Question The Bad Ideas thread

Little Helper
A big guy, manifests a tiny five year old little girl 'helper', who is always ready to help.
This little girl will defend the big guy from all dangers, using all the skill and strength of a five year old. Generally getting in the way, tugging at someone, and telling them to stop being bad. This danger could be teasing from a friend, an angry boss yelling at him, or a crazy raging mutant.
She will also do whatever she thinks is helpful. This can be relaying messages, "You have to um... uh... go to the kitchen... and... um, one minute I'll be right back!" Taking care of a sick relative, "Come on lets go to bed. You need to go to sleep now. Come on," and tugging on their arm until they give in. Or simply giving a hug.
Unfortunately as a five year old the helper is easily distracted, often demanding of things, especially legos, juice, and stories, has all the capabilities of a five year old, and is never more than a fifty meters away, usually closer.
If she does get in over her head, she'll reappear ten minutes later as good as new.

If the manifestation is not photo-realistic, then it is not automatically illegal, but it still has to pass the Miller test for obscenity.

I actually think it would be kind of interesting if a specific hero's power required all the villains in the area to dress or act a certain way, how it would then cast suspicion on everyone in the area who naturally looked like that (in this case, bald).

I don't post many of my own ideas in this thread. Mainly because all of my ideas are good ideas. But I have a file full of corny bit characters I've come up with for future stories, and I'd like to post some of their names since I probably won't get around to using them for a while, and they may lighten the mood.
Beodawg
The High Fructose
Ramen Shamen
Ventrillocricket
Super Yooper
Menaced Meat

I'm actually planning out a non-Whateley story right now, and one of the street gangs is named "The Cueballs" because they all shave their heads. It hadn't yet occurred to me that I should consider the impact that has on other bald folks in the neighborhood. Thanks for mentioning that.

I bet you can come up with power concepts for the other names which would make them dangerous or annoying foes to deal with.
Thank You for story comments appreciated and help me know me they are being read and liked.

An unapproved genetic experiment where a female mongoose was mutated into a cute half human mongoose with human intelligence. She ran away from the strange furry scientist who wanted to make her his bride and took to the street.
She learned how to fight from the Marital Artist, who took Monagoose in as an apprentice after seeing her move.
Now she is a a model for adult magazines and artists by day and a crime fighter by night. However there has been a huge upswing in nonviolent crimes, where criminals seem to wait for her and even call her out, so she can deliver her intimate brand of justice.
Note: she once did a pilot for a reality tv show called Mutant Justice. But it was heavily censored and ultimately banned from tv. However it's a smash hit amongst adult video stores, and there's talk of making a sequel.

Description: Sidhe Mech-devisor, has to use natural and mystical matterials for the primary or coating materials of most devises on account of Sidhe allergies, only dabbles into biologics for base materials, and then only after some nasty reactions, and trips to Doyle. Freshman year was hell, being Sidhe she has the Wizard trait, and has to take the magic track, however as a mech-devisor, its hard to get her out of the mech-lab, which is filled with synthetic materials, and having, albeit a relatively minor case of Diedrick's, well stuff happens, usually when she attempts to integrate magic with devises, eventually of course, instead of trying for direct integration, by the time of her freshman spring combat final, she figured out that using trigger mechanisms to interface magic and devise can be effective, thus now when she dricks out, it takes both the magic and tech types to counter- safely, fortunately this is a rare occurrence.
notes, early creations used a good amount of wood, and cloth so the issue was more getting Tekhe out before she burned herself, now its more of an enchanted devisor wood, enchanted to be fireproof and devised for the strength, a lot of Mystic types don't trust her because she's a devisor, a lot of Tech types don't trust her because of the Wiz trait, after she started with the trigger interface though, many wished they were more friendly to her, funny how that works...

Of course, some of these instructions may appear in embarrassing or hard to reach places. Or in public places (like arms and face) where you really wouldn't want explanations of personal female hygiene appearing, no matter how useful the advice might be.

-rubs chin- Hmm, some aspects of this concept will blend nicely with the character I've dubbed Iron Kissed who I will admit is inspired by Zee from the Mercy Thompson books. Had been thinking of making her a Norse Dwarf and having her petrify in the sun light to balance out being able to tolerate the touch of iron and synthetics.

