All of the Emperor's legitimate male descendants, all of his legitimate unmarried female descendants, his wife, his mother, and his mother's mother

The Emperor is the ruler of Japan.
The Dowager Empress is his widowed mother who has 'retired' from being sovereign.
The Grand Dowager Empress is the Emperor's Grandmother, who also has retired before her daughter, the Dowager Empress became Empress.

Lemme draft something...
RealWorld
The Imperial House of Japan, is the Emperor of Japan, his legitimate male descendants, all of his legitimate unmarried female descendants, his wife, his mother, and his mother's mother.
As of the 2016-2017 school year of Whateley Academy, the reigning Emperor is X, with the other members of the Imperial House, outlined by the family tree below
Emperor Akihito
Princess Kiko
Princess Kako
The article specifies that Princess Kiko is the elder, Princess Kako is the younger. Princess Kiko became a member of the Imperial House on marrying Prince Fumihito, so I got it backwards.
I'm still not sure what to do about titles. Apparently, members of the Imperial Household do not have what we would regard as family names. I'm inclined to follow Wikipedia's lead and use Prince and Princess instead of the romanization of the Japanese. However, that's going to require a lot of renaming and other changes, so I'm probably just going to put in some redirects and otherwise fix references as I find them.
Acceptable?

It's a team, just like The Nations , also : Cape Squad, Imp Revenge Squad, Grunts, Monster Squad, Team Awesome!, etc.
Since the category listings can be linked as easily as the main pages for the teams (like under "associations" or "friends" where readers want to know *who* is on the team, not *what* the team is) there's no reason to "move the category"
I.e.

Yes. In fact, that's the current task on my agenda. I started it a couple of weeks ago, and then got sidetracked by "Shenanigans Too", which required doing "A Little R&R 3". It's going to take a few months to do the entire list, since I'm going through all the stories and making sure that there are character pages for all the characters.
As far as updating the character list, I've been ignoring that. If that seems to be important, I'll add updating it to the task list.

After looking at the character lists, the 2016 student list should be complete as of October 27, 2017. (Thank you, Baby Valentine). Granted, new students are added all the time, but from the looks of it most of them are in that list. Likewise, the 2007 student list looks pretty comprehensive.
Most of the 2016 names will not be in the other lists, and probably won't be added - the main list is already too big.
People who are not students seem to be missing from the main lists, and I'll add them as I come to them.

I'm proposing to ditch the main table and reorganize the rest into five tables:
* (Sortable) Gen1 Student List
* (Sortable) Gen2 Student List
* (Sortable) Code Name list (non-students)
* (Sortable) non-Code Name list (non-students)
* (Sortable) Entity List
This is sort of what we've got now, except that it separates the students from the non-students.
This is obviously not going to happen overnight.

I remember the discussion on the forums. The reason for suggesting moving it to the wiki is that it's simply a whole lot easier to update the wiki. Anyone can do it, and it doesn't require a forum administrator to move stuff around. It's a matter of convenience in keeping the lists up to date.

The big problem is the size - some components are just choking on it, so that's why I'm proposing separating students from non-students.
i'd been mulling organizing them alphabetically, but while it would cut down the size of individual tables, it would be a lot harder to simply browse.
Something to keep mulling over.

- Split the student tables into sortables
- Keep an unsortable Code Name table unified (it's still searchable!)
- A separate sortable list for non-students without code names
Why? I like to check the Code Name list to make sure something I come up with for WhatIFs and microscenes hasn't already been used. Using something that's already canon would be super embarrassing for me, and potentially confusing to any potential readers.
But you can split the Gen 1 and 2 tables because Code Names can be reused while the students are at school. You'd get some duplicates in the full list, but that's actually better to know for continuity.

Let me see if I understand this. I'm breaking it down into three parts for clarity.
Your first recommendation is to get rid of the sortable character index and replace it with the other four existing indexes. I can see that - in fact, I'm going to put a note in that table that I'm not updating it any more.
Your second recommendation is to make the main code name table unsortable. That may, in fact, help, although I suspect not since it does not appear to sort the table when it's first presented. In favor, though, is I don't see any real advantage in sorting instead of simply using the browser's find function.
Does anyone actually use the sort facility?
Your third recommendation is to use Gen1 and Gen2 for students instead of the current split into 2007 and 2016. IOW, put everyone in Gen 1 into the same table, instead of breaking it out into individual years. I kind of like that. The question I'd have there is that it would make it a bit more difficult to tell whether a student was on campus in any particular year, although it would cut down on duplication.

Yes, that's basically what I was going for. The main code name table doesn't need to be sortable was what I was getting at. Just a regular big table. This suggestion is based on my own personal usage patterns of these tables. If for instance, one of the authors uses them differently, you should get their suggestions as well.
I'm confused about the last clarification though. Isn't their "Class of 20XX" still included? You'd know when they're suppose to be on campus or not from that.

