And things clicked. The character summons and shoves a spirit into a target biological and creates a monster. I call the character Bastard Jr. My problem is I want to restrict this potential power house some, and that's where my Muse abandons the process, mostly cause she wants me to put the char in at full power.Monstrous
Unlike "corporeal", this type inhabits the body of a living creature and fills it with magical power, strengthening it, granting new abilities, and gradually warping the creature into a monstrous parody of the original creature. Killing the body dissipates the entity.
So suggestions?
Mind linking her to her creations might make for a interesting array of possible limitations as much as it would add to her strength. For example She could control the creations but the more she makes the lower her IQ drops. And a few of them have bin captured alive leaving her a bit on the dim side of things.

I think that's Greenland. The shape isn't right, but nothing else matches Greenland either; probably a projection issue. But that's not the point. What is the bad idea supposed to be? A villain's agenda. Remaking the world not into their own image, but the image of a giant chicken.Sir Lee wrote: What's the big thing east of Africa supposed to be? Lemuria? And, anyway, it's just a map with the continents somewhat shuffled around... what's the idea supposed to be?

East of Africa is Antarctica, west of Africa is Greenland.
Look at the whole picture, and "connect the dots." Don't worry you can't foul this up.

Kettlekorn wrote: No, that's definitely not Antarctica. It's an upside down Greenland by way of what I suspect to be an equirectangular projection map. The bits of land west of Africa are those islands that normally live in the north part of Canada just west of Greenland, also distorted by said equirectangular projection and rotated maybe 120 degrees or so clockwise.
So the used perhaps the absolutely worst map projection for Greenland, distorting it's size and shape? That makes the picture a really bad idea.

Don't look at me like that. I didn't go looking for a favorite map projection - I was dealing with them at work, and happened to stumble across one that was too great to ignore.

For melee weapons, the more complicated it is, the less its worth as a weapon. That said, a couple of "theme" items to mislead an opponent into grabbing for them might be a good bit of theater to include in a costume.

Still, for the average mook, butterfly knives in the hands of a practiced user do have intimidation going for them, in addition to concealability.
Darts might be usable as long as they're cheap enough to walk away from after the fight.
Dragonfly-themed/-sized drones, on the other hand, might combine utility and art nicely.

It would depend on who you're aiming them at.
Standard bullets aren't really trace-able.
Custom components, even if you are doing the work yourself from raw materials, would still be trace-able by magic.

I'm reminded of how in one of the Dresden Files short stories, Marcone mentions that he had invested in cheap doors for dramatic (if not tactical) doorways. Also Jadis pulls something like this in one of her combat finals, by baiting her opponent to shoot her in one very specific spot, although she uses a different sort of subterfuge to pull that off.

Obfuscating Stupidity: A tactic used by Sunburst, among others.
I was like... "When did I start troping MLP"? ... And now, I have an idea... That Sunburst has a twin brother or something named Sunset... See Sunsplit .
OH... You know how Twilight has all those girls with similar names to her with similarly powersets? ... What if Sunburst has that happen to her...
Gah... Now I'm thinking Nacht as a Nyx ... Marazena as a cultist... Oh great... I can make so many parallels... Ugh... Not gonna work on this... No...
Oh... Great... Now I'm thinking of more name similarities...

This starts a bitter rivalry during the race (because it was the girls' idea and they did all the work getting permission!), and as the Golden Kids begin to fall behind, their pride gets the better of them, so they start to use underhanded tactics to gain an edge on our plucky heroines.
In the end, Lanie, Tansy, and Kayda beat the Golden Kids by a hair, only to discover they're 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The winners?
Jericho, Diamond, and Noms in a ramshackle, patched-together boat, forced into simulator training by Gunny, because he always has to have a team that can take out one of the others...even in sailing.

Phase has and will use dirty tactics, in a fight, or for bully repellent (as a certain speedster found out in Y1), but in an organized civil event where the rules are laid out, you are absolutely correct.

... How is that different from when she was on Hazmat's Dev-Sugar? Well... ... I guess the Dev-Sugar isn't hallucinatory... So, Hallucinations might have her crashing through walls a bit more, and things get even wackier...
What would be really really weird is if that made her calm down.