The duplicates can themselves be duplicated and duplicates have variable lifetimes. An Original can't be duplicated more than once until the first dupe disappears. The power also has a variable cooldown on working on the same person the dupe disappears, and a variable cooldown for being cast in succession.
Dupes of Dupes have to expire first before their 'parent' dupe, and the death of Originals result in expiry of dupes.
Dupes that burnout may receive a permanent hold on the new universe. Special Powers may also do so.
Dupes are randomized on each use. Getting what seems like the same duplicate, usually means that there's at least a subtle difference. They have variable dispositions/personalities, and powers, and other stuff. However, they're similar enough to the Original to be called "Doppelganger". But subsequent duping of the dupe usually gets it further and further from the Original Original with differences just stacking up. Assumption is that they originate from alternate realities.
They might help you, or your enemy. This is a power of last resort, most likely.
The dupes also have an adjustment period, meaning to understand the fact that they're in a new reality, and appear anywhere in a [Unknown Radius] sphere around the Original. If there is no free space, the power fails, or you get telefragging or something? It works on line of sight, or just the assumption that someone's there is enough for the power to get a target. ... Humans/mutants only? Or basically anything?

And now, two bad ideas of my own:
1) Inspired by Iolanthe , this mutant is a high level exemplar and TK brick - but only down to the waist. Everything below the waist is normal human, and unprotected by their TK forcefield. For bonus hilarity, give them a changeling BIT.
2) A shapeshifter who cycles between two forms, one male and one female. But different parts of their body cycle at different speeds - Their lower body (waist downwards shifts from male to female and back once a month, while their upper body shifts cycles about once a week, and their head's cycle varies from just a few days to several months at random.

Conjoiner
When this mutant comes into skin to skin contact with another person, that contact fuses the two of them, joining them into a single body sort of like conjoined twins. He has a weird mutant blood type that can handle joining circulatory systems with other people without killing either of them. The bodies will slowly fuse together from the initial contact, with the end result being a single normal human. That process would take several years to complete unless it was helped along by a full body embrace between the two bodies.(which would speed up the fusion by way of increased surface area). So far all connections have been surgically separated before they progressed more than a month. It's unclear what would happen once their brains start to fuse, but nobody is in a hurry to find out.
Fairly early on in the process, the shared circulatory system shares powers between the two (or more. Being joined to a person doesn't prevent them from fusing with others). The other person starts to gain the ability to fuse, and if that person was a mutant, then Conjoiner will start to gain the powers of the mutant. Conjoiner seems to gain powers much faster than the other way around. The gained powers on both sides fade after separation, with Conjoiner's powers usually gone from the other party within a day or two, and Conjoiner keeping his borrowed powers much longer, although how long depends on the power and the length of time joined. Nobody is quite sure what would happen if he joined with someone with regen, but everyone is pretty sure that they don't want to find out.
And because thinking of deep ocean fish inspired mutations inspires more:
Hagfish
Hagfish has GSD that is reminiscent of the (you guessed it!) hagfish. Although she still looks mostly human, she no longer has a skeleton beyond her skull, is capable of tying herself into knots, and excretes a mucus that is very similar to hagfish slime. She is capable of living in and out of water.

Resurrectors, Yuki-Onna (Snow Women), kills already dying girls via hypothermia in order to reincarnate them in Yuki-onna bodies. ... Could also use as a zombie force.
Ice Clones/Golems/Yuki-onna, that can be given full human form, stemming from the ability of Yuki-onna to be fully functional human women.
Or 'eats' men's souls and stores them in ice golem bodies to reincarnate. If ice golems can experience 'MATD', then reincarnate in female bodies with the ice golem as a sort of chrysalis stage.
Can explain more if wanted.
Resurrectors would have too much utility and stuff to not be utterly disruptive to society?

A person gets the power that anything the comes out of his or her body gains sentience and can talk and do some basic movement and gestures for up to an hour after leaving the body.
It has to be the size of a thumb nail or larger, and it can join with similar fluids or stuff from the person to become larger and more capable of ding things, sweat to sweat, spit to spit, vomit to vomit, feces to feces.
This would make going to the bathroom hellish, and sweating would suck.