I, for one, do not use the sort feature.
I like the idea of using Gen1 and Gen 2 for students.
Lastly, if the other lists are complete, I think it better to just junk a non-maintained list, rather than retaining it and confusing users. ("Where is So-and-so? Not to mention Thingamajob?"

Correct.
Ev Rocks is all "peace, love, and Bobby Shermann", while Vanguard is "if you come after us, we ain't going the way of the Warsaw ghetto". Vanguard pushes publicity as 'victims', especially when H1 or MCO overreact and hurt someone who could be a sister or daughter or such. And they heavily lobby politicians and businesses, stressing all the good things that have come from mutants.
The Directorate works through Vanguard to take control of the narrative, pushing pro-mutant and anti-MCO publicity, buying politicians, etc, while the Directorate behind the scenes is working for financial control, backs Stauffer's projects, and funds Reineke's project to protect mutants if "der Tag" comes. (Reineke is a little out of control and hides his true intentions. As does Stauffer.)

It has been done for many teams, clubs and cliques in the past, yes, and I see no reason to stop doing it. In a nutshell, it's easier to tag a member with the category than to remember to edit the group page, so it ends up being a bit more reliable.

In a few cases, there's a lot of overlap between teams, cliques and clubs. There are cliques built around a team (Kimbas, Outcasts, Mutant Mayhem Machine), where there are a few people who aren't technically members of the team who nevertheless are part of the clique; there are clubs who have an associated training team (the Grunts come to mind)... in such cases, they might be categorized as BOTH a clique and a team.

In essence, what would have to be done is to create a new category and recategorize all the members to it. It's usually done via the bot because (a) it's boring drudgery and (b) this ensures a quick and complete changeover.
I would leave the no-spaced, CamelCased version as a redirect, however.Malady wrote: And just so I don't forget, I gotta space out "GhostWalkers"... crystalhall.fandom.com/wiki/Special:What...ostWalkers?limit=500

Basically just an index of its internal stories, with all Characters info, being on the individual story pages?
Or not, since we can't link to individual sections?
Also, should Class of 2020's stories, link back to the Anthology's page?

As for the lack of direct links (which in theory *could* be improved by someone with editing permissions adding an "id=storyx" to each H2 tag -- although I have no idea if the CMS would strip those automatically), it can be handled on the wiki side by using a format similar to this for the first paragraph:
"In the mood" is a short story by E. E. Nalley, about {whatever}. It was published as the second story in the anthology "Tales of Summer"..."

Malady wrote: ... What can we do about all the dates?
Ignore them. I don't think getting to zero wanted pages is a serious goal: we know what the dates are, and what the template are, and there's no real damage in leaving them undefined. They don't cause any problems for anyone who is trying to use the Wiki as source material, like some of the authors. They just look ugly. Ugly I can deal with. Extra work to turn dates off and on I'd prefer to avoid.
There are lots of characters who appear once and where we only have a given name. Many of them don't have links. If you want to shove Wanted Pages back over a thousand, just create links for all the unlinked students in the Gen 2 page.

They were given, already tattooed?
The order is likely Ashtea, Jialing...
Jialing likely died from being Destiny's Wave, but how did Ashtea die???

Malady wrote: Okay, so, maybe call Ashtea, "An incarnation of the Third Artificer" ... And then take her description from her entry on "Artificer", with a few grammar tweaks?
I didn't make a separate page for her when putting together Vauldrene, because she doesn't have a story outside being a memory of Eldritch's and Absinthe. I don't think it was made clear whether she's one of the artifact's memories of past hosts or Caitlin's memories of one of her past lives. However, Ashtea takes you about where you'd want to go.
Malady wrote: Speaking of Artificers, do we know enough to speculate well on their order? If the Third originated as one of the ones given to the Five Fold Court... And had no history before that...
"Given" isn't "made". Jialing was told when she returned to Penglai Shan that there had always been Artificers - predating the Five Fold Court. Destiny's Wave is strongly hinted to house Jialing or some part of her soul. IIRC, if the Mage Smith didn't predate the Court, their time was well before the Sundering.
As a contemporary of Vauldrene and a magical construct, Ashtea's time was probably ended by the Sundering.
The one that sacrificed an entire village was probably a very long time back even though humans of a sort are mentioned. Shoggoths were pets and then exterminators of the Great Old Ones. However, post-Sundering, there are some other Mythos-linked possibilities. Consider her lost in time.
It wasn't mentioned when Chuan Lien-Hua may have lived. Wikipedia puts the Shang Dynasty (1556 to 1046 BCE) after the "semi-mythical" (i.e., good time for armies of the undead) Xia Dynasty (c. 2070 BCE – c. 1600 BCE) If her story fits into the Eastern Zhou dynasty period, she'd be close in time to Archaic Greece.
Galatea was a "gift" to Pygmalion from Aphrodite, Archaic Greece when carving life-size human sculptures in hard stone began in Greece (eighth century BC to the second Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC) or later. Hesiod and Homer date to this period.
Trying to pin a date too closely on undated materials in this case may not work. But one of the problems is that few people realize how early - compared to Greece and Rome - China's recorded history starts.
Malady wrote: They were given, already tattooed?
It was not stated in texts I looked at one way or the other. However, Aunghadhail did NOT know that they'd ever been anything but things until Dec 2006, so they probably were gifted already tattooed. There's mention of Jialing expressing her displeasure on her master, so they also weren't directly owned by the royalty.
Malady wrote: Depending on how accurate Eldritch is, there's also "something that happened in Norway back before the dark ages" ... That we haven't noted...
That would have been a mostly unknown life/host. The Dark Ages/Early Middle Ages were the 5th or 6th century to the 10th century: after the Olympians got locked up and well before the 4th Crusade (1202–1204)