"What's going on?" the boy asked as he approached a crowd gathered around something.
"Tink got a big gulp of soda AND got hit with a load of Absinthe's glamour."
"Oh, my God! Why isn't everyone running for cover?" the boy cried with alarm.
"Because it works differently on her. Look."
The boy looked, and his jaw dropped as he beheld the tiny purple-winged fairy sprawled out on the ground with a goofy smile - like she was totally STONED.
"At least we know how to calm her down now," his companion said with a smirk.

While somewhere laced in Phase does have the intent on taking down or at least being a worthy competitor to Goodkind Industries, he has shown he isn't that interested in revenge, he hired the KOP once for crying out loud, his core interests are actually fairly similar to that of the rest of his family, he just comes at it from a very different angle, since mutating his view on how dangerous mutants are is either the same as what it was before, or even greater, the key difference is he acknowledges that desperate people are dangerous, so if there are fewer desperate mutants as opposed to fewer mutants, the world will be safer. His main motivation against his family is that they are making it more dangerous for people in general, also the fact that they protected and allowed Emil Hammond to experiment on him.

If its a Tesla she can possess the computer in it maybe. all functions of the vehicle are peripheral to it, she might even be able to "see" color thanks to the cameras, unknown because I don't remember her ever possessing something with a camera, she might manage anything equipped with self parking features as well. a work around to not being able to possess a part of an object, is to possess something that plugs into the vehicle's computer.

Another problem is that most car computers (and smartphones, and tablets) nowadays use a capacitance-based touchscreen. Which means that she probably would require some sort of specially designed stylus to be able to press on screen icons -- a regular smartphone stylus wouldn't work, since it still depends on the natural capacitance of the human body holding it.
So, even if she is able to treat the computer as a separate object from the car (doubtful, she hasn't show this kind of ability before), it wouldn't help much.
However, IF she can learn to pull off the trick of possessing a component part without the rest of the object, she might control a car by possessing the steering wheel, pedals and shift lever. There's the issue of the windshield and other windows -- Babs was a bit inconsistent on whether glass should be transparent to her psi-vision or not. But at least Jinn wouldn't require rearview mirrors.

Actually you can easily argue that phase doesn't overpay, cost of living expenses and quality of work, a gadgeteer is at least equal to a skilled and experienced IT specialist, but usually along the lines of an R&D department, devisors provide unique resources and equipment, especially valuable when it can be considered capital equipment, similar logic follows other prospective hires, arguably in order to keep a competitive job market between baselines and mutants, there HAS to be a standard where mutants cost more to employ if their mutation contributes to their job, that way it will still make sense to hire baselines

Except he is paying Jody 3 or 4 times minimum wage to do maid work. He was paying girls $100 per hour to serve at the Golden Kids meeting, which was significantly more than anyone else had, causing them all to raise what they paid. He isn't drastically overpaying the Gadgeteers and Devisors, he is paying them what they are worth, and getting them paid what they are worth.
I'm not sure where the "petty revenge" against his family came from. He talks to his brother fairly regularly and has warned him about Tansy, warned him about the computer hacking, warned them that what happened to him probably wasn't natural. It's fairly obvious he still loves his family, well except maybe his sister Heather.

So, he pays them well enough that right from the start they really, really don't want to lose this cushy gig. And treats them well enough so they don't become disgruntled.
At Whateley, there's an additional variable: Ayla is employing other students, that is, theoretically his social equals, to do menial jobs (laundry & cleaning in Jodi's case, waitressing in Jade's case). Any way you cut it, it adds a bit of class tension into the social relationship, that is, it's bound to generate a bit of resentment from his employees. One way to lessen the impact is to make the job really attractive. So he overpays Jodi more, proportionally, than he would overpay his maid outside Whateley.
Now, none of that dynamic applies to the Workshop guys. These are not doing menial work for Ayla; they are doing pretty much what they want to do the rest of their lives -- and Ayla is helping them what their work is worth. Ayla is not their employer; he's their customer, or patent agent, or money manager. He does not need to overpay them to make them happy; paying them fair market value is already much better than they are getting from other sources.

All of this is slightly besides the point, though. Ayla can spout practical reasons until he's blue in the face and they may even be true, but the bottom line is that he has an almost pathological need to help people. "Goodkinds don't complain. They fix things."
It's most clearly stated during the episode where he gets Vox to voice Glitch, but you also see it when he sets up the two girls who help him over Christmas with scholarships and therapy. He has no expectation of ever seeing then again, but helping them is the right thing to do, so he does.