An Energizer constantly charges up power, but only when they are flexing/clenching a muscle. However, they can only release the energy when it is fully charged, which makes for a nuke-type OHKO battle strategy. It takes about 2 full minutes of intense clenching to fully fill a charge, but because of general movement and activity, they are usually close to 50% at any given moment. They draw the energy from the heat in the air around them, which is dangerous on days that are already cold, because cold makes muscles freeze up (also frostbite, for anyone too close). Shiver, etc. When they gain a full charge, they can only hold it back for about 30 seconds before they must release it, as a powerful PK=field around their body that amplifies all motion to insane levels for about 2 seconds. They can do things such as - punch straight through most PK shields and armor, close long distances in less than a second (to follow up with said punch), and even leap into the air to catch a flying foe (but that would be a dumb idea, seriously). Other than this they have average strength and speed, and a helpful resistance to fairly intense cold and heat.
Idea based off of Boku no Hero Academia.

What determines substance-type? 'Cause most fluid is water... So, do all the water-based substances merge together. or something?

I was actually only thinking of Erfworld, and a toilet ghost I read about a while ago. But the cumsprites would be a pretty close match.
And don't know why it only works with specific things from specific parts, maybe how it comes out matters.

Totally random. He's sitting in class one day and he lets out a cloud of aphrodisiac gas - highly undesirabe. The next day, it's a gas that makes people settle down and get very attentive. He's at dinner, and he vents a gas that's a low-grade neuro-paralysis gas. A week later and the gas is a hyper-enticing food aroma.

Something different: a Reincarnator who transfers their mind to the nearest unborn child every time they die. This creates an very odd situation for the family, because the child is abnormally skilled and intelligent, even from a young age. However, this doesn't mean they don't have the experience of having a 'real' child. See, when the reincarnator transfers, only a very small chunk of memories is passed on, and the chance of mutation in the child is increased (including GSD, the mutant gene, and more ... detrimental mutations), but the child does not behave in a way that screams "I have a past life and know it". Instead, the child will mature quickly, most likely manifest, and live their life from there. Possibly something will happen that triggers the realization of the ability. At that point the reincarnator will seek out the records kept by their past selves and gain a full understanding of their abilities. Or not. They might just die and start over, unawares, but slightly more intelligent and experienced without knowing why.

I don't know if there's a medical term for the condition, but in The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, Dr. Sacks describes a patient who became convinced that his left leg was not his - that it was an cadaver leg that had been attached to his body where his left leg should have been. So my idea is a psychic mutant whose talent is to give other people this condition - the mutant touches your arm or your leg, and you become convinced that they swapped it out for a foreign arm or leg.

Idea 1: Animan girl; jaguar/lion hybrid. Dr DNA likely wasn't thrilled by a first gen who's a hybrid, but... he had no say.
Idea 2: Wrecked Nazi sub
Idea 3: Dives on wreck
Idea 4: ???
Muse is stumped between Parker ending up using one of her Nine Lives and attracting Bastet's attention, something on the sub "wakes up" and takes a liking to her, the sub's power source a Die Glocke Power plant does things, or Fourth Reicher's show up to loot the wreck and they end up doing something to her and giving her powers.

It's a mimic/shifter who can 'imprint' a compressed copy of someone's physical and mental state into an object. Later, they can touch the object to take on the person's form. When they do this, they temporarily store their own state in the object and take on the personality that matches the form. This also lets them copy abilities, but they can only be used in the way the original person would behave, which severely limits their scope. The way they have found to circumvent this obstacle is to communicate with their other personalities to work towards a common goal. More often than not there is a lack of clear communication and things go wrong.
They also have to deal with a lot of ethical implications, like whether their copies count as real people or not when they are stored in the object.

I'm no rocket scientist, but I did some looking around, and the 5 billion Joules of energy from a single lightning bolt would probably be enough to get a single person into LEO if they have a way to convert it into thrust. Probably a bit more than enough, actually. However, they would want to have some left over once they get there, so they don't accidentally crash into the ocean from space. That would not be the funnest thing ever.
Also I don't think they would get much lightning once they passed most of the atmosphere.
However I bet they could totally pull a Railgun off.
Yeah, I don't think they have the fine control for claws so much as they can open the floodgates and hope their opponent doesn't die too much. Unless that was the intention. I guess that counts as 'shooting' lightning.
Yay plasma. It doesn't actually take fine control it just takes a huge amount of energy which they can do. Mostly they'll just be setting themselves and everything else on fire.