The Contents box catches the nesting, and the resulting pages are using <h3> and <h4>, so the problem may be that the style-sheet gives h3 a 17px character height and h4 a 15px character height, but doesn't indent the headers or decorate them beyond that.

Ricardo was a Hispanic boy, who was so flamboyantly gay that he came off as a bit of a stereotype. Adding to that impression, was the fact that he wanted to become a professional makeup artist after he graduated.

before the categories get scrambled up. I'd been using actual or suspected WIZ traits for Wizard, myself.
Edit:
"Exactly," Mrs. Chulkris beamed. "A baseline Journeyman mage with four to six years study and gathering Essence is likely to have as much Essence available to him as a mutant Wizard between 2 and 3 rating. Only a dedicated Master will match a new Wiz-3.
This suggests to me that a "mage" has had traditional training, not relying on a WIZ trait.
People who don't cast spells or have WIZ traits, but use magical gear or an entirely informal or non-Western approach ( Bladedancer ?) might still fit as "magic users".

In Gen 2, there are five stories that I haven't processed:
Professional Courtesy
Hunger
Meanwhile in Castle Groenwald
Evil Genius
Dorms 4
I'm not going to process the first four - three of them are essentially side stories with lots of characters that don't appear in any other stories. The fourth (Meanwhile...) is similar: all continuing characters have their character pages.
Dorms 4 is next. That will complete bringing Generation 2 up to date. What's needed to KEEP it up to date is to process each part of each new Gen 2 story as it's published.
In other news, the wanted list is down to 647.
Once I've finished Dorms 4, the next major project is to bring Gen 1 up to date. My instinct is to simply stsrt at the beginning, go on to the end, and then stop. However, I think there are series that would help the canon authors if they were done first before stories that no one cares about any more.
So tell me!

I just jumped into the middle of E.E.'s stories, and there isn't any day-by-day summary or timeline for
The Kodiak in Winter
A Cold Plate of Vengence
Whilst Any Speaks (4 parts)
North to Atlantis
The Kodiak Conspiracy (5 parts)
So the answer is: basically everything in the years I was gone.

Having trouble with determining what the Bird-Bat-thing is.
John Carlyle is a biodevisor with Diedrick's syndrome. He mostly hides out in the mountains so his alter ego, Doctor Talltale, can't do too much harm. Daniel's pastries do him a lot of good. He created Cookie, a two headed dog.
He's married to Cordelia, although possibly divorced.
Doctor Talltale is a Devisor, whose dog, nicknamed "Cookie", somehow got into Donut's possession.

* [Goofus bird?]: There was a dark shape in the sky. It blocked the stars and swooped in, to land with a big flapping of wings. This new critter was sort of a bat, sort of a bird, and sort of something else entirely. Daniel couldn't tell much else in the darkness.
* jackalopes: "A really, really big rabbit. It turned to look like him, and he could see two jagged horns sticking from its forehead." ... "a jackrabbit the size of a half-grown deer." ... "very non-vegetarian fangs" ... "beady red eyes"
* flittericks: "pointy ears and beady black eyes" ... "Flittericks, Mr. Carlyle had called them. Miz Cordelia had once described them as overgrown flying squirrels with super hard noggins. They'd climb trees and then swoop down to smash people in the head. On the ground, they didn't seem so tough."
* rubberados: "looked like porcupines, only blown up like balloons", and rubbery. They bounce when struck? ... "a beachball-sized mass of skin, claws, and needly quills"
* splintercat: "a spiky-furred critter was moaning and shaking its head. It was about half the size of Cookie, and even stockier. Four legs stuck out sideways, and a bushy tail stood straight. When it turned around, Daniel could see two yellow eyes like dinner plates, and a broad smile filled with sharp teeth. ... super fast, but couldn't change course that good. Usually it rammed trees to get at the critters that lived in them, but it'd attack anything else that came near. As the splintercat hunkered down for another mad dash, he remembered something else, too: that all those blows to the head made it crazy and irritable." - Dead.