Supposedly, the "Atlantean League" is will be pushing more extensive and intensive training in the sims and arenas, including swapping members, all without Liz Carson or Hecate's Master figuring out that something's up with that. Not that expecting most or all the techies and wiz-kids to donate all their work to buffing the Designated Warriors won't be a huge tip-off. OPSEC is nice, but it rarely defends against forensic audits. Expecting Phase and She-Beast to cover everyone's financial tracks against audit would also be a tipoff.
Financially, conning the young wizards and sorceresses into turning over all their protective gear to the Real Men (and a couple of Women) on a "we'll pay you back for materials Real Soon Now" basis is a brilliant stroke. Because once they do that and start scrying the Bastard full-time ... well, blood-smears can't take you to court for non-payment, now can they?
Maybe Sidewinder becomes so financially successful in part because they're marketing the gear developed for the League by the discarded blood-smears on behalf of their estates?

In cannon I don't think the League knows about Hecate's Master. Only some of the staff and maybe the Kimbas know about it. None of whom are involved with the League.

She knows the Don met with some scarey dude and he pissed his pants. I don't think there was much more than that. And with all that has bin happening she might not have paid it much mind. Or even thought about it. And I don't think she knows much about the league ether. How much has she bin read in on about it. She is hardly trusted by most of them.
She has a peace of the puzzle. (That the Don knows who one of his main minions is.)
The league has more thanks to the dumb bear. (What the bastard looks like. And is capable of.)
Some of the staff and security aux has more. (What his minions are like and how he corrupts things.)
Paige/Petra Donner. Probably has more. (Where he is located at.)
And the MCO also has some of them. (When he is likely to appear.)
I look foreword to seeing how the author get all these people to share there info with each other. That is if they do so before it's to late.

Right. She was also dead-center of the spirit-trading conspiracy. They may not know more than that about HM other than he may be posing as a student on the tech track, but Rev. Englund and Amelia Hartford should know something. Funny that the Kimbas Englund most wants left out are the ones who have history with Nimbus, the Necromancer, and the Bastard.
Nonetheless, even if the League has no concept or concern about Hekate's Master whatsoever, that doesn't mean that he inherently cannot learn about them.

But does she understand what it means?
Kodiak, Aries, and some of the other Alphas know Hekate bespelled Cav & Sky, but I don't think any of them have the magic knowledge to know how hard that would be.
Of course if Tansy shoud mention of this to Kayda, anyone in TK, any teacher in the Mystic Arts program, Foobs, Carson, Hartford, or possibly Kodiak or Lanie the fecal matter will hit the Forced Air Node.

Definitely HM has been messing with Whateley, and killing students (albeit indirectly) if the Syndicate knew or even suspected HM was Nimbus, who's methods are already frowned upon by many of the villain community, messing with kids, surgically implanting a BOMB in a non-consenting minor, probably puts Nimbus on the line, if they knew they were the same...

Karedonia isn't likely. It's a vacation resort island. And while there aren't any rules against supervillaning per say.
They aren't supposed to bring any criminal activity there. So no using it to hide from heros.
And actively mad sciancing or mad magicking would be frowned on, as those things would endanger the locals. And not even heaven will help you if you do anything to endanger the locals.

Sir Lee wrote: You are all missing the point. Ayla pays extra-well for personal services because he's investing in people's loyalty. Personal servants have an inside track into their employers' lives, and Ayla is very aware that disgruntled servants are one of the biggest security weaknesses there are -- be it involving theft, industrial espionage, kidnapping or plain old malicious gossip.
He is also doing them a service, in that he is getting them to value their own services/skills properly.
You have the "I'm just a student. This isn't worth that much." vibe, that he is actively combatting, which IIRC was one of the main ways that Devisors/Gadgeteers get ripped oof, and subsequently go Red-Card.
I have seen fresh graduates get exploited in exactly this manner in the tech field.

Just reread TGTH. It's cool how many things she does in TGTH directly mirror things she does normally. I also find it interesting how even in that world where Shoggoth are normal, Jade's abilities are still impressive. I estimate that by the end, Jet is actually 1/12 of Jade. (5 splits normally, not counting Jet, so 6 with Jet, and then Jet splits and leaves half herself in hell.)
Jade's abilities are crazy and I'd like to see she with them completely in the main world; see what she would do with them when not in hell. Jet even predicts that her abilities could rival Jimmy T! There's also the question of whether her natural shapeshifting abilities would be able to alter her body structure on the organ or cell levels or if that was just part of the Hell of Flesh.
The real question is what would have to happen for Jade to unlock her true shapeshifting abilities and not just Jet?