So, they can make straight EM 'rails' using their lightning powers, but not contain lightning into a claw-shape? ... Well, I was imagining claws that are like, some feet long... So I guess if they're super-confined, like only a few inches long, then they're impossible?

Yeah. I know.

I'm the one trying a ToAru Fusion after all.

To link to Youtube, just copy the URL in. Best to surround with spoiler code, as Youtube boxes are pretty big?
I think she still uses rails of some kind however, not powering things by exploding the air and propelling that way... Like WORST does when she falls to fight Accel in Russia, to not need parachutes...
From the ToAru Wiki
Railgun (超電磁砲 Chō-Denjihō (Rērugan)?, lit. "Super Electromagnetic Cannon"): Mikoto can fire metal objects at three times the speed of sound by forming parallel currents on both sides of her arm with her electricity.
Also, Mikoto did 'become lightning' with her LV6 Shift .
- Quorry

Anyways, the only way Lightning person can propel things is by blasting them, so accuracy is a bit difficult. In fact, they don't even have that much control over where the electricity goes.
Basically, their powerset doesn't include any containment or control once the energy leaves their body. They can influence what direction they 'throw' it in, and that's about it.
Because someone with the ability to jump into orbit needs limitations.

The spoiler tags aren't necessary, but they mean that it takes up less space. On the old forum, if you wanted to make a link rather than embedding the video then you had to use the shortened url found under share rather than the full url, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Obviously, all spaces are to keep the examples from doing their job.
There's also a "link" button in the full post editor that will do it for you.
Also, if you're ever not sure how to do something, quote a post that does that thing, and you should be able to see the necessary code in edit mode.

A team of mutants with "failed" GSD. And by that I mean mutations that give people certain expectations which are then not at all fulfilled.
Here's who I have so far:
a mutant with giant wings which aren't strong enough to fly with
a mutant with fins and scales who lacks gills and can't swim any better than a normal person (and maybe oddly placed fins make even that harder than normal?)
a centaur who isn't coordinated enough to move faster than a walk
an elephant-like mutant who is barely strong enough to support her enormous body
And the fish-mutant has inspired an actually bad idea - a mutant who's lungs are replaced by gills - but the change is gradual, and the lungs atrophy signficantly before the gills open.

I'm not certain of the level of originality of this one, but here goes: A devisor/mage/gadgeteer who takes old-timey machines and devices and 'updates' them by cramming them full of tech. They take one of those funny looking bicycles and add a motor and full gear system to make it faster than a conventional bike. Then they go the extra mile and add hydraulics and a force field generator, and a flamethrower for extra flair (flare). Because of the way they work, the bike retains its original appearance despite the additions, and can still function normally.
Limitation: They can only work on old things, or old designs. Otherwise they have a mental block and can create nothing.
They like shopping at antique stores and dressing in old-timey clothes from varying eras.

'Crusher'
Has an extremely powerful PK field localized entirely around his hands. It is capable of nullifying almost any attack striking said hands. Said hands are capable of crushing any material sans adamantium. Hence the name 'Crusher'. This is also the reason he wears adamantium wrist braces. His braces are connected to each other with cable to prevent over extension of his arms in cases where he must support weight with his grip.
Said hands are also capable of clinging to any surface, allowing for the scaling of buildings or cliff faces without the need for gear (unless there are signs of weak rock). He enjoys climbing as a pastime.
'Crusher' has also been seen flinging projectiles at supersonic velocities using the movement of his fingertips. He throws a wicked curve ball.
The most important thing to know about him is that his notion of 'force' is distorted and he often uses far too much of it.
Advice when dealing with 'Crusher':
1. Do not shake his hand
2. Do not let him touch you
3. Do not touch him, in case he subsequently touches you
4. Do not get within arms reach of him, in case he tries to greet you by slapping you on the back
5. If you must fight him, just aim anywhere but his hands. He is normal everywhere else. This may prove difficult, because he has excellent hand-eye coordination and reflexes