Some of Myra's students are native speakers, they just lack reading and writing skills. Others, like Kenshin, needs "English as a Second Language" If it helps, the Three Witches were taking MC 050- ‘Common Sense for Dingbats’ in Year One.
One of the problems with the class naming is that it's never been very clear if "English I" is a one- or two-semester class (NH wants graduates to have four credits/eight semesters of English)
Vamp is assigned remedial classes for all the major subjects in Winter 2007, to get her caught up with the other freshmen the following term. Tennyo's in Dr. Winslow’s remedial mathematics class, there's also remedial algebra and remedial pre-algebra.

One way or another, each of you here needs help catching up. It could be because you're from another country, and this is your first time to study in English. Or perhaps your previous schools failed you in some way, and you were never taught what you need. A few of you had to skip school for several months, for reasons that are your own. And lastly, there are some -- and you know who you are, so I shall not say -- who are several times smarter now than you were six months ago. The Nefarious Three is a three-part Gen2 story by Bek D. Corbin about what is presumably the titular group of three, of Wheels, Doc and Slim. It starts sometime in 2016-09, since it's been a month after The Countess robbed the Guggenheim back in Professional Courtesy.
Summary
Part 1
Part 1 was published on 2019-08-19, and its events are some time in 2016-09.
Characters
* Slim
* Green Devil

* Wheels
* Vitreus
* Witch Queen
* Doc
* Slick
* Charlie
* Marco Daddy
* Belphegor
* Texas Jack - Mentioned.
* Witch Hunter
* Frost
* Tek-Spider - Koala, having changed her codename?
* Belladonna
* Ulrike
* Artful Dodger
* Joss Whedon - Mentioned.
* Jobe - Mentioned.
* CASPAR - One of Belphegor's VI / AIs.
* Nephandus - Mentioned.
* Hazard - Mentioned.

(Edit) Yeah, reviewing the two stories where the Witch Hunter and his alleged ancestor is mentioned, there's no reason to have a page about him. It's like having a page about, I don't know, Julius Caesar -- a historical personage who, AFAWK, was exactly the same in the Whateley Universe as in the "Real World." (And somebody will likely dig a quote proving that my analogy is bogus because the WU Julius Caesar was a mutant or something). I'll make a few adjustments...

Only Gregory faced the thing directly, keeping its overly long arms occupied with a grappling move not unlike a rugby scrum. Greenish muscles bulged as they forced themselves against silvery PK, but Pantagruel's attention was too distracted to put its full effort in.

OTOH, there are occasional small crossovers between the SG stories and the Whateley stories, such as the Bad Seeds analyzing the results of Dr. Dad's Cleveland raid. So it would make some sense to place the SG stories along the Year 1 Whateley stories.
Alternatively, if anybody feels up to it, a bunch of stories that only lightly, if ever, touch on the campus affairs (consider the Loose Cannons ones, for instance) could be moved to a separate list. But I'm no particular fan of doing so; consider Envy and Scapegrace, who begin off-campus but eventually move to Whateley. Setting them in the "off-campus" for the first story and "on-campus" later could get confusing. Or consider the Gen2 tales such as Evil Genius, which are entirely off-campus but involve Gen1 characters.

While it seems reasonable in either location, I think having it as a sub-section of Medical - or at least cross-referenced with it - makes more sense.
IIRC, high school guidance counselors often have training in social work and counseling.
In the US, Psychiatrists are Medical Doctors whereas Psychologists often go for a PhD. (Joreymay might know of people with both degrees) However, the fields intersect, so I think they'd be hired as Medical Staff even while some also have faculty advisor duties.

Sometimes it's used in the sense of "academic advisor," which may be just someone in the faculty or staff taking the additional role of helping students navigate the school bureaucracy.
Other times it's used in the sense of "psychological counseling." Those may run the gamut from social workers to clinical psychologists to medical doctors specializing in psychiatry.
To make it more confusing, we have people at Whateley who fit both meanings of "counselor." Dr. Bellows is a notorious case.
What I would suggest is to concentrate on the "psychological counseling" aspect, which would put it more or less(*) in the medical area.
Having a section dedicated to "academic advisors" under "administrative" does not make a lot of sense, since it's doubtful that there is anybody whose main job is "academic advisor to students"