You don't have to threaten the hostages just hold them captive. She was doing that to a lot of criminals back home. Sneak up behind them and cover there eyes before knocking them out and they never have to know it was her.
Though all of this more or less irreverent if it's a sim run.
And if she needed to make a bunch of holographic hostages take her seriously she could do it by exploding a cat by generating tones of ribbons in side of her. Though this could have bit set by the sim operators as set dressing before hand.
This would be good for a dark ribbon run. She could also have exploding ribbon filled pinatas. Get close and the ribbons explode out and tie them up. Ribbon grenades. Animated ribbon snakes. Giant animated ribbon animals.
Random Wondercute member: "Oh look at the pretty lion pinata." "Ack it ate jade."
Jade thinks to her self. "No problem I can get out of this easy."

Worse Idea: Decide not to tell anyone in the student body which deities, etc. have a representative among the student body. Let them figure it out or convert to a more acceptable religion.
Solution: Call them all up (invocation, summoning, prayer, etc.) and ask them if they have or are planning to have a paladin or avatar on campus. The spirit of TPC probably does take telephone calls.
i.e.: War-dial the world's pantheons. What could go wrong?
We all know (or rather can reasonably presume) that that whole no worshiping another student's spirit thing, was more to avoid any perceived favoritism and to keep the students from feeling all high and mighty because of their followers than anything else. outside of the public shrines and such, there isn't any real way to enforce the rule, if they are being discreet, by keeping any of the more public ones from being set up, the likelihood of another avatar's or paladin's spirit of taking offense to a bias that favors another spirit is reduced, major spirits will have followers, and some will have students in Whateley as hosts, but its bad form to let it become too far off from neutral ground between those spirits

But that's NOT how it was presented to the students - who are hormonal teenagers, NOT the paladins and avatars in contact with the spirits - most of them unaware of the reasons for Mrs. Carson's temper tantrum this time.
There will likely be a Discordian working in progress before Lady Astarte makes it back to the office.

Again, remember that the followers are not the same people as the hosts, and they don't have a Pope or Imam to pass down ex cathedra directives like that.

Note that Mrs. Carson did NOT prohibit the worship of another student or their spirit.
Kayda 10.6 wrote: "I've had a few ... unusual requests, five this week alone," Mrs. Carson began bluntly. "Now while Whateley respects your freedom of religion, no-one, and I repeat, NO-ONE, is going to build any form of shrine, temple, altar, or any other worship or adoration space devoted to any other student or student's spirit, NO MATTER WHOSE SPIRIT THAT STUDENT MIGHT CARRY!" She scanned the audience, stopping specifically so she could glare at me, and then moved on to a few other select students, such as the New Olympians, Fey, and Chou. "Anyone who makes a request to erect such a worship space will be severely punished. Any avatar who requests or otherwise gives approval to devotees will be even more severely punished or expelled. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?"
She prohibited the building of shrines, temples, altars, or other spaces.
Hmmmm, I wonder if that applies to Sara's bed? I bet a lot of worshipping and adoration took place there.

Hm. Use grasses and such for the initial concentration of the feedstock into soft edible seeds, and then to the avian step, then one can use the waste materials as fertilizer.

Depends on if its a combat final, and the timing of her trial, or if the outcome is very unfavorable. If its a combat final scenario, and shortly before the trial, it would be horrible, especially if Ribbon gets to see others make a real snafu of it the same way Pinnacle did in the real event or worse, a few times before its her turn. She wants to be in psychology and/or neurosciences, and lets face it there's only one way for her to win that scenario, by diffusing the situation peacefully, but can she do it under extreme emotional stress? Add into that in combat finals, its 2 students at a time, and the other student may not be cooperative with the non-violent approach.
Surprising her with it wouldn't work, its a simulation of her home turf, and there are going to be several ways an exemplar can figure out the when, especially when they are all too familiar with the locale, she could easily figure out who the simulated villain is.
The purpose of the finals is to push the students to their limits, on one hand "what better way" on the other, regardless of result Ribbon will very likely need to see Bellows and/or break stuff.