Yeah, being a PK field instead of straightforward superstrength does help to get around the issue. But you should still think about how that works, exactly. Where the field ends? Wrist? Mid-forearm? Elbow? Shoulder? Does it end abruptly, like a glove, or fade out, becoming weaker along the arm? What happens if he accidentally slaps his thigh when walking? Is he able to dress himself without tearing his pants apart?
- Quorry
-
Actually, I was trying to consider the implications of localized superstrength when I was writing the idea, which is why I included the bit about the bracers (to keep his wrists from breaking when catching bullets or something) and cable, but that is mostly because I imagine him as the kind of guy who would grab onto something and not let go even if it was about to tear his arm off.
His control over the field is subconscious. It activates whenever he goes to use his hand for anything UNLESS he concentrates, but it will not activate while he is just walking. Luckily he isn't the type to slap his knee when laughing, or he'd have a really broken leg.
He does have to be careful dressing himself, because if he grips a fabric the wrong way or something it will mess up his clothes. I'd say he doesn't actually wear a proper uniform because it is too complex for him to put on without destroying something.
The thing I was thinking about with the strength was this webcomic called Dice. Early on this one guy thinks he finds a loophole in the system they are all using to get stronger and just makes his arm stronger, but it puts a large strain on the rest of his body.

Something close to that concept is Marvel's Artie Maddicks. Young mutant with GSD who manifested at 11, mute and projected his thoughts as psychic illusions, mainly in the form of pictographs that represent the words he would otherwise speak.Astrodragon wrote:

Well, yes and no. Leech could control his power to suppress mutant powers by that point, requiring physical touch much like Rogue. And yes, he and Artie were best friends and got into a lot of trouble together.Domoviye wrote:

Not a mutant, but a baseline wizard who specializes in cooking. She can't cast a regular spell to save her life, instead she does it with her cooking. Need a fireball spell, she adds extra jalapeno peppers to the chili. Want a healing spell, try her chicken soup. Want to put someone to sleep, she has a delicious hot chocolate with just a hint of mint and rum.
She likes to can her potions for later use.

Similar ideas can be found in lots of things, including Warhammer. It seemed funny to me, especially the name.
New idea.
Sarcastic Man
This person is the most sarcastic person in existence. And it's not just that he's sarcastic, anyone can be, it's a top level ability that can bring people to their knees in embarrassment, or incite riots.
At any time Sarcastic Man chooses, he can unleash withering sarcasm in any language, even ones he's never heard before and should not be able to speak. In New Orleans, where he was visiting for Mardi Gras, an evil wizard summoned a shoggoth that started to eat the crowd. Sarcastic Man walked over to it and after a ten minute conversation that no one can remember clearly, the monstrosity threw up the lightly digested but still living party goers and slunk off back to its own dimension.
Finally Sarcastic Man is totally unflappable until well after something has occurred, if he panicked or freaked out, he wouldn't be able to be sarcastic.

A proper tea snob has notes of how long and what temp to brew the types of loose-leaf teas he or she has.
A proper tea snob has a thermostatically controlled water heater to get optimal brewing temperature, like maybe this
A proper tea snob has a proper tea warmer to maintain proper brewing conditions, like this :
A proper tea snob has a good infuser, like perhaps this
A proper tea snob has tea cups that help keep the tea at good drinking temp, like maybe this
On the other hand, uncouth tea drinkers use a kettle on the stove, tea bags or a cheap infuser, don't time squat, and brew tea in a souvenir Sea World coffee cup

And each invention-dream completed gets you only a small reprieve. Or, possibly a progressively shorter one.
Weirder would be that it's something that's sort of similar to a Dwarf Fortress Dwarven Insanity... Or perhaps not similar at all, where if restrained, the body changes to break free of those restraints and forces the body to sleep-build.

