  • Wrong time of the year for a "Tia is mistaken for the Easter bunny" story, but I'm gonna guess a Tia story for Gen II and something Hank for Gen 1. Plus Spirit-Chan and Absinthe II Also, Root Beer Floats for all!

I was thinking more having Pounce jumping out of a giant cupcake, but putting her in a big bowl of chocolate sauce works to. Who cares about fur in the chocolate.

  • Cheese cake on Absinthe Of Malice, The Gates of the Garden takes place October 26th, and Absinthe ends October 12th with Gwen on the way to Whateley.

alternative bet, Snicker-doodles on Glow 2, though they may go to whomever catches why that is my wager for Glow. (I am counting all of A Glow in the Darkness as Glow 1)

I have reasons for suspecting a Morph story. And that any Gen 1 stories at the school for a little bit will have to be BEFORE the Parents day group of stories, because it makes sense to group those all together, The Gates of the Garden is NOT a Parents day, though it does have a bunch pertaining to it, Absinthe of Malice (or at least a Part 1 of it) for example has to occur before parents day, so it will most likely be published before the Gen 1 Y 2 Parents Day proper stories begin.

You can consider the dwarf bread a self defense weapon that is legal in at least 40 states. It will also work as rations for when the zombies attack. Leave some out for stray animals and eat whatever ones kill themselves trying to eat the bread.

I think I'd sooner eat corium. It may be more edible, or at least less poisonous.

Anyway, keeping my earlier bet of Irish cream on a Backtrack's first solo story. Though that joke is probably played out by now.

I would ask if he's Samoan, but that would be mixing our 'verses up...

I don't get your reference, anyway... the only one I can think of is District Attorney Daniels from Night Court, and I don't recall bourbon coming up regarding him.

Also, IIRC both the real-life Oscar Zeta Acosta , and Benicio del Torro (who played his fictional counterpart Dr. Gonzo in the movie version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas ), were/are quite tall. Zeta was Mexican-American, and was a Chicano Movement activist; the Samoan thing was originally a throw-away joke about Duke/HST's befuddlement at that point in the book, which HST then decided to keep using as a way of muddying the waters regarding Gonzo's identity.

Fun/Extremely Disturbing Fact: while the book is fictional, it was mostly based on actual events. Starting off as an article for a sports magazine, HST intended the book as an experiment in Gonzo Journalism, but it was so disjointed that he concluded it wasn't going to work out right, so he reworked his notes and fictionalized it. It is primarily based three trips Thompson and Acosta made to Las Vegas over a span of two months, and they really were there to cover an off-road race (for the first trip), and a National District Attorney's Convention (the third trip, I think - IIRC, the second, shortest one was to try and gather some additional information for the original planned article). They were both looking to get out of LA for a while for other reasons - they needed somewhere where they could discuss in private another article HST was writing; also, a lot of people were accusing Acosta and Thompson of being FBI informants, and there had been some death threats, so they wanted to let it cool down a bit - and HST took the assignments in part as an excuse to do that. Several of the incidents reportedly actually happened, though not always on one of those trips. AFAICT, the bathtub incident in particular happened a few months earlier, in San Diego, and involved about a half dozen people trying to keep someone - I don't think it was either Acosta or Thompson - from electrocuting himself for unknown reasons.

It's from a different superhero series, and also referenced in the Lost'n'Found section.

If no-one gets it soon, i'll reveal, as it's an excellent series, with all chapters released as free audio-books.

  • This is going to sound really dumb, but as I sat down to check what the newest story was, I said to myself "what's new, pussycat?" I then got distracted because I realized that while I was familiar with the phrase, I had no idea where it came from, so I looked it up. Then I got back to checking the newest story, only to discover that it was, in fact, "What's New, Pussycat?"

I swear that up until that point I had completely forgotten that there was a story with that name.

I think you've got the wrong Big Guy. Though if you are suggesting pitting Groo against Supes, then I definitely want to watch. From the Moon.

I do have to wonder just what Kryptonian tastebuds must be like - seriously, I know he grew up in Kansas but that just sounds disgusting. No amount of 'whitebread tastes' could explain putting ketchup on Beef Bourguignon, even if it started out as a joke about him being a bit of a hick. Though I wonder if the current canon includes the ketchup part.

Yeah, you need A1 sauce with horseradish.

NOOOO! Devisor Chocochip cookies, we need guards on them to make sure neither Chaka nor Teri get a hold of them. Or the school will be leveled.

And I bid chocolate chip cookies with dragon peppers mixed in them for part 3 of A Dragon Abroad.

Thank You for story comments appreciated and help me know me they are being read and liked. :-) Note: My story comments can't nor are trying to replace reading the stories, simply my way of enjoying them and letting the authors know I enjoy them.

Placing a bet on a solo story for Red, I take it.

(Actually, is the EXTREEEEME omnivory a real part of the Red Cap legends, or was that something White Wolf made up?)

Of course, the ugly clothes ref might mean you were thinking of Razorback, but if so, you'd expect him to recognize them.

    Raises Eyebrow.

Generally I would state the words turnip and dessert should not be used in the same sentence. I would also point out this being a FOOD Casino, wagered items must be food. Amish, huh? Alright, we'll let this one slide...

  • Hank is good, Tia is better (been too long) and Bianca is #1 requested. Eisenmadel would not go amiss. Mostly I want Gen 2 this week, but I'm also good with Vegas.

I'm putting up african ramen made with chilipeppers.

You realize by making this kind of bet, you almost assure neither of those story types will be released next. It is rare to find actual good fruitcake. Though the bad kind can be used as a weapon. :silly:

Thank You for story comments appreciated and help me know me they are being read and liked. :-) Note: My story comments can't nor are trying to replace reading the stories, simply my way of enjoying them and letting the authors know I enjoy them.

I know of a great fruitcake recipe, WNCX's is amazing, if you have enough whiskey to make it, and can hold enough to follow said recipe....

*snerk* that made me think of something else. My birthday was a couple days ago. when you back-trace it, do I blame my existence on Valentine's Day?

There's online calculators for that! If you were born a couple of weeks early, you could blame St. Patrick.

  • I think Bek is bound to finish Vegas first. There's just one chapter left.

Anyway, there was a sort-of urban legend here in Brazil that there was a spike in births around... this time of the year, give or take a few weeks depending on the particular date of Easter for that year. Blame Carnival. With a somewhat smaller spike in late September/early October, due to New Year's. I never seen anyone with hard data supporting this legend, mind you...

There was allegedly a spike in births in July, 17 in Chicago. 9 months after the Cubs won the World Series. www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaki...-20170726-story.html

  • Well, hell - I looked at a calculator, based on when I was born and the fact that I was 2 weeks late.

Coitus was likely around Dec 31/Jan 1.
Mom and Dad probably had a little New Years' celebration.
