a row last week was already unusual; three chapters in a row is to be unexpected.
Other than that... the other possibilities that come to mind are:
- A story with a new protagonist, coming from one of the active authors (Bek in particular does this with some regularity, although many of the other writers have been known to come up with new characters now and then;)
- A story from one of the writers who are semi-active at best (meaning, showing up on the forums now and then but who haven't posted anything new in a while). That would include ElrodW, Kristin, Dr. Bender, Heather and about half of the Gen2 team.
- A story from one of the authors who we have considered "out of the game" for one reason or another -- Maggie, Renae, Babs, Starwolf, Diane, Hart, ScramblerJ, Liliandra...
- A story from an entirely new author;
- A non-Whateley story
- No story at all.

Alas, Elisa is being petulant, though Sheila is giving me that 7th Ave Come On wink Paul Simon sang about.

Though, to be fair, there have been hints about what is coming, but alas, were we to hear from any of the silents, (Babs, Scrambler, Lilandra) we would not tease you guys about something that big. However I will say the Sir Lee's logic is always sound and Valentine has a nice guess.
Wrong, but nice.

That's one that could also be hinted at in flashback, via a Gen 2 story.
More about the Animen would also give some good world-building.
But, after reading Kettlekorn's latest about the Fred Force, i'll say Samhain munchies for all of the authors, as whatever is released will be well-written.

I love watching their innocent little faces smiling happily as they trip gaily down the garden path, before finding the pit with the rusty spikes.

Surely you didn't squander all your pastries, cookies, cakes, and other assorted tasty comestibles wagering on some stupid, obscure football game I heard was being played somewhere today! Surely you have some crumbs left over to wager?
Like - a pina colada sponge layer cake with whipped-cream/cream cheese frosting, soaked with coconut milk and rum, and layered with pineapple and frosting?
Say, that sounds tasty. I'm gonna have to get me one of them! I'll wager that on ..... hold on, technical interruption (mumble mumble mumble. Really?!? No! mumble mumble mumble Dangit!) Well, back off that wager. According to the ref, we canon authors are not allowed to wager since we ostensibly know the publishing schedule. Dang! I was so looking forward to that cake!

No spoilers to be given here, but the aftermath IS in work. It's just requiring coordination among 3 authors, so it's taking a bit longer.

So, I'll bet pumpkin risotto (not suitable for rectal ramming , that would be a terrible waste) on a post-Thanksgiving R&R. With a side bet of devisor brownies that a very disgruntled Portland Power Posse show up at Whateley that week (rather late in the semester, to be sure, but there was a little matter of a court order...).

Something happened to those Hershey kisses...I'll just blame the kids.
Still holding out for ElrodW or Morpheus. Leftovers from SB party. Still tasty!

Four of the last ten Gen1 stories are written by Morpheus, a three-part story from E.E. Nalley, the remainder from JG, ElrodW, and Bek D. Corbin.
It would be interesting to see Esoteric get involved in the All Hallows Aftermath, but ElrodW said three authors were collaborating/coordinating/flinging harpoons at each other.
Considering the side characters involved, a healthy batch of mujadara on 'Shine 2, Part 4.