Nope not much anyways, organ shutdown already started basically by the time he was admitted to Doyle, the body was beyond repair, brain deterioration had started as he hadn't actually been breathing enough shortly after his mind entered the suit, it was all electrical impulses from the suit controlling the muscles, and hijacking the body's sensory imputs, he was dead before he got there (medically speaking) the collapse was due to the body having run out of oxygen and deteriorating much more quickly then they would if he was like most cases of someone going brain dead were the body isn't in use, all the maintance functions that the brain takes care of (even though most are muscle memory) stopped running, and the body was being used as it would be if it was on an adrenaline surge, but the organs weren't told to quicken the pace to match, basically the panicked run to Doyle killed the body, they added something similar to one of those implants that controls someone's heart rate before they re-enabled that ability for when his sister was wearing him, as well as the ability to handle the added juice required for that (She's an Exemplar 2, he had baseline strength, the suit was to basically match their abilities physically, logically slightly more power may be needed to reach the simulated adrenaline strength boost, particularly when she's knocked out and he has to take the wheel) after that the first thing they added to him was a conductive outer coating that is insulated from the rest of their systems (I am having trouble with pronouns talking about them, imagine the pronoun trouble the CHARACTERS will have-- need to work out proper nouns first though) to act as a Faraday cage and protect the brother from EMP, after that they worked on a variety of external batteries, though body heat and the power supplies for the nanites are enough to keep the suit running and a little bit extra, having a consciousness in there doing it's own thing and the added power demand for boosting an Exemplar 2, is a bit much for the low power alternative to a true power suit, so in "civilian form" there's a sizable battery in their purse with a short-range wireless power transmitter, similar to the ones some phone chargers use but better, and for combat its in the form of modular armor pieces that can act like reactive armor if need be (basically its a be mindful that these batteries explode thing, so its in case the PFG fails or they don't have the power to keep it running or (more likely) the projectile is too powerful for the PFG to handle) Normally the brother uses his sped up processing time to give his sister ques on where to move for a tactical edge, however he can interface with his sister's gadgets (as a suit his Devising is gone) and as mentioned before, take the wheel if his twin is unconscious, or lets him, it's her body after all, she may be wearing him but it was his fault for being in that situation, and her choice as to what he is the next day outside of the connection at the base of the neck, which eventually gains a wireless connection to the rest of the outfit (late in their freshman year it ends up disguised as a choker) there is nothing stopping her from wearing him as particular kinds of underwear, and cutting putting him in "airport mode" so that he has plenty of power to last the day. not to mention thanks to the neural link, which Bellows has basically determined that they are not to break for extended periods of time, he can only go into sleep mode when she does, she can even make him very nearly into silk, and as he can feel both what the suit comes in contact with, and what she feels, and she has the mute button for his speakers, he is very mindful of the line, doesn't stop the snark, but like something as little as his sister having full motor control between the two of them and literal buttons to press would stop him from pressing her buttons?Domoviye wrote:

Or give a nanite body, as the nanites are Gadgets, and only the Neural Control is a devise, so just get someone else to make a neural control devise for a new version of the suit. There should be enough Devisors to find one that can do that?

Malady wrote: Remake body and re-insert mind, like with Shelly, or sorta like Belphoebe?
The neural interface that put him in the suit was an incomplete device, making his mind in itself a devise in a sense, kinda like Hive and Sam, even if there was a way to give him a new body, it's just as likely that the attempt would erase his mind entirely, or do nothing at all, as it is to work, if there was a way to reverse the process, it would require a devise from the devisor that made it to do so, and as the suit, he's no longer a devisor.
Edit: You didn't break my Idea, the Hive stories are EXACTLY the basis of why it wouldn't work, also as suit and wearer the twins are actually more effective then they ever were separate, they mostly agree anyways and their link is more important to them than what they look like, and even if they could ensure a successful transfer, there is no guarantee their telepathic link would be reestablished, any way you slice it, the risk was to great for them, or the school to take.

Could make it into Magical Personality Infused Armor, like Al from Full Metal Alchemist, or instead of nanoclothing, have it be a nano-infusion with its own personality, but somehow having to be bonded with a person? Sorta like Compiler?

This is relevant because while the brother prefers girls (he wasn't in Poe), both twins are switch hitters and they shared experiences even before he became an article of clothing, via their telepathic link, not like they could help it.
They wouldn't do magic stuff, even though the brother is no longer a devisor, the sister IS a gadgeteer, and as her brother is essentially an AI now, that gives her options that both find too attractive to throw away, with gadgets that he can use without distracting her, while he can't be in two places at once, his "awareness" can, to them this isn't a bad thing, a little awkward yes, but they're too excited for the potential options the situation opens them up to, to really think about fixing it, I mean if they wanted to, they could build a synthetic body for him, using the nanite weave but they are having fun as they are, and individually they can do so much more as suit and wearer, than they could before the accident, the brother can operate several robots at once with his mind, and provide superb situational awareness, while the sister is faster, stronger and can react to speedsters effectively without being one, not to mention her options for holdouts her brother can control, why would they want to change that?

I forget exactly how it went last time. I think it was a guy with high regen and blood that explodes on contact with air.
The power is changed to a field that improves and alters the performance of nanotech, bending it to the benefit of the user.
This is a guy who was part of a nanomachine experiment to make it possible for humans to eat 'trash'. You know, to cut down on waste, etc. He was a baby when the procedures began, and was one of the few children to emerge from the process relatively unscathed. He was rendered able to digest some light plastics, in relatively low quantities, but the nanomachines were mostly dormant.
Then he emerged, and his ability kickstarted the nanos into high gear, granting them a hive mind and the capacity for improvement, trial and error. They began altering his body using any materials they had access to, and created a pattern of his body to repair or rebuild him if necessary. They activated their own replication processes to give him an extremely high concentration of nanos in his tissues and bloostream. To gather materials for this replication, the nanomachine hive mind created a hunger for various metals and materials they needed.
The end result is that this guy is extremely toxic, loaded with a truly massive amount of nanomachines that make him immune to any biological or chemical hazard, and are constantly finding new ways to integrate them into his natural body chemistry. When he bleeds, the reactive chemicals in his blood combust violently. His blood isn't true regenerator blood, but it is far more dangerous, even when not exploding.
Other things that have changed: nails are strengthened with metal, hair is made of stiff plastic, sometimes his tears contain acid
Don't kiss him. You will probably die.

Technically he doesn't have to be clothing, its just easier for them, the nano-weave is durable enough not to be damaged easily, even in Whateley- it was designed for a variant of power suit after all, if he does get severely damaged, he will just slow down until he gets sufficient replacement weave, strangely no one piece contains his personality persay. you could rip him to shreds and so long as you have the largest piece of him, all he'll lose is memories between when he was damaged and when he was last in the nanoweave box that is used to repair and reshape him, so long as he's not completely destroyed, technically that shouldn't be possible, but his mind is a devise so they make efforts to avoid the topic of why it isn't physically possible, it just works

Ohh and the suit effectively makes her a low exemplar 3, but they are far more effective against speedsters now

I hope the method isn't too similar to the one I used...Cryptic wrote:

Huh. That could be a Scene Series, or a thread all by itself. The date-result is the one I most want to see, as it's so inexplicable? Unless it's like the "I beat up this guy who was bullying this girl"...
I wonder how the date went...

Powers:
Exemplar 1
Avatar; Zephyr (Wind spirit)
- grants flight, airokinisis (?), and puts her ever so slightly out of phase density wise.
"wears" devisor holoprojectors that either project her school uniform, or black bars.
Personality: as fickle as the wind.
Notes: has all seasons of Avatar and Korra, and is working to learn their air bending tricks.

But, to shift the topic. What if Skyclad didn't know how to spell Aerokinesis? ... Can you get spelling mistakes on a MID? Hmm... ...
Why'd she get Skyclad as a codename? ... Guess it wasn't her choice?

Personality: Adrenaline Junkie. Sky diving, rock climbing, water skiing, jaywalking across highways. If it will get your heart racing, they've probably done it.
Powers: Mid-level regen, high-level probability warper.
To put their powers into prospective: On a trip skiing, they would be able to flawlessly complete a run on a double-black diamond trail. After stopping for a snack at the lodge, they could then go to the top of the bunny slope and would proceed to get tangled up with a pine tree off to the side of the slope.

Personally, I'd just call them Tempter, or Temp.
But, hey, it's your character, and perhaps they're quirky or don't notice the convention or something.

Just as students at Whateley, we have: Anno Domani, Banned Aids, Bunker Buster, Chain Lightning, Chat Bleu, Crimson Comet, Delta Spike, Diz Aster, Fire Forge... and that's just on the *first page* of the Category: students at the wiki. Not to mention all of those who are actually two words smashed together, such as "Bluescreen."

How did I 'leave off' she's a wind/air spirit?
As for the codename... I'm going with the cops stuck it on her when she was arrested for indecent exposure and she embraced it.

... Get a Bio-devisor or something... Perhaps Nanites, to change the body so all waste is recycled? Not sweating is something humans can already be mutated to do... Although it's not healthy...
What are the fluids like, I wonder? Are they constant in gender/sex and personality?

Brought about because I had the thought; with Arachnie and the unnamed drider girl around, how would a male spider person react?

No, I have no idea what makes a Sidhe dinosaur different from a regular dinosaur either.

The Outcast Corner stories are set in Fall 07, with the four of them telling stories to a group of new TG GSD students that aren't Poesies. One is becoming some sort of spider thing, whether a Drider or more like Bova isn't said.
